Was pleasantly surprised with this spot. The staff was very helpful and the location had a great vibe and was in a good area. The one complaint I had is that the burger just wasn't that great. It's certainly a better burger than you would get at a fast food restaurant but it was a little lack luster in my opinion. The fries however were fantastic and my wife liked her fried pickles. Overall I would definitely go back I just might try a hotdog instead. read more

A great stop on our trip "home". We got the bacon cheeseburger and an avocado burger. We chose the 1/3 pounder combos and were definitely full. A good solid burger and fries. A ray of hope in Hope. Stumbled on to Tailgaters for lunch after a mostly disappointing drive thru "Clintonville" earlier. Good size burger shop across from the old downtown Hope train station that's been colorfully restored from its former life of an old hotel to lure in hungry diners and tourists passing through Hope. First positive was the line at the register was fairly long with people claiming to be mostly locals so maybe they knew something. Had the Applewood bacon cheeseburger combo and it came out really hot and juicy directly from one of the friendly guys who owns the joint. Went down well and tasted delicious w golden fries but the real test came a few hours later when I didn't start to feel nauseous and sluggish which is common for me after snarfing down a bad burger. None of that transpired...just a pleasant feeling of bliss and a very happy abdominal section that continued well after leaving Hope. Moderately priced with ample seating with some outdoor tables available, Tailgaters is a proud addition to the sparse quality dining options available in Hope. read more

This was an awesome burger spot. We stopped through on the way from Dallas, and it hit the spot. One of the better, flavorful bacon burgers Ive ever had. Their variety of sides makes for a good combo! If you arent used to the Arkansas water, go with a bottled drink because everything will taste a bit off in the fountain. No worries though. I travel for work often and my co-workers call me the master of Yelp... after years of practice I should be. But this little gem really lives up to the hype. To successfully pull you off the highway a few miles to eat.... driving through a place that looks forgotten. This place is great... they make the food to order and it's all done by hand. My friend had the burger and said it was seriously good... I went for the Reuben and was NOT disappointed. Both were sizable and the sides were also good... I followed the suggestion of another yelper and paid the buck to half friend green beans and onion straws... oh yeah. They have some outside seating and I was able to bring my dog to hang while we ate. After about 1700 miles in the car the poor baby needed it. The owner? asked the other ladies on the patio and they said they didn't mind. You would never find this place wandering off the road to look around... so thanks to Yelp we scored a seriously great meal. Decor is cool and we got to be Bonnie and Clyde while waiting lol. This is an easy 5 stars from me... Finding Tailgater's is exactly why I love Yelp. I was on a road trip to the south, and we found ourselves starving in the middle-of-nowhere, Arkansas. What could have been a sad, fast food meal turned into one of the most delightful lunches I've had in a long time. When I saw there was a 5-star burger spot in Hope, I was intrigued and had to find out if it was worth the hype. And it was. Tailgater's is adorable! It's the perfect balance of hole-in-the-wall with modern upgrades. There are brick walls, truck tailgate seats, a chalkboard menu... such a fun atmosphere. The people were all super friendly too! Every single person was kind and helpful -- I could tell they genuinely cared about my experience there. One lady (a manager or owner maybe?) even came around the dining room to say hi to everyone and check on everybody. And then there's the food. The menu is simple, but it is terrific! Freshly-ground burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, and shakes. My bunless burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. The fries were the real star for me -- literally just freshly-sliced potatoes! I finished everything with a small shake, and it was the old-fashioned kind, which I love. I really appreciated the small size choice too -- I just wanted a little bit! If you're in the area, do yourself a huge favor and stop at Tailgater's. And you can wave at President Clinton's childhood home as you zoom down the street for your burger. read more

I decided to stop in Hope to pay my respects to the Clintons and chose to have lunch here due to the favorable Yelp reviews. the atmosphere is very family friendly with a cute little patio that would be great to enjoy during the summer time. I ordered the Reuben with fries for $8.88. Instead of traditionally shaved corner beef, the meat was sliced thick. Maybe they make the corned beef there? The sandwich was quite sloppy, but not necessary in the delicious/worth it kind of way. Overall, the sandwich was a 5/10. The fries were pretty good. Thick cut. Homemade, I'm guessing. So fun! We're here for a few days mining for diamonds and after a long day mining in the hot sun, we were very happy that the burgers here lived up to the other Yelp review we read. I had the burger with BBQ sauce, slaw and cheddar plus potato salad and a chocolate malt. The burger was good even by Portland, OR standards. I liked the potato salad, which had lots of sauce (actually the burger had lots of sauce too, which is probably why I liked it so much) and tasted of garlic and bacon. Tailgaters is the best place in Hope to eat. We come for the State Baseball Tournament every 3-5 years and they accommodate our team, coaches, and fans so well. They get us the food quick, have super friendly service and check in on us throughout the Tournament. In 2015 we got rained out for about a week and we ate here every night. Such a cute place. Just opened three years ago, and the owners put their hearts into the place--beautiful exposed brick walls, clever truck bench seats on the walls, and great antique windows. Nice surprise during a recent trip from Indianapolis to Texas. Pulled off in Hope, AR to grab lunch. Cool downtown location across from the train station / museum. On our way back to Texas from Tennessee we decided to take the detour on Hope, Arkansas and it worth it, this place is managed by a really nice lady, not just friendly staff but awesome food I had the medium Swiss burger and the meat was so juicy and flavorful, I ate the salad instead if the fries and the ranch dressing was homemade and really good, vegetables were very fresh also, My husband had the Yankee burger with fries, he really enjoyed it, the fries were thick and hand cut I guess. Overall this is a really good place to eat, I will definitively come back if I hit Arkansas roads again! Prices very, very affordable. read more

We were staying in Hope overnight as we drove through on our way to our final destination. After several hours in the car we were disappointed there weren't many choices for food in town on a Monday night in the middle of a pandemic other than Mexican, which we weren't feeling. Enter Tailgater's....It is a corner restaurant with some pretty cool decor-inside and out. I got the regular cheeseburger and the hubs got the jalapeño cheeseburger. We were both very satisfied with our burgers! They were juicy and had great flavor! Our waitress was very attentive and the food was delivered to our table quickly.
