Came to Tailgate on Sunday. Two great pizza's to go. Taco pizza was awesome. Outstanding!

This place is a hidden gem right down the street from us. We walked in and were surprised by how much space there was in the brewery area. They had a great selection of beers and the food was delicious! We took a brewery tour and our tour guides were so friendly and the tour was actually very interesting. They also have tons of board games which made for a fun Saturday, battleship, beer, pizza, and garlic knockers (which I highly recommend)! The vibe here was very friendly and easy going and it is a family friendly establishment. We will definitely be coming back here for some great IPA's! read more

As a few others have mentioned, this place has potential. Only potential right now. We came for the official grand opening day, although this place has been soft open for a few weeks. We didn't do the free brewery tour they were offering, because we've done so many others across the country and they all end up being about the same. Had local live music going so that was cool. We headed straight to the bar to get a drink. That turned out to be next than impossible with the amount of people at 2 pm. Can't imagine the nightmare it would have been later in the evening. We knew it was opening day so didn't bother us too much. We grabbed our beers and sat down. They have picnic tables and other outdoor furniture inside their concrete walls with no natural light. They have outdoor game like corn hole, buts again, it's inside a dark room. I find it strange that a beer markets itself as "tailgate" beer but no patio. No windows. Straight dungeon. They definitely could have utilized that space better with more seating! We looked at the food menu while sitting down and immediately decided against ordering anything. It appears that a five year old made up the menu with Nutella sandwiches and BLT with peanut butter. That's not creative; it's nasty. Made the decision to leave and find a bar with a nice patio to celebrate the beautiful weather we were having Saturday. Getting our tab was horrific. I know it's busy. I know it's opening day. But you have 3 people trying to get beer for hundreds with 1 register that is also an iPad. And one waiter who doesn't know how to work it, thus slowing everyone else down. This place has a lot of good ideas, just poorly executed. Hoping they can turn it into something better, but my faith isn't too strong. read more

Okay, I was a little hesitant about coming here. It doesn't look like what you expect. They actually have great pizza here. Yes, it's a brewery and you can get your beer but it surprised me. I will be honest they this isn't a fancy place nor does it need to be. Don't mistake this as just another bar. There are families and kids eating here too. Do yourself a favor and try it. read more

I've been to Tailgate 4 or 5 times now, and I'm always really impressed with the beer selection they have. The brewery, built within an old Moose lodge, is relatively small for the variety of brews they produce onsite. There's lots of space for people, though, with a massive covered space in the back in addition to plenty of blacktop for hanging out and playing games. So back to the beer: Tailgate produces a large variety of beer and there is always something new to try. They clearly take a lot of pride in the stuff they produce, and most beers are pretty good, with some being great. The food is where this review lost a star...up until recently Tailgate had paninis and (I believe house made) kettle chips. These paninis were incredible...like sandwiches sent from above. They were crispy exactly where they were supposed to be and chewy where they were supposed to be, and just went incredible with a nice cold beer. So you can imagine my disappointment after hyping these up to my girlfriend all night, and arriving only to see that they have REMOVED them from the menu! They're replacing them with pizza and salads and wings...but I don't understand why we couldn't have both! This was such a blow to me that I considered giving them 3 stars. But, because you don't go to a brewery for the food typically, and because they haven't started serving the pizza/wings yet, and admittedly they could be heavenly as well, I'm giving them 4 stars. Plus, the friendliness and service has always been top notch. The bartenders are super helpful and kind, and don't rush you, even if there's a line. I took a late lunch the other day and had a few beers and a pizza at Tailgate. So many beer choices.... Sample tasting worked out well. So ask for a sample. Even bought a 6 pack of Southeast IPA to take home. Lasagna Pizza was really good. If your in the mood for a cocktail, they got you covered in the liquor department too. They don't make liquor, but they will make you a drink.... ;) read more

Great pizza, beer, and atmosphere. One of my favorite spots to hang and grab dinner and a beer. Love that they have games and tons of events (movie nights, bingo, trivia, etc.) Also the flavor of the fancy wings is incredible. But I will say the chicken is a little fatty. read more

Great food!! We ordered the Garlic Knockers and pizza of the day (Swedish Meatball) and loved both. They were steaming hot when they arrived at our table. Soooo tasty. Glad that a local craft brewery opened on the west side with some unique options that you can't find at most other places. They have a comfortable bar to hang out at and Drew is knowledgeable about the beers that they have, so if you want a recommendation based on a taste profile, he can tell you what is good or give you a sample to let you try before you order your drink. Unique setting on a hill with so much space for outdoor seating. They are dog friendly. We showed up on a night they were watching hockey (Go Preds!) both outside on a huge projector, and inside. Had a great time until I decided to get ice cream. 35 min. The ic guy was super detailed. But one at a time. And after all my friends left because they thought I left. It was melting everywhere. Visit this brewery today to use a Groupon that I had purchased and I can say they have lots of different beers, so if you really don't like new tasting beers then this is not the place for you. The service was great from the time we walked in until the time we left. They have plenty of parking and the best deal is to take the tour because you get to taste 4 beers for a small fee. This is a fun place to get together with friends on the weekend. TailGate has a big open space with lots of tables scattered throughout. They also have a room that has a large screen and a gaming console. We opted for the UNO cards. The 4 of us decided to get a flight each and see which one we would get a pint of. Largest and one of the best breweries in town. Incredible selection from pilsners to stoutsand some high gravity selections. Tailgate literally has a beer for every person. All the food is great from the sandwiches to the pizzas they offer. They have a great lunch special during the week that is only $10 for a pint and sandwich/small pizza with two toppings. My friend and I came to the tap room while on a short visit to Nashville. We certainly love our beer and this place was on point! Our bartender Drew was very friendly and attentive -- and we loved talking "beer" with him. The space is unique and the beer selection was fantastic. My personal favorites are the Horchata Stout and the Peanut Butter Milk Stout--my oh my! My friend enjoyed the HOT IPA (made with habaneros), and says it's one of the better spicy beers he's had. The Raspberry Tart is also a good choice if you like sour beers. Seriously, check this place out if you're in Nashville, if only for the super nice staff and awesome beer selection. We frequent quite often and went tonight for their movie series. The screen is a on a projection screen so get there early and sit close. Also plan on a 35 to 45 minute wait during busy time for food. Also pray you don't sit near the table of middle aged adults that only showed up to talk all time. I gave this place a bad review last year. Boy do I have a different opinion now. My bad review was based mostly on customer service at that time but now I haven't nothing but good to say about not only the customer service but also the food and beer selection. Lasagna pizza was awesome!! Atmosphere is much better and they have some really cool t shirts and hats to purchase. Had there not been a wreck holding up traffic I would have never stopped and given this place a second chance but boy am I glad I did. Would highly recommend!!! read more

Unable to respond to the owner who responded to my review....but really? How can you sit there and say you know which bartender it was if I never mentioned what day I was there? If you're assuming based on the day I posted the review you would sorely mistaken. This "extensive test" you have them take clearly doesn't describe what size system you use or the difference between an ale and a lager since she had no clue to either one. She was not the only one behind the bar that couldn't answer beer questions. Not to mention she looked like she hated her job. Never smiled once. Purchased a Groupon for two free beers and a Specialty pizza. I guess they frown upon the Groupons there bc we were treated like we were cheap. The beer that I picked was nasty and they would not let me get a different one. The bartender said, " We don't normally let people exchange a beer" so I waited for her to say, this time we will but she didn't. Oh well!! The pizza was delicious! We had the meat lovers. I also saw a sign when I was there that they have half off pizzas on Mondays. I would definitely go back. read more
