This place is actually a solid vibe in Doral. The menu is pretty extensive, the sushi was fresh, and the BBQ chicken wings had a nice kick, overall, the food started off strong. I ordered the hibachi steak with fried rice, specifically asking for the rice extra crispy. I even reminded the waitress because I had a feeling it wouldn't come out that way. Sure enough, when it arrived, the rice wasn't crispy at all... just like the regular side I've had before. They took it back, and there I was waiting longer for my food. Then things took a turn. On one of my last bites of the fried rice, something literally poked my mouth. When I pulled it out, it was a long, thin wooden stick! almost like a toothpick, but not exactly. A wooden stick in my food? That instantly made me uncomfortable. What felt completely intentional due to the previous request, had me fearing for my safety! 10/10 I stumbled across this place in dorsal. The staff was absolutely amazing. I came on a Wednesday which was a great day really awesome drinks for just $10.99 a really good specialty rolls. The ambience from the place is really nice. They even offer an event room if you're interested in holding an event here it's a smaller more intimate setting. What a delicious place to grab a bite! This restaurant has a nice relaxing ambiance and tastefully decorated. One thing that really stood out to us is their menu because everything had a photo (making it tempting to want to order everything). It seems like they had not only sushi but Peruvian dishes as well, and some fusion of both going on. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted fresh. I just wish I didn't have to ask for so much ginger because every roll that came to our table has zero ginger on the side. We managed to make it to dessert and had the tempura icecream (not pictured) and that was just ok. The price I found a bit steep, but I guess because it's to be expected of Doral. I came for a birthday celebration they accommodated us at a table of 15 which is great. The food was good everything tasted fresh and the flavors were delicious, I started with salmon coquitos, and as a main plate I got the tempura Tokio rolls with delicious shrimp and sauce was a perfect combination. Everything is absolutely delicious, and it brings back a nostalgic feeling of when we lived in Venezuela. The very first sushi I ever tried, when I was around 10 years old, was from Bonsái, so you can imagine the sentimental value it holds for me. My all-time favorite is the Tokio Roll. I try to mix it up and try new things, but I always come back to it! I associate Bonsái so much with tempura rolls, and this one specifically. I love it! That being said, everything is amazing, and I recommend it without hesitation. For appetizers, our go-tos are: crab croquettes, Dyo Unagui, shrimp lollipops, dates (they have a very unique flavor), and the appetizer samplers, which are great if you want to try a little of everything--they're available for 2 or 4 people. Favorite rolls: Tokio Roll, Tiger Especial (another classic), Bonsái Roll, Shiraku Roll, Doral Roll, Miami Roll, Fuji Roll (we always ask for extra sauce), and Tatanui Roll.
