There is plenty of parking available.they have street parking and various parking lots on the area. The location is on a one way street that was a bit of a pain to get to. The workers were super nice and friendly. They checked in on us to make sure we didn't have any issues ordering. The ordering site though was such a pain. I couldn't tell if items that I wanted were checked off and instead of being able to edit them once added to the cart, the item would have to be deleted and done over again. We were more frustrated with the website than anything. Food came out at a reasonable time. We were a party of 5. They have bells to ring as a thank you to the wait staff. Inside was pretty packed with people. They have an order option for to go orders. I LOVED the food. The combination of Jamaican meets Asian fusion was on point. The ox tail bao buns were so amazing and didn't disappoint. The combo of the sauce, ox tail, and sweet plantains were worth every penny. I ordered the curry chicken ramen and the mix of the curry with the pork soup option was delicious. We also had the jerk chicken ramen. Warning if you don't like spice, the jerk chicken does come with a kick so if you order spice level for your bowl, it'll add a level of added spice to it. We waited over 30 minutes and our food never came. Meanwhile, three other tables that arrived after us were served before we were. The only thing we received were our drinks at the beginning and that was it. When we asked the staff about the delay, we were simply told they would check with the chef, and later that the food was still being prepared. There was no sense of urgency, no apology, and no effort to make things right. We ended up leaving out of frustration. Wow. I can't believe they have been in New Rochelle for SO LONG and I've never tried them. We went for book club and we were pleased! It's a smaller shop so it's expected that you might wait a bit for a table because there are no reservations! The food was great! I first got the Oxtail Bao buns and wow! A fusion HIT. The oxtail was tender and flavorful. The boa bun was light and airy. The sauce and plantain complimented the meat well. I originally order Jerk Chicken ramen but had to send it back because it was SPICY. It was 10000% my fault. I got the BBQ chicken ramen instead and it was more my speed! The Broth was flavorful and the eggs, scallions, corn, carrots, and nori were helped elevate the dish! My friends got the karaage (so crispy!!!) and dumplings (fried, classic). Now this is some elite ramen! It's packed with flavors that you don't get from traditional ramen however it's ramen but with an elevated palate. Went to Roc N Ramen last night to catch up with a friend over dinner. I haven't been here since the first opened around 12 years ago. We were seated almost immediately, so there was no wait. The restaurant had patrons but wasn't super crowded when we arrived. I will say that the space is cramped and doesn't leave much room for others to pass through. They are EXTREMELY busy in there with mostly mobile orders (about 60% being taken out of the restaurant). The service was just OK, honestly. Everything is done on the phone via QR code including ordering and payment. It's cool if you like that, but I'm old school. I need you to come and take my order from an actual menu. They had a dancehall mix playing from YouTube and I appreciated it being at an appropriate volume. On to the food: We wanted cocktails, but the bartender wasn't working, so none of those were available. The only alcoholic beverages available were cut waters, which we passed on. We started with the oxtail bao buns which were FIRE! They were absolutely delicious, tender, and flavorful. For the entree, I ordered the grilled shrimp rice bowl and my friend had oxtail ramen. My bowl was pretty tasty and the portion was large (probably enough for two meals). We waited around 25-30 mins for our main dish, which is too long in my opinion, but I chalked that up to the massive amount of mobile orders. Still not terrible timing considering. I have heard good things about this New Rochelle "Black Owned" business and I hope one day to actually visit the restaurant in person. So my review is based solely on a take out order. The owner even called me to make sure that I had everything and that everything was satisfactory. How many places do that?!?? I even received text messages to inform me of my courier's exact location! So tracking was easy! As for what I ordered...everything was delicious and the portions were good too. I ordered Karaage, which is strips of breaded white meat chicken served with scallions, a wedge of lemon and 2 dipping sauces. Good portion!! I also ordered a side of oxtail (very tender and well seasoned), steamed Gua Bao pork buns and Spicy Bone Yard Rib Tip Ramen. I opted for non-spicy because I didn't know how much "heat" they'd have. Ambiance: 8/10 When I first walked into the restaurant, it was very crowded. Off the bat, I knew the food would be good if a restaurant of this caliber had that many customers. The only thing I will say about the restaurant is that I wish it was bigger. There are not that many tables and chairs, in my opinion, to accommodate a decent size. I am sure that anything is possible. As familiar as I am with New Rochelle, I am not in that area every day. I'd say I am in that area roughly once if not twice a month. Roc and Ramen are not out there like that to where you'd know that the restaurant is present. You could walk past it and you wouldn't have known its presence. As far as wait time goes, I wish the restaurant was big enough to accommodate the people who are waiting to be seated. Service: I find their service to be rather interesting. Depending on the time you go and how many people you have with you, you may have to wait a little while. But once you are seated, it's not your average service where a waiter or a waitress approaches you asking you if you like to order. They have a QR code. You'd scan it, scroll on the menu, pick what you want, and pay for it accordingly. As far as I know, this is one of the few restaurants that does not take cash. I could be mistaken. Feel free to correct me. But it does make paying for your meal a lot easier. Food: I ordered their oxtail Ramen. They did not disappoint. It was just amazing. To think that a cuisine like the Caribbean and for something like Ramen to go together. It's unique. I like that they give you the option to make the Ramen either spicy or mild. I like how they still made the ramen the traditional way but added their twist to the dish. The dish is not as expensive as other places I know. Is this the very best ramen I've ever had? No. But I've eaten a ton of ramen all over NYC and the surrounding area. But it's pretty good ramen right here in New Rochelle, and the staff are great! This is a small, dimly lit place with a few tables and a bar that backs right up to the kitchen/grills. We had the gyoza dumplings with veggies. Very crispy and good flavors. I had the jerk chicken ramen, made with noodles, shiitake mushrooms, scallions, carrots, corn, egg, edible flowers, sesame seeds, fried onions, nori seaweed, tonkatsu/jerk broth. I also purchased broccoli for 2 dollars extra. The broccoli was good, but a pretty small portion for two bucks. But then again, inflation is killing us all. Anyway, this dish came with the disclaimer, "Jerk chicken is meant to be spicy, mild is not possible if you want a true Jerk experience." I got the extra spicy, and it was very pleasant heat, not overbearing. While I loved this dish packed with veggies and tender chicken, I could have done without the seaweed. It wasn't a huge part of the dish, but it didn't add anything for me, and I felt it maybe added a bit of musty flavor to the dish. My husband had the veggie curry ramen, with noodles, scallions, carrots, corn, egg, edible flowers, sesame seeds, fried onions, seaweed, and tonkatsu/curry broth. He really enjoyed his. He got mild, but said the dish still had flavor. They also have ramen dishes made with curry bbq tips, bbq chicken, curried shrimp, curried oxtail, pineapple jerk chicken (which is what I would like to try next), and more. They also have rice bowls and a kids menu. They have some fun Japanese sodas to try as well as some basic cocktails. You have a server, but you order and pay directly on a QR menu. Some people might not be fans, but we didn't mind this and thought it was efficient. Despite that, our server checked on us often. Where do I begin this review? Let's just say my overall experience will go down as one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. And my biggest issue was not the subpar food (which woah, what a letdown) but the service. I could live with mediocre ramen but terrible customer service? Absolutely not. Surprise, surprise there was no oxtail available, actually many items on the menu were not available. Mind you, we had arrived at the restaurant on a Monday around 3 pm (for your reference the place opens at 12 noon). Alright, unfortunate but no problem. So my folks and I settled for 2 Jerk BBQ Chicken Ramen, 1 Tonkotsu Ramen and an appetizer, 3 pork bao buns. It had taken about 40 mins to get the first dish. Yes, 1 dish, not even the appetizer first but 1 Jerk BBQ Chicken Ramen. The dish was served with noodles in broth, a side of jerk chicken, and corn. Simple, it didn't quite look like the dish we had seen on the menu or online. But what do we know, it's our first time. We wait a bit for the rest, maybe 30 mins go by and the food had finally arrived, or so I was hoping. What we got was an additional 2 Jerk BBQ chicken Ramen. No Tonkotsu Ramen or appetizer in sight. So, I asked the waitress, genuinely confused, "Is this Tonkotsu Ramen?" and she replies "Oh no, that's not it." Funny, weren't you the one to serve it? Ok. So she takes the dish back. While I wait for my meal, my family is trying out their dishes. We noticed how different the orders were, as if one was for a child and the other for an adult (which had carrot, scallion onions, a flower, a larger portion size-the whole bit). Come to find out, we were right. Somehow the waitress had mixed up our order with another table (not surprising). On top of that, the ramen tasted bland and soggy. I then asked about the appetizer for the second time. To which their responses were dismissive as if I was the one who'd forgotten about it! Finally, the Tonkotsu arrived and it was a disappointment. The pork has been nothing but fat and the broth was bland and uninspired. At this point, I was ready to cut my losses and go home. But of course, we had the pork bao buns left. I knew it would not be worth the wait but my family insisted on giving it a try-a chance. And the pork bao bun was okay if burnt pork is your thing. But what were we expecting? In the end, we spent a whopping 2 hrs at a restaurant that couldn't be bothered to do their job. Not an ounce of human courtesy shown or the minimum level of professionalism given. When I asked about our order, the young man in charge said I hadn't placed one until I showed my receipt--even though we had already received our appetizer. I will say I did not step foot into the establishment so I cannot speak on waitstaff or ambiance. I ordered online and had it picked up. The good arrived nicely packed. I was surprised when the kids dish was almost as large as mine. I got the jerk shrimp ramen minus corn and my daughter the kids tonkotsu ramen. I was disappointed mine did not come with crispy onions or any nori and my daughter was disappointed she also didn't get nori, bean sprouts or a flower. However this was made up in flavor. These ramen were super flavorful and delicious. The jerk was still spicy for advertised as a mild option. I can take the heat...I'm Jamaican. But for let's say a child or someone spice adverse, that could've been a problem. The pork belly was good, crispy but tender. The eggs were cooked perfect as well, with a soft yolk. My only disappointment was the lack of advertised items in the dishes. Also I ordered a side of pork belly for myself which I did not see. However, when ordering for delivery, be prepared to wait it will take some time for you to get your food - and communicating with the restaurant won't prove to be successful as You won't get anyone on the phone and using the link they restaurant provides also don't work. We were greeted when we walked in but after that no interaction, typically when you walk in a restaurant the common questions they ask is this your first time eating here ? Do you need help with the menu etc They did none of that just sat on their phones until our order went through! Didn't check on us the entire time . The only reason your restaurant is getting two stars is because the food was good . Ramen had more noodles and ingredients than many other places I've gone, but at the expense of the tasty broth. (Many other places I've visited give a 2/3-filled quart container of broth, this place underfilled a pint container.) The price is a little on the high side, especially for a pork bun that had less meat than a McDonald's hamburger, but the flavor and presentation was excellent. This is my third visit here, and I really want to love this place. The servers are friendly, and the atmosphere is great. The food is delicious, and I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for one recurring issue. Every time I've eaten here, I've ended up with stomach issues, specifically diarrhea, a few hours later. I'm not sure if it's related to the busboy/server using the same gloves for clearing tables and serving food, or perhaps the large garbage bags I saw piled up in the back.
