Decent bar with two pool tables, juke box and several televisions. Stopped in for a bite before hitting the airport and while the staff were helpful and very nice, not much to write home about. The locals probably enjoy this place as it's friendly, clean and hosts a variety of patrons. Couples young & old, guys watching the game or blue collars getting off work & stopping in for a cold one. We began with an appetizer of deep fried mushrooms. Nicely breaded with great flavor and a side of Ranch for dipping. Through the course of our meal we also had onion rings and fried shrimp, all coated with the same breading as the 'Shrooms. This was a bummer because shrimp should be coated with a light bread crumb or Panko, not a thick coating that can be peeled off in layers to get to the shrimp within. Same goes for the onion rings. Another guest ordered a French dip and the sliced beef was more like deli lunch meat instead of roasted beef. Meh. Draft beer was on the warm side. Burgers were excellent and hand packed back in the kitchen, cooked perfectly. We were disappointed in the food, with exception to the burger and fries. Went in with my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. Great dive sports bar with very good comfort food. Friendly staff even though we're not regulars. Only thing keeping it from a 5 is smallish draft beer selection and took a while for a server to visit us, but everyone seems to have staffing issues nowadays. Will be back!!! read more

Passing by saw all the lights so stopped in for a beer and sandwich, cold beer, had a fish sand with house made chips. Sandwich was mostly roll and lacked flavor as did the provided tarter sauce, chips were good. Good atmosphere and would give another try if in the area again. read more

What a hidden gem. I was in SC and asked the agent at the airport for a local mom and pa type late lunch place. She recommended Tailgators. With no reviews on Yelp I was a little hesitant. My husband and I visited Tailgators on a weeknight. It definitely seemed like a locals bar. We had great service and good bar food and beers. We ate buffalo chicken fingers and a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Both were great. The menu was fairly broad with great options. Okay bar to shoot a game of pool, but don't go expecting any sort of good food. I'm baffled by the number of positive reviews for this place after our experience. Perhaps it had something to do with it being a Sunday evening when we visited, or perhaps it was because our waitress was only on her 4th day and struggling, or maybe it's the college kids that have ruined any chance of it being anything but a bar, but after driving past this place every day for months and wondering how it was, we were sorely disappointed when we finally decided to give it a shot this past Sunday evening. We tend to eat out a good bit when we have days off and have been to more or less every restaurant in the area, so we were excited to give this one a try. I've worked in hospitality management for many years and totally understand that stuff happens from time to time. We all understood in advance that it was a small pub/restaurant/bar and wasn't an Olive Garden or anything, so we didn't go in expecting it to be fancy. We went simply looking to find some tasty bar food (burgers, tacos, etc) and acceptable service. Easy group to impress. There four or five people sitting at the bar drinking when we walked in and we were the only people in the place who were sitting at a booth while we were there, so definitely not too busy. After we placed our orders, we went and shot two rounds of pool and then went out to smoke a cigarette on the back patio while we were still waiting for our meals to come out. Yes, we had more than enough time to do all of this before our food was eventually served! When the bartender popped his head outside and let us know our food was ready, we were a little surprised when we walked back in and found that the lights over our booth had been turned off before we'd stepped back inside to go eat. This seemed really strange as we all sat back down at our now dark table to eat our meals, but okay...whatever. We quickly learned that this was likely an attempt to hide what they'd served us, though it would take more than turning off the lights to keep us from discovering that the food was not good. The dozen wings we'd ordered to share after being told they were the "special" were tasteless, literally had no seasoning or flavor beyond the grease they'd been fried in. I don't recall us ever having left chicken wings behind at a restaurant in the past, but we ate maybe five out of the twelve we'd ordered and left the rest they were so bad.The french fries were the best part of our entrees, no lie. My buddy's turkey reuben was soggy and not tasty. He ate maybe half of it and left the rest behind. I had ordered chicken soft tacos, which clearly had been left under a heat lamp for way too long, as the tortillas were hard and crusty. There was no cheese or lettuce at all on my tacos, nor any sort of taco sauce or sour cream or anything else provided that might have helped jazz up the flavor enough to overcome the lonely, tasteless, dry chunks of pan fried chicken in my tacos. I politely asked the waitress if they were supposed to have come with cheese, lettuce, or sauce or anything, since I was pretty sure that the menu had mentioned it. Thinking that it was no big deal, she was new to her job and surely she would fix it when she realized someone had forgotten to top the tacos before she served them. She said she didn't think so without even bothering to look at the menu to double check, nor did she even just bring out a little cup of cheese or sauce like one would normally expect after having mentioned it kindly to her. I choked down one of my dry tacos and trashed the rest. To make things even worse, in the hour or so we were there, none of our drinks (all of us had tea, not mixed drinks or anything) were refreshed even once, nor had any offer to do so come before we eventually just paid our $65 tab and walked out. Overall, very disappointing. I live just up the road and was hoping we had found a spot nearby that we could go to for a quick burger or meal after work or on our days off occasionally, but this was definitely not the case. read more

The bartenders there are awesome they made me and my girlfriend feel very welcomed. They have specials from 4 to 7 happy hour. My girlfriend had chili cheese fries which were part of happy hour 5 bucks. I had the alligator bites which were amazing and that was the first time trying it. Been living here almost three years and the new ownership here has really transformed the atmosphere of this bar into one of the best bar and grilles in the area. My family and I were headed back to Florida after our visit in North Carolina. Realizing we were going to be sitting in traffic for over an hour due to a delay we decided to look for a place to eat. Tailgaters Bar & Grill was the place to go! We walked into a sea of red Buckeye fans and 3 lone Michigan fans. lunch on Friday 7-1-16 @ 11:50 am. what a disappointment! I love this place (see previous review). when we got there, there was a table of 10 and 12-13 other people inside. ONLY one person tending bar, waiting tables and cleaning the tables. only one person in the kitchen we find out later. we put in our order and waited for 1 hr. and 15 min. for it! my med. rare hamburger was well done and the egg was cremated. people kept coming in so I warned 3 working guys and a office group of 12+ that food was very slow to arrive and they all wisely left . when I paid up I told the poor girl who had been running her butt off that she deserved a medal because she was great and gave her a 40% tip. not her fault. whoever owns this place or manages it should be slapped around for putting employees in this position.
