Karaage Chicken with a side of salad and rice
    Lia R.

This place is so cozy, it's small but I love the ambiance. I sat outside and felt comfortable. I went back in 2022 and am still thinking about their ramen so so so much, that now that I'm finally going back to the city next month in June of 2026, I googled their location once again, and felt prompted to write a review on them. Their food was just that good! 100% recommend. I ordered Karaage Chicken (I think that's how you spell it) with a side of rice, and their salad with their special sauce. Foaming at the mouth just thinking of the sauce.

Everyone that knows me knows I would kill for some ramen. The assumption is always that in New York the best is downtown but this place beats that stereotype. They have great combos, everything is always cooked to perfection and the menu is very straight forward. No fluff, or gimmicks this place's food speaks for itself! The staff here is quick on their feet which I love because usually when I visit it's on limited time. One day, I do want to come with enough time to enjoy the vibes. The place is smaller than most, but clean and cozy. I recommend calling if you're a group of 3 or more. Every single thing I've had here (close to the entire menu) is cooked to perfection and the panda cup they have is SUPER adorable. Their drinks always do the job! I recommend any sake! If you're in the area I beg you to try this place out! My absolute FAVORITE.

It was long awaited, but we finally made it in for dinner. Got in at 5pm and the place filled up fast. We ordered two cocktails (highly recommended the Lychee Martini), spicy wontons, two ramens, and spicy salmon onigiri. The wontons could have came out a little warmer, but overall the food was perfect. Both service and ambiance were great. We definitely plan on coming back at night to see the vibe. Highly recommend!

Delicious and lowkey neighborhood staple. I usually go for ramen but the bao bun and dumplings are equally as delicious. Perfect for a chill and intimate meal solo or partnered, especially in the colder months.

Food was delicious! Curry Ramen was flavorful and hearty. The chicken bao buns were also delicious! 10/10. The house ginger ale was great! Has a real ginger flavor. Yummm

Was quite surprised to stumble upon a ramen place like this in Washington Heights. Of most the ramen places in the area, I would say this may have been one of the better ones I had the opportunity to try. There is not a lot of seating and it's quite a small restaurant. There are about 10 or so bar seats available for people planning on eating here so it's not the best place for groups. The service was quite fast. It's a very streamlined place with quick service. There was only one person managing all the dine in services and he was quite nice. I ordered a mini spicy miso ramen combo with pork gyoza and was a big fan of the idea of mini ramen combos. I feel like ramen bowls are quite filling and expensive alone I tend to feel guilty about ordering an appetizer but this avoided that for me. Of the ramen I have had in Washington heights this is definitely on the better tasting end. They only provided 3 pork gyozas which I evaporated quite fast. I feel like the chicken karage is a better option for the mini ramen combos. It was relatively inexpensive and was quite fast to come out, the meal was done within an hour. I would recommend this place to the crowd of folks craving ramen this far north in Manhattan.

Let me tell you, this hole in the wall shop can take my money any day of the week now. I came in here looking for some good ramen in the upper part of Manhattan. I was happily surprised when I saw a spot that had great reviews. When I arrived, I was surprised by how small it was. I got there and had to wait (which in my mind was a good sign). I waited about 20 minutes to get a seat for 2. Note that these are all like "bar" seating with about 10 seats across the entire venue. I grabbed the menu and immediately ordered a beer and dumplings as an appetizer. I enjoyed them both. Next came the Ramen. I got the Spicy Miso Ramen. I thoroughly enjoyed this and actually asked from chili flakes on the side to make it spicier (it could've used more of a kick). Was super happy with the food, the quick service and the ambiance. Already have come back once and will make another review about that experience, but want to come back to eat more for sure!

This is the menu description for the dish. Peppers, shiitake mushrooms, etc.

Absolutely horrendous experience tonight. I ordered my food online at 8:15 p.m. and arrived at 8:40. I then sat and waited another 25 minutes for the order to be completed. When I arrived, they told me it would be ready in 2 minutes. I finally walked out with my food at 9:05 p.m. -- 50 minutes to receive two pork bao buns and the vegetable curry rice. I walked home in the pouring, freezing rain, only to discover that the curry rice was completely wrong. What I received was basically a bowl of potatoes -- no peppers, no mushrooms, nothing even close to what the menu describes. According to the menu, the vegetable curry rice is supposed to include egg, bean sprouts, lotus root, and shiitake mushrooms. Instead, I got a bowl of whatever they threw together and rushed out the door. I couldn't return it due to the weather, so I was stuck with an incorrect and carelessly prepared order. Not only will I never spend another dollar at this establishment, but I plan to share this experience with others in the Hudson Heights/Washington Heights community so they're aware of this failure.

One of those lucky accidents. Easy to walk past if you're not looking for it. The entrance is subtle, almost like a hallway leading you somewhere. But once you're inside, the vibe is genuinely good. Not trying too hard, just comfortable and cool. I had a couple cocktails while I was there. They have a solid bar program and everything I tried landed. Then I got the Spicy Tan Tan and it was exactly what I wanted. The broth was the star. Deep, rich, and had just the right kick without going overboard. I finished every last drop, which honestly says it all. This is the kind of place you go back to. Already thinking about when I'll be back in New York.

This one is located in NYC Manhattan 36th street. It's not very noticeable but has large door with its name on it. Inside is small space with bar counter, table and seats and kitchen at the end with dim lighting with pop music. We made a reservation but looks was it wasn't too busy since it had just opened at 11:45am. We were quickly sat down and looked through the menu with scan code. They offer variety of Japanese and fusion dish like tebasaki chicken wings, buns, rice ball, and few noodle dish like hiyashi chuuka cold noodle, ramen, tsukemen, and mazemen. We ordered few appetizers like chashu rice ball, mushroom buns, and i got spicy tan tan ramen and my partner got the miso ginger ramen. Chashu rice ball came with chashu, sauce, rice wrapped with nori. It's more like a sushi roll than a rice ball but it was ok. The pork was a bit dry and was messy to eat. Although it has omikuji/fortune slip inside that you pull out which is a unexpected fun addition to the dish. I ended up getting daikichi which means great luck. Mushroom buns were fluffy, flavorful and tasty despite vegetarian option. The spicy tan ramen was spicy, creamy and savory. The ramen came with half egg, few slices of chashu, menma, ground pork with spicy miso which you mix together. The broth is combination of rich, spicy and creamy and pretty strong sesame flavor. Noodles are thicker and chewer than what i'm used to. Chashu was nice and tender. menma was ok not very flavorful. Overall a solid ramen but not particularly special. I honestly prefer ichiran better. Service was good and staffs were attentive Overall a good experience but it didn't stand out enough for me to come back. Cool place and maybe nice for dates or if you want to drink as well. Price is definitely on the higher side for ramen. I've had ramen in Japan and my standard is high but i can find similar type of restaurant that is cheaper closer to home in US.

I have a shrimp allergy and politely asked if the shrimp tempura could be substituted. The server immediately said no, without offering any alternative or showing much concern. He said I can remove it myself. I said so let the shrimp inside the bowl for me to remove? WTH. For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.
