Great food. Finally found a reasonable priced Chinese food place around here. Coming from NY, I have to say this place is good.

Tried this place for the 1st time. I ordered a lunch special the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and rangoons. Everything was tasty and fresh. Better than my other local chinese option. The lunch prices are very affordable. Food was ready on time. It's take out only. No seating or decor inside. I did notice their website/online prices are not updated. I got takeout there today General Tso's special combo and pork fried rice . It was terrible I ate some of the General's but had to stop the chicken itself was very fibery I had to spit out almost every bite and the pork fried rice that came with it was bland. The pork fried Lo mein was lousy too. I putting it all out for the neighborhood fox or raccoons first come first server . I hope they don't barf all over my lawn . This is a great family owned Chinese restaurant with consistently very good food. Tai Jiang is our family's go to place for ordering out.

Fresh and good, generous servings. Was our first time ordering and it was a huge challenge trying to read menu on website! Appetizer sampler (called tidbits) had cold and dry fried wontons but the bbq spare rib nuggets were amazing!! Wonton soup was fantastic. Ordered several combo plates; all very good. Tai Jiang is a classic Chinese carryout place. The food is very good, and the portions are very generous for the price. I can usually get four meals out of one order! I especially like the moo shu and egg foo young, and the egg rolls are really tasty and packed with filling. read more

The servings are large, the food is fresh, and a $50 order was ready 5 minutes before I picked it up. What more does someone want from a local Americanized Chinese food takeout place? Perfect takeout Chinese restaurant. No online ordering, you have to call, and you cannot dine it. No frills at all. Food was quick, cheap (in a good way), and delish. I got the General Tso's chicken and while it wasn't spicy at all, the crunch was fantastic and the quality of the chicken was much higher than you find at a lot of strip-mall type restaurants. We've been coming here since the original owners. The last couple of orders have been bad. This was the last straw. The egg foo young had NO sauce, red or brown, but was made of cooking oil and salty soy. Inedible. The raccoons will be so happy. The vegetable lo mein, was dry, no garlic sauce at all, and three pieces of broccoli, and a teaspoon of carrot. I have eaten a lot of bad Chinese takeout over the years, and this is the bottom of the barrel. So sad. It used to be the benchmark for excellent takeout. I have never reviewed a restaurant before. This may seem foolish to some, but I was quite upset over this experience. For whatever reason, I had not ordered from Tai Jiang for many years. At that time, it was very good so I decided to try it again, bringing food to a friend's house; am I sorry I did. I ordered one entrée (that was skimpy) and various appetizers. In the Hawaii Five "O", I found beef, chicken, two shrimp, a few slices of mushrooms, and vegetables - mostly broccoli; I could not determine if there was lobster, as advertised. Overall, the dish was tasteless. The shrimp toast was very good. The shrimp lo mein was edible, and the steamed vegetable dumplings were okay; apparently, they grind their vegetables so one doesn't know what "vegetables" they're using in the dumplings. BUT, the Crab Rangoon, which is one of my very favorite dishes, was downright terrible. The dough was very hard and difficult to bite into and chew, and there wasn't much filling. Very disappointing. The last restaurant I had ordered this appetizer from provided a flaky and delicious product, but it was out of my way on this day. In addition, when ordering, I told the girl that I did not want the red/pink sauce that usually comes with the Crab Rangoon but could I please have a couple of extra servings of the sauce that comes with the steamed dumplings instead. I could not believe I was charged $3.00 for two of the very small containers of that brown sauce. I would have thought one would offset the other. And come to find out, I was overcharged on the CT sales tax. For those who frequent Tai Jiang, check your receipts. This should teach me to check mine before leaving an establishment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Tai Jiang. read more

Do not order anything that is a mix of meat and vegetables, because you will be getting a pound of slimy vegetables and three pieces of meat. I understand that this place is cheap, but it doesn't even give you your money's wort. I really like tai jiang! I usually get the vegetable lo mein and an egg roll. I think there egg rolls have gotten smaller but they're still good. Their lunch menu is a good deal. It's around $6 for fried rice and a chicken combo kind of thing. They have other good prices for lunch too. You should check out the menu. The people there are really nice too! read more

My go to Chinese take out spot. Nothing fancy, but it checks all the boxes when it comes to good take out. X Cheap. X Tasty. X Fast. X Variety. They have a huge menu with great "combination plates" that are under $10 and have enough food for a dinner and left overs tomorrow. My favorite dish is the spare ribs. If you ask they'll cut the meat off the bone for you. It's delicious! My girlfriend isn't a fan though. She feels the food is a little too greasy for her tastes. read more

I love their food but I am tired of them being rude to black people. I ordered over $70 worth of food. Get in there. No acknowledgement to me standing there then she takes a phone call that lasted 7 whole minutes (which is long to stand somewhere with not even a hold on I'll be with you in a second. Smh) so finally she heads over to my "big" order that's been sitting there while I wait. She says "you have a big order, right?!" I answer yes. I ALWAYS have a big order, every time (which is 2/3 times a month) I order from here. So you would think I would be greeted with at least a friendly hello, but nope. White lady is standing behind me and after I pay and make my way out I see the Chinese lady give her a friendly greeting and prompt service smh. This is not the first time this has happened and I'm sick of it! Do better! You want our money, (my BIG order) treat us just like you treat others. I am a human being (just like her, just like the white lady!) patronizing your business. Show some appreciation! It's 2021 people really need to grow in the heart department! Cheap and disgusting. Their dishes range from bland tasting to over saturated in globs of dark concentrated sugary sauces.
