As a group, we had the spicy feta dip, garlic bread/knots, meat pizza, and lasagna pizza. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. It was a very casual atmosphere and was not terribly crowded even on a Sunday afternoon. It is a little unique in that you go to one area to order your beer and another area to order your food, but you can run the same tab. I selected a flight of pumpkin beers, all of which were very good. Others in the group had pints of their favorites. We did not go outside to the area where you can bring dogs since we did not have any with us. It was clean and everyone was very friendly. They did have a bunch of board games available although we did not take advantage of them. If we have friends in town that like the craft beer and pizza scene, this will be a definite destination for them. read more

Peanut butter milk stout :) yum!! The variety of beers is fantastic and a great price on their tasting flight. First place I've tried a bitter/sour beer and was surprised, it was so good! Food options are few, but good enough to put some food on your stomach while you sample. Beer is definitely the star here so don't go expecting super fancy eats. It's just down the hill from me, so I plan on going more often. Side note, DO check their calendar as it can be super busy on random days/times if they're doing a game night or live music or a sporting event is on. Plan accordingly. Loved the beers and pizza. You can't do half and half of the speciality pizzas so we ended up doing one veggi and one Hawaiian. Both were fantastic and we didn't end up having a favorite. As for beers, we got flights so we could try multiple. I love IPAs so it's no surprise my two favorites were That Roller Coaster Thing and Boys in the Yard Milkshake IPA. read more

This review is specifically for the Charlotte Pike flagship. The other locations are probably as good, I just have never been to those. I love Tailgate. Awesome collection of beer - some interesting concoctions and always the standards for those who don't want to be too adventurous. Every one of the food items I have had have been excellent and pair well with the beer - Pizzas are a signature item, but the salads, sandwiches, and appetizers are also very good. Upon entering, one of the bartenders explained how everything works there, took the time to explain the lists of beers, and made us feel at home. Inside has several big screen tv's to watch, and they have a screened in barn out back to allow you to drink beer out in the night air. They also have a great selection of home brews... Tailgate us hands down my favorite place. They are incredible. We live the selection of beer and pizza. We visited tailgate when they first opened and have been supporting them since then. Overall this is a cool brewery. However, we did have one weird experience here that I think is worth mentioning. We visited with a large group of 17 people for a birthday party. We called ahead and were able to push some chairs around to make a space big enough for us, and we brought out the cake we'd purchased for the occasion. That's when we were approached by the manager and told that there was a $50 cake fee. Ummm.... what? He told us that either the cake needed to be stored in the back or we had to pay $50 to eat it. His reasoning was that if other people saw the cake, they might bring cakes in too and next it would be McDonald's and food from home. Be aware of this weird and annoying policy before you bring your birthday crew here. read more

My son has been raving about TailGate Brewery since he moved to Nashville, and the reviews for the most part have been superlative, so I was excited to experience it. We went on Friday evening, October 8, 2021 at 7:15pm. There was plenty of parking, and the atmosphere was jubilant. We placed our food order, 2 house salads and the highly rated spicy feta dip, at 7:25pm, and then purchased our beverages. There were a lot of seating choices, outdoors and indoors. We chatted, drank, enjoyed people- and dog-watching, and became very hungry, when by 8:25pm (one HOUR after placing our food order) it was not yet ready. Folks who had arrived after us had eaten and left. When we inquired about our food status, we were told it would be another half hour. I had pre-paid for our food, and we were told we could not cancel and be refunded. At 9pm, our two salads and little cup of dip were ready. One and a half hours! A manager told me "We were slammed in the kitchen." I told the manager that I saw many people arrive after us, eat and leave, so I was insulted at this lame excuse. I understand when a business is short-staffed, or is overly crowded, but this was not the situation. Based on this experience, and that Nashville has so much to offer in the way of dining, entertainment and fun, I won't be back. read more

Was a Moose lodge and now the A-frame entrance fronts the beer house Tailgate taproom. Tailgate Beer taproom is in the few, if any,local joints that carry most all mid-Tennessee beer brews. The lovely Jackalope, Tennessee Brew Works, Fat Bottom, Black Abbey and at least a half dozen more flow from the 20 taps. Theres even one or 2 Tailgate brews including easy Blacktop Blonde made at Minhas Brewery. They just moved into this old fraternal lodge up on a hill in west Nashville and its nothing fancy. A big room with a bar and a barkeep and about all craft beers made in these parts. I like that they didn't mind me ordering a sausage pizza from Little Caesar's down the road a mile to have with my Yazoo. read more

Found this gem on accident, but so glad I did. Absolutely excellent service and absolutely delicious pizza...the sauce is perfectly seasoned (even though I have to tell them to go light on the sauce because they have the tendency to drown the pizza in sauce) and never bland, the hand-tossed crust is deliciously buttery, and the toppings are quality. I don't even go here to drink! just the pizza ( although, I will say that there peanut butter stout is delicious). And the best thing about this place is that they are consistently great. Went last night with a group of folks and we had kids and its was awesome. I had tea and my friends had all the yummy beers. The back yard is amazing. Kids played cornhole in the pavilion and we sat around the outside bar and picnic tables and they were showing Blues Brothers on a screen right after a beautiful sunset. Great attentive service. Only con: the dumpster is smelly and that would be okay if it were farther away from the outdoor hangin space. Wish they had a door to the inside from the back yard. You have to walk all the way around the building and I have a disability that makes it a long trek. read more
