This is my second visit to Ikedo Eatery! It was a nice calm Sunday. Funny enough I had the same server that was lovely the first time serving me and my friend again. Kaylee was helpful, a great listener, and kind throughout our whole experience there. She is the absolute best! I made my own vegan ramen and it was sooooo yummy! The noodles and the broth were fantastic. I love that I can choose a variety of mushrooms to eat with my broth. My friend loved his protein bowl that was a great price of $8 for sooo much food. The chicken was crunchy and flavorful. Cooked to perfection. Their sauces are also really good. The matcha bubble tea is made with authentic matcha and it was so yummmy. The ramen has good flavor even though the pork proteins seemed to lack a char or something of that nature that I'm used to. Unfortunately the sushi disappointed. The tuna roll with crispies had barely any tuna in it. The crispy parts were like a bit of rice crispies sprinkled on top. Eel avocado roll was better but overall a lot of rice and not much filling. With this price at this area, with the quality of food and service, this is definitely a steal. The chicken karage are so juicy and tender, and they come in big pieces too. The beef is also really flavorful, with the sweet soy sauce which tasted addicting. The chicken ramen has a really soothing broth, and I love how the citrus chicken is very juicy and tender, even though is made of chicken breast. Definitely a healthy option to order the chicken breast if you want something with less saturated fat. read more

We come to Port Washington often for my daughter's extracurricular activities, but it's been a while since we dined at Ikedo as a family. This visit was a bit mixed. Service started off slow -- it took some time before our order was taken. I decided to try the chashu donburi; while it looked appetizing, the sauce on the chashu was a little too overbearing for my taste. On the positive side, my family enjoyed their ramen, and for the first time, we were presented with a kids' menu, which was a nice touch. I went to this restaurant on Saturday and unfortunately had a really upsetting experience. While I was there, I heard the woman yelling terrible and disturbing things at the employees. Plus, I think I heard throwing of thing?! It was completely unprofessional and honestly uncomfortable to witness. No one deserves to be treated like that -- employees are human beings, not slaves. A respectful work environment matters, and seeing staff spoken to in such a harsh way completely changed my opinion of this place. Because of what I witnessed, I will not be returning. He took our order & then another 2 tables. Then came back to ask us if we liked our food. I came in Saturday and am completely appalled by the behavior of what I can only assume is the unprofessional owner. The staff were drowning in orders and were trying their best, do you really think screaming profanities at them and causing a mess by throwing sauces on the floor will help them work better? In my 52 years of life, I have never heard someone dehumanize and speak like this to other human beings. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are selling noodles and fried chicken cutlets to children, does that constitute that amount of degradation to your own staff? I am obsessed Ikedo Ramen! Honestly the best Japanese food in the area. I am a big fan of ramen and this place made me start enjoying curry. The service is great and their lunch specials is unbeatable. Great price with great service and best of all, great food. Sometimes places are great in person but aren't the best for take out but this is not the case with Ikedo Ramen. I had it for lunch at the office and it was to the same standard. Came here for some ramen as we were in the neighborhood. Wifey ordered the seafood ramen as she didn't want the tonkatsu ramen. But I would have loved to have tried it. Instead I ordered the octopus balls as I can't eat that much. Both dishes tasted great! The environment was very clean and neat. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. They are nice to let us dine in within an hour of closing recently, so there's a bonus point just for that, if you ask me. We sat down and put in the orders within minutes and the food came out, as expected, within a few minutes, with ramen arriving appropriately after the bun and the agedashi tofu. Agedashi tofu was decent, but the bao bun had a little too much mayo/sauce but otherwise fine. Considering that this was well past their peak hours, the tonkotsu ramen was as tasty as in pictures on the menu, although the chashu could have been more tender. If we lived closer we would definitely go back during the day, and maybe we will! read more

Ramen is good any day but it especially hits the spot when you want a satisfying meal all in one bowl and at a great price. What I loved most about Ikedo, is their build your own feature. Sure, it's still a great value to order any of the many varieties of ramen bowls already listed on the menu but with my picky eater, I love that they allow you to create and customize your own. For my clan, it just makes sense. The ramen broth here doesn't rival my favorites in Manhattan but I will say, it's very good. I especially like the variety of toppings so I could always add more of what I like! Hubby likes extra noodles, check. My kids both love extra eggs, check. And I like adding black garlic oil and fried tofu to my ramen which I did exactly on this first time visit. Appetizer menu had dumplings, fried chicken, edamame, and other familiar offerings. But we went with Takoyaki (fried octopus balls) and Fried squid tentacles (which was paired with a chipotle mayo) and both were awesome. Great value and guess what?! A cool dessert menu to boot. Public service announcement: their clearly labeled vegan ramen is actually NOT VEGAN. Had issues at least 5 times where I ordered the vegan ramen and they gave me non-vegan ramen (either the broth was not vegan---legit they gave me pork tonkatsu broth one time--- or the actual ingredients in the bowl were not vegan). Each time they corrected it...or so I thought. Most recently, my "vegan ramen" had an egg on top. Asked them why they gave me an egg on top of my vegan ramen and they're like, oh you don't want the egg? Um no....egg is not vegan. Then they proceed to tell me all of their noodles contain egg, even the ones in the "vegan ramen". So I ask then why do you have vegan ramen on the menu that you serve with non-vegan noodles that contain egg (and for all I know, probably with meat/non vegan broth). And they reply, that might be an oversight on our menu, we're sorry about that. So...beware if you're vegan or have allergies because this place is selling egg noodles labeled as vegan. read more

First off- this is my go to spot for Boba Tea. I've tried milk teas from many different spots but Ikedo is just the best in my opinion; far superior to Vivi and all those other boba tea spots. Creamy, flavorful and delicious. Secondly and most importantly, today I ordered Vegan fried rice because my daughter has an allergy to egg and dairy products. I quickly realized there was egg in it and left feedback. Within minutes I received a text offering a refund or delivery of the correct item. I've ordered food from here for delivery 3 times and the experience has been great every time. The food gets delivered in under 45 minutes and is still hot upon arrival. I always get the shrimp stir fry ramen or Chashu ramen along with a few appetizers. The beef short ribs and chicken wings nagoya are my faves. Their stir fry ramen & ramen in noodle soup are all really delicious. The broth is rich & flavorful and the meats are tender. This is the most authentic Japanese ramen spot I have ever tried by me without having to drive to Flushing (or leave the house). I've dined in once with my colleagues a while ago and there is plenty of metered parking right in front of the restaurant as well as indoor seating. Food, service, ambiance - all great! I came here with 7 other girls on a Sunday at 2pm with a reservation in advance. They were accommodating to our size even when we brought in an extra person and there was evidently good business here. For apps, we got the Chicken Karaage and Takoyaki. The karaage was huge, crunchy, and flavorfully yummy especially when dipped in the sauce provided. The takoyaki balls were a bit smaller than what I tried elsewhere but soft and warm inside. For the main, I got the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and as you can see in the picture, it's literal perfection to the eye! Tastewise, it had a strong taste of spice (might be too spicy for some) but it was deeply flavored. The chashu pork slices were also delicious! Overall, the whole experience was good and although the food wasn't mind blowing (compared to ramen places in the city), it was really good and satisfying to have something comparable in Port Washington. I went to IKEDO as part of a fundraising event for my school district. Looking at the menu, which has plenty of pictures, my kids and I were able to get a whole selection of ramen: tonkatsu, miso, etc. Food: the ramen was fresh and a little al dente, not soggy like some other places. The toppings were generous and the broth was flavorful. We also ordered some takoyaki and chicken wings. Service: we ordered the appetizers as part of happy hour, which is supposed to be from 3 to 5. We got in at 4:55 PM, but they refused to honor the happy hour prices: boo! Ambience: very clean and modern design for dining room. They also have outdoor dining in the back. Have to say I came in totally skeptical and left completely full and impressed. One of the newbs in the growing restaurant scene in Port Washington and sadly opened as the pandemic was beginning, I believe... but I think they have a great product and will thrive through all these ridiculous restaurant restrictions. The space is clean, safe and nicely decorated. Staff was sweet and attentive too. Onto the food! Ordered the fried jalepeño Kani poppers like app: fresh and crispy and a good balance of some spicy and some salty sweet; age tofu: lightly battered and silky that melted. Both presented beautifully and piping hot. The char siu ramen broth has a deep salty umami flavor and balanced well with the chewy almost al dente ramen noodles. Char siu pieces were generous and had a nice smoky char to them. The Tsukemen dipping noodles came out warm and the sauce had a nice addictive kick to it. Again both beautifully presented. I love that they offer bobba and milk tea too! Try this place out, especially if you're hankering for a bowl of Japanese ramen and can't get out of town and into the city! This place is one of my go to places when I visit Port Washington. My kids always get excited when we go, too. Always kept clean in the restaurant, they greet as soon as you enter, nice customer service, and most importantly great flavor! My favorite is Kuro Ramen which has spicy garlic with Miso base broth. My friends and I stopped in for dinner yesterday and were very excited to try the new Ichiddo Ramen, given that there aren't very many ramen options on Long Island. We knew that they'd just opened less than two weeks ago and had heard they initially had an overwhelming number of customers - enough that it was difficult for them to balance dine in and online orders and that wait times could be longer than a full hour. Thankfully, when we walked in (around 6 pm on a Monday), the restaurant wasn't full; patrons were able to sit at every other table to maintain some level of social distancing. (I would have preferred for us to be able to dine outside, but they only had one table set up outdoors, and it seemed quite far from where staff would be able to see us.) We did still have to wait quite a while for our orders to arrive, perhaps 20 minutes for our appetizer and another 20 minutes after that for our ramen, but we assumed this was more growing pains and hoped their service would improve over the next several weeks. For me, the takoyaki was a solid 4/5. The texture (ever so slightly crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside with a nicely cooked piece of octopus) and taste were spot on. I would have liked for them to be shaped more spherical (some of the pieces turned out more like half moons) and for there to be more sauce on top, but nitpicking aside, I would go back here for the takoyaki alone. The ramen, I had mixed feelings about. The broth and noodles were delicious, but the charsiu/chashu pork was a little too room-temp and tough for my liking - as if it had been sitting out for too long. The "half cooked" egg also left something to be desired as it was more on the overcooked side and lacked the custard-y texture so characteristic of a ramen egg. As it stands, I would give Ichiddo a 3.5/5. I believe it's a decent ramen option in general and has all the potential for greatness once the staff gets used to the pace and demands of the restaurant. I am very much looking forward to visiting again, although I think I'll give them another month or so to work out the kinks of food/customer service. read more

My friend and I met here for dinner and she recommended that I try this restaurant. For a ramen spot on Long Island, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed! I think this will be my go-to for ramen when I don't feel like venturing far from now on :) The food was also very affordable. For dinner, I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen. The pork was nice and tender and cooked perfectly! It was also seasoned very well. The ramen had a very generous noodle portion and the noodles were soft to chew. The broth in the ramen had a good spice level to it overall, and wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. Definitely one of the best ramen dishes I've had in a while. For dessert, I ordered the Boba Crepe Cake, which was the perfect way to end off the night. The cake had a generous amount of boba and it was nice and soft to dig into. Can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu! Just a heads up that if you sit outdoors, you may encounter some bees! I wasn't in the mood for ramen until this restaurant ended up in my recommendations and I saw the pictures and I immediately ordered for pick-up as soon as I saw spicy tonkotsu. They give you the option to get extra spicy or extra extra spicy. I love spicy food so I didn't hesitate to chose extra extra spicy. The Pick up process was super easy and quick. Staff is friendly, I will definitely be dining here soon for the full experience. upon opening my take out the aroma from the broth was super appetizing, and the ramen which was in a separate bowl looked mouthwatering. Now as a complete mix everything complimented each other. The broth has the perfect flavor, the ramen noodle absorbed the broth and it was the perfect spicy level. It wasn't too spicy but it was just the right amount, in the simplest terms the spiciness didn't over power the flavor. I would definitely recommend this dish if your a spicy garlic lover. It was so good. And truth be told I don't usually finish my ramen I always have some left over BUT this was so good I licked my bowl clean! read more
