I was given fantastic advice on how I should handle my alterations. The pricing was very fair considering the work being done. I picked up my items and tried them on before leaving and everything looked fantastic. I had 2 pairs of jeans hemmed, 2 pairs tapered, and 1 pair tapered and hemmed. They even patched a hole for me which looked great! I was very pleased with the work and everyone was incredibly kind. I am new to the area and instead of going to my usual place, I decided to check a new place out. I was apprehensive about going here because the reviews. I ended up going there so I didn't have to drive all the way to my usual place in Delray. This guy comes in and says he's the tailor. I wanted a simple long dress into a sun dress and he acted like it was suchhhh a big deal. Or made me feel weird because I wanted my dress shorter! Like I'm sorry I'm paying you to do a service on how I want my garment. Then he acts like it's sooo hard blah blah. Not to mention I used to intern in NYC for DKNY and Armani. I know it's a simple task. My sewing machine is out of town at my mom's house or else I would've done it myself. People just nowadays do not want to work or just act like they are so inconvenienced. This shop does repairs on shoes and boots, as well as simple and complex alterations on clothing of essentially any type. My girlfriend had a dress collar reinforced for a formal event, and they did a great job, had it ready on time as promised, despite the short notice. We've used them several times since, each occasion with flawless results. With each visit to drop off an item we've discovered that Scott, the master tailor that he is, is always willing to take the time to explain the possible options and stitches, the logic behind why he is approaching his alteration technique the way he plans to, and realistically what sort of result we should expect after the alteration. I have been so impressed with Scott and his attentiveness that my hotel now recommends him, and the staff uniforms are now altered at his shop. Not many people in his industry still offer services with his level of expertise and personal attentiveness. It truly is a dying art and skill, but thank God when you find one nearby. Essentially every shop on the island sends out their tailoring and alterations, so even there you're often not speaking directly to the person holding the needle and thread, just a middle man who is a sales person, and these people are not qualified enough to know where to begin with recognizing what it takes for a piece of clothing to fit exactly how it should. Their motives often have little to do with real expertise. I could go on a rant about bespoke/couture clothing versus 99% of what we buy, but suffice to say that Scott recognizes the differences and subtleties, and he can fix them when necessary. Scott is of the class of tailor with whom a boutique outsources to, because let's face it, regardless of where we bought it, there is no universal size 6, nor universal body type for a size 6. Karl Lagerfeld and Oscar de la Renta were from different continents, but could instinctively recognize a relative size, regardless of metric. This is where Scott is worth his weight in gold. You need it to fit you? He'll figure out your size, and do whatever is humanly possible to make it work. If he can't, then it's simply not possible. Go on a diet or return it. If you walk into Tailor's Touch, Scott is often available to assist you directly. His staff is also excellent, so in his absence there's not going to be a deficiency in quality or service. There was even a time when I needed him to rush multiple items ahead of an event where I had to bring in multiple people in evening with different needs for alteration. He put in the time that night and remarkably had it ready before noon the following day, which was ahead of what I had specified. It was incredible service, flawless work, and I can't believe he found the time. I'm often not impressed and surprised by anyone, especially in Florida, but he came through in a situation where I have no doubt everyone else in Palm Beach County would have not. A TAILORS TOUCH, is an ANGELS TOUCH. Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. I wash quoted over $100 at Nordstrom, where I bought my dress. At a tailors touch it was 40% less than the Nordstrom quote, and blew Nordstrom out of the water service wise as well. The process of trying on before alteration was a breeze and I felt super comfortable and safe to voice my concerns.they educated me on the work to be done and the cost. Eventually, Scott even called me to tell me my dress was done 3 days early! I felt like a super VVVIP, and Scott made sure to communicate everything clearly. So I was looking for a place to fix my corset prior to my visit to the Renaissance Festival. I figured there wasn't much that could be done since the fabric was ripped but figured I'd try anyways. Walking in it felt very comfortable yet professional and I was approached in a timely manner (less than a minute) and asked what I needed. I explained and showed the man there (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!) and he informed me on what I thought, that it couldn't be completely repaired. Even with that information given, he still offered to pass some stitching over it enough to make it through the day and he did so free of charge! The fact that he was completely honest about it not being a full repair and still helping me is why I'm writing this. I stopped at Tailors Touch today with a top that had a snap that popped open the minute I moved my arms. Scott recommended stitching it shut because neither a snap nor hook would work in this situation. They stitched it in less than 5 minutes and didn't charge me anything! I can think of at least three other times they did something like this. I love their customer service, and Scott is an expert when it comes to clothing and alterations. I have used a Tailors Touch multiple times for dry cleaning for mine and my husbands business suits and alterations for a little black dress. The owner and staff are so kind, and they do a really great job! Their dry cleaning service is very quick & they always have it ready faster than expected with the items cleaned and pressed beautifully. The alterations on my dress were perfect. I'd trust them with anything from a simple sundress to a wedding gown! I have also used their dry cleaning service recently Post-Covid, and the shop is doing everything possible to keep themselves and their customers safe. So I'm not sure where to start. This place has an amazing team, does quality work, and is fairly priced. I came in with a bridesmaid dress in mid December and needed tailoring because I'm expecting. The staff gave me their recommendation to get a bigger dress. They even helped me look for one. After some back and forth I finally got the bigger dress and they took it in. The owner is one of the most knowledgeable people about clothing, fashion and alterations that I have ever spoken with. He really knows his craft and can counsel you about all kinds of potential alterations based on his experience. The workmanship is top notch and the staff is very friendly. The work is completed very quickly and the costs are reasonable. The most important thing I want to stress is the professionalism of the owner. I brought two suits in for alterations because I believed that they were improperly cut. The owner had me try on the jackets and then explained to me that the suits were properly cut for my particular body type. He then explained to me the continuing evolution of men's suits and how the modern cut suit actually came to market. He explained that my new suits fit perfectly and it was my older suits that were not properly fit for my body type. In the end, because of his counseling, I made the decision not to have the alterations and I am happy that I did. This type of business professionalism is rare in today's world where most people would look to simply take your money and not take the time to provide you with the information to educate you and then allow you to make your own decision. The owner allowed money to walk out the door that day, in the short term, by educating me as to my options. I was going to a different alteration place for years. I had only gone to this place so I thought that the way they did things was fine because it was essentially all I knew. I had never done denim before though. I knew denim could be a little tricky so I decided to try somewhere that seemed a bit more.. "advanced". And LET ME TELL YOU I am so glad I did. Tailor's touch did the most amazing job on all of my jeans and denim shorts. Took in the waist and made them fit like a glove. I will never go back to my old place again. The people in there are SO nice and although they can be a little pricey I think it's worth it. I want my clothes to last as long as possible and I try to buy things that are of quality so I don't mind spending some money on getting them to fit me just right. Critical: Professionalism I came in to have 2 suits and a dress( for my children)pressed for a wedding. The dress needed to be taken in under the arms. The male that worked there, first comment to us as we walked in the door were " Are you guys here to roll me." Implying that myself and my 3 black children (9,10,11) were there to rob him.I cant imagine why he felt this was appropriate in todays climate. Then"I see you brought the muscle with you" again, implying some wierd adverse commentary about us being there. But trying to laugh it off. The total for my service was 93$ (press 2 suits and a dress. Take the dress in an inch under the arms")Fast forward, my mother comes in thlo pickup her grandchildrens clothes and the same male, is very rude to her. After she makes a comment about how much I'd paid for the service (she's used to tailors, i am not. So apparently to her it was on the end of pricing) He got very personal with her, "THIS IS A FAIR PRICE, WE DO IMPECCABLE WORK. WE DROPPED EVERYTHING TO GET THIS DONE" Keep in mind I paid for rush ordering, so he essentially did what they were paid to do. Overall, really gross experience. I would never go back or reccomend.
