You get what you pay for! They always go above and beyond to make sure everything fits perfectly, and somehow manage to make the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. At the new Greenwich studio, I worked with Humberto, the lead fitter, and he was fantastic--friendly, professional, and put me completely at ease. The studio itself is gorgeous: stylish, chic, and perhaps one of the nicest Alts locations I've been to. Plus, there's plenty of parking right on Putnam Avenue, which makes it super convenient. I recently brought in more than 10 garments (dresses, sweaters, skirts and jeans). Mix of complex and simple alterations. It's incredible that they are able to handle everything with ease. I also needed some outfits rushed for an event and the team was able to accommodate my short window. Within just 3 days I got an email that everything was ready for pickup--and the tailoring was flawless! Thank you to Jess, the store manager, and the front desk receptionist--they were both so welcoming and professional. I sent in a high value Burberry trench coat to get dry cleaned and it got damaged!! The coat had…read moretwo small black stains on a sleeve. I pointed those out when I sent it in. When I picked it up the first time. The person at the store said that they failed to remove one of the stains. I accepted that. But upon further checking, I noticed that the front collar of the coat got some large watery stain and a red spot which I didn't have when I sent it in. This is after they had supposedly cleaned the coat once! They took it back to be cleaned for a second time. And when I picked it up again, they said that the red spot they created cannot be removed! They insisted that the spot was there when I sent it in. I definitely didn't have that spot when I sent it in. As a normal person, I didn't take any video before I sent a coat to the dry clean, so I can't prove this. This stain is on the front of the coat. I cannot wear it any more! This is a very expensive Burberry trench coat. They only returned the 40 dollars they charged me for cleaning, which they didn't do and further stained it! It also wasted a bunch of my time. The person at the store refused to take any responsibility of ruining the coat. He said that the coat was not new and was dirty. But why would anyone take a new and clean coat to a dry cleaner?! This place is a nightmare! Avoid at all costs!

I reached out to Haute Hamper on their website and got a call back from Scott after under an hour. He introduced himself, explained his process of dress cleaning and preservation, and gave me some preliminary pricing. We set up an appointment for pickup shortly thereafter; very painless process. About a day after the dress was picked up, he went through the pricing with me. I admit I was a bit nervous at first because of the stains that the dress had formed just from improper storage, but after he started the cleaning work, Scott was quickly able to clean the stains and got to work on the finer details. A few weeks later, we received the dress in a beautiful display box, perfectly clean and preserved. The whole process was incredibly positive and pain-free, and the price was very fair for the work he did. I also sent in 3 pairs of my favorite Cole Haan shoes to be resoled and cleaned, and his cobbler did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Haute Hamper to anyone who needs wedding gown preservation or shoe restoration services.
