As soon as I heard that this is a concept from the owners of Boca's House I knew that it would be good. Located in a strip mall in Doral, parking was no hassle. I didn't browse the menu too much because I immediately noticed the $45 pre fixe dinner menu and jumped on the deal. The Peruvian and Japanese fusion just works perfectly. I started out with the shrimp ceviche that had leche de Tigre, very light and delicious option. The tokio roll was very cool with the soy paper wrap and crispy quinoa. Overall the roll has some unique combinations but it just works very well. I then finished off with the passion fruit mousse. Everything was portioned perfectly and I felt like it satisfied every craving I had. The restaurant itself is a little cold but aside from that no complaints on ambiance. We didn't have a reservation and had to wait about 20 min. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks which were reasonably priced and very good. We had the Lychee Prosecco, Lychee Martini, and the Passionfruit Mojito. The food: We started with the crispy rice which was very good. Our waitress gave great service and when I asked for no peanuts in my food she thought it was due to an allergy and even alerted me that the oil was cooked with peanut oil. We assured her it wasn't for allergies but thanked her for asking. Since every place I go, no one has ever asked if it was allergies. Got two mojitos, classic and passion fruit, and both delicious. Taikin Asian Cuisine is a great spot for elevated Asian food in Doral! Although in an unsuspecting plaza, this spot can get quite the crowd in the middle of a weekday. I came here for a belated birthday celebration, double date & it was such a great pick! We found this spot perusing the Miami Spice website and really loved their menu so we came to try it for lunch on a Tuesday. It was super easy to make a reservation via the link on their website, even if it was within the hour before arriving. We were seated super quick once arriving and the server was super attentive. We already knew what to get off the Miami Spice menu and wasted no time ordering. Our table got a few different things and we all shared so we could taste a bit of everything off the menu! For $30, their menu includes your choices of a small plate, a main plate, and a dessert. We ended up getting each of the small plates: spring rolls, shrimp ceviche, and nippon antojitos. Each of them were so good but my absolute favorite was the nippon antojitos- crispy shrimp wrapped in sweet plantain, topped with osaki kani salad, spicy mayo and eel sauce. For the main plates, we got the creamy bacon wagyu udon, taikin bomb roll, and the Miami roll. The creamy bacon wagyu udon was okay. It seemed that they may have cooked it on a higher heat and it wasn't as creamy as we expected with a bit more chunkiness to the egg cream sauce and the bacon wagyu not as tasty. Still overall an okay dish. The rolls though, were on point! The Taikin bomb roll was a fan favorite and if you like truffle and different flavor profiles, you'd love this roll! The Miami roll was also really good and a great staple if you like a more classic roll with shrimp tempura. For dessert, we got to try the tres leches and the nutella mousse. Both were good (served in little mason jars) but the tres leches was a clear winner amongst our group. Overall, such a great spot and I would definitely come back here, even after Miami Spice is over! read more

This was my second time coming here, this time with a friend to try the Miami Spice Dinner Menu and it was totally worth it! The food was delicious and well worth the money. The atmosphere is trendy with moderate noise and very quick service. Our server, Leo, was attentive and gave us great recommendations on the best dishes. Taikin is one of those rare few restaurants where every single menu item is 5 stars, delicious, and made to perfection with satisfying flavors and presentation. The menu is complete and has a little for everyone's palate. Among our favorites are Creamy Udon noodles, fried rice, their fresh fish special, miso soup, and literally any of their special rolls. The prices are a bit high, but I noticed online that they have a lunch special of an appetizer and 2 small portions of select entrees. For some reason I wasn't given a menu that showed this when I went in, but the server confirmed it. It took about 15 minutes for my server to take my order, but after service was quick. I ordered shrimp lollipops, the tiger roll, and orange bbq ribs. I enjoyed all three, although the bbq sauce was just alright in my opinion. The seats were quite comfortable but all the tables are very close to each other. Make sure you tuck in your elbows when people are passing by or else you might accidentally elbow a server like I did. The decor is quite nice, they have good music, and I loved all their unique plates and little soy sauce teapots. Be aware that tip is included so you don't accidentally tip twice. read more

This place is definitely a must-go in Doral. Taikin is a Japanese restaurant with a Latin twist, which is also great if you are trying sushi for the first time. I have been to this place multiple times, and my boyfriend started liking sushi because of it. They offer a variety of sushi rolls, ceviches, sashimi, rice, noodles, ramen, soups, and some combinations like Asian arepa or crab tostones; which I am a fan of!! Last night, we had spicy edamame as appetizers, which, for me, is the best edamame and my go-to. The crab tostones were our first time trying them out, and as I said, I consider myself a fan. The combination was great. Then, we had the volcano roll and dragon roll because what can go wrong with some classic rolls, right? They were good. I have to say, I liked the dragon roll more than the volcano, but the crab salad on top of the volcano was great. The service was great too, as always, and they even had this system where you just scan the QR code on your receipt and pay, which I loved! The only thing is that I always order takeout, and last night, we went to dine in. The place is beautiful, just that the music was really loud, and it was packed, on a Thursday. I came here with a girlfriend one night and the first thing she warned me was that the restaurant was loud. The place is in a shopping plaza and there is plenty of parking. When I walked in I will say the volume did hit me but once I was there for a bit you got used to it and I didn't feel like I had to talk loud or anything when we were seated. Server was on point. Although their menu online has a lot of good looking dishes, I feel the menu items that aren't sushi looked smaller in portion for the price so sushi was the way to go. I was very pleased with the amount of sushi for the price. And the FLAVORS. These sushi dishes were delicious!!!!! The Gaby was my favorite and then the Aventura was my second place but they were both amazing. I didn't even finish them all they were packed with ingredients and a good size (I took the rest to go for a midnight snack). I would recommend coming here for sushi. The menu at Taikin is HUGE, to the point where it's slightly overwhelming. There are so so so many options from sushi, raw bar apps, to warm noodle and rice meals, and kitchen apps. So if you get overwhelmed easily with what to order at a restaurant- be aware of how difficult it is to chose something here. That being said, there's something for everyone to order- lots of variety! For the apps, I tried the Rosa roll, the fried shrimp and the crispy calamari. All of those were super average. The smoked salmon in the Rosa roll was good but it tasted like straight mayo. The fried shrimp was literally just fried shrimp... nothing great at all. With that start I was very apprehensive for dinner, however, all of the dinner items were great. My sister and I shared taikin bomb roll and spicy tuna roll which were both great! The short rib and creamy short rib udon were both amazing too. ZSCHUAN NY Strip was also cooked to perfect. All the meat was super super tender. The only thing that kept me from enjoying my dinner was how ridiculously loud the music inside the restaurant was. There is a DJ inside giving that lively night time feel but as a restaurant this was way too much, to the point where I could barely hear across the table. (Just to note, I went to dinner at 6:30 pm... not late in the evening when loud music is more appropriate...). It was extremely overstimulating and loud. To sum up ratings and what we ordered: Front sushi - their riceless Naples roll (8/10) and back sushi - gaby roll (11/10 SO GOOD) Short rib ramen (6.5/10), Creamy udon (8/10 but such a small portion!), Chicken teriyaki (7.5/10 again small portion for price). Food: 8/10 Service: 5/10 basically non-existent because there is an automatic 18% tip applied. She never filled waters Price for what you get: 6/10 for entrees.
