New place to us as he wanted to take me out for dinner. Cute building. Parking is in shared lot a few buildings away. Shared restrooms too. Lots of take out business while we were there. We got the tandoori chicken, tandoori shrimp and garlic naan. The tandoori dishes came with rice and masala sauce. Sizzling platters of tandoori with peppers and onions, yum! He liked his tandoori chicken because of the bell peppers and onions cooked with it. My shrimp were tasty and the garlic naan made the meal better. Server was polite. We shall be back. read more

Consistently delicious. My favorites are the chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, chai & garlic naan. Ordered it mild so my kids could enjoy it - so much flavor- doesn't need the heat. The only thing I didn't like was the daal. Not very flavorful & thin broth. Awesome takeout. read more

3.5 stars I was so excited about trying tamarind after reading the great reviews, but was left somewhat disappointed. Pros: - Variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, and desserts - Complimentary chai and naan bread - Reasonable weekend lunch price Cons: - Most of the dishes were lukewarm if not cold (even the saag and the chicken was barely warm, and we were there at peak lunch hour) - A lot of the dishes were bland. They weren't spicy and (for the first time at an Indian restaurant) I needed salt on my food. Overall, the food is homely and the ambience is good. Service is prompt, and while the eatery is located on a busy street, there are a few parking spots across. I may have to try their a la carte menu to see if those relate to the better reviews. read more

Our go-to takeout for Indian cuisine in Castle Rock. We've never dined in, but our food is always ready on time and they pack it really well to stay hot for takeout. I love the Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower tossed in a sauce) Delicious, and you'll like this even if you don't like cauliflower, but I bet this would be better/crispier if we dined in-person. My favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala, I usually go with the medium but I might opt for something spicier next time. It comes with a large side of rice. I also would recommend a side of naan. Very generous portions overall. Highly recommend and we will be ordering again! read more

The food here is pretty good. We've done takeout three times from it, and once the food wasn't so great, but the other two times, it was really good. So, I definitely would go here again. Especially because it's slightly cheaper than Zaika, the other Castlerock Indian place. And, so it's worth a little bit of extra drive over to Wilcox too get good food at a little less price, although it is a little bit harder to park on the street and run in. But I would make this the Castlerock Indian place until Zaika drops it's price a bit. read more

I would say this is a solid 3.5. With that said, this is probably a 5 for castle rock. But I live in the centennial/ Littleton area and we have better options up here. And with that said, we did enjoy the meal. We got our order to go. The butter chicken was the darker in color I've ever seen. I loved that the chicken was in small pieces since this was for our toddler. So we didn't have to cut up the meat. The vindaloo was ok and I would order spicy opposed to medium if I returned. The most disappointing part was the garlic naan. It wasn't good. The rice was nice and fluffy and they gave us large portions which we normally don't get at other places. read more

Lunch buffet was awesome and was reasonably priced. My favorites were the hot tea,mango dessert, and the tandoori chicken. They had a full bar, but I wasn't up for a drink yet. Ok, so this place has been a go-to place for a long while for me. But tonight, I had a very weird experience. I came in to grab food for me and my elderly mother. There is a very attractive woman (my guess is part of the family) who usually works there. So, being of poor taste, I hit on her (mildly...conversation, asking questions, ordered a shot, whatever). I wasn't being a complete douche, light flirtation...my bad. I left to grab a beer next door while my food was being made. When I returned to grab my food, a guy (a Latin dude) whom I'm sure was part of the kitchen, as he was wearing a hair cover, promptly comes out to tab me out, he's eyeballing me the whole time. He made me so uncomfortable, purposely, and it was completely obvious. He was sick and coughed all over my food. On purpose. I told him to wash his hands if he's going to be sick and touch food like that. My apologies to the lady for my behavior. That guy needs to be fired. I have an elderly, immunocompromised mother at home that I care for. That was completely unprofessional on his part, and, regardless of my questionable behavior, is unacceptable. He coughed ALL OVER MY FOOD BAG IN MY FACE AND IN FRONT OF ME. Sorry guys. I love your food, but that was unnecessary. read more

I'd put Tamarind up against many Indian restaurants in the Denver area. The food was excellent. I had the meat samosas, coconut shrimp, lamb korma and spicy naan. All were awesome! The customer service was good too. The ambiance could use a little kick though. read more

Indian food is my favorite so I go to many places but the butter paneer masala here still managed to be my favorite. And they aren't afraid to use lots of garlic on the garlic naan. Incredible kind service really brings this place together, I hope to return soon to try the buffet. read more

We had reservations after the starlighting and even though we were early and had 1 extra person they sat us right away. They seemed to be shorthanded on a very busy night so we had a long wait before ordering and then again for the food. Once the food arrived we were not disappointed, everything was freshly made and delicious. The atmosphere was good and the staff were very friendly and apologized for the wait. Omg! The food was so, so good I forgot to take pics. We had the veg & beef samosa, the shrimp korma apps. For our entree, we had shrimp Masala and chicken curry w/ two types of naan. Anytime that I ever want some good Indian food, this is the first place I want to go to. The food is excellent, whether you get the buffet at lunch, or order your meal at dinner. Pretty much everything off the menu you will love, we regularly go with the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and samosas. The service is great, they took the time to really talk with my kids, help them find what they liked, and made sure they had a great time. This is a place that I'll keep coming back to. read more

We have been going to this place for almost 3 years! I'm South African Indian, this place has thee best butter chicken, which my kids 3 & 5 absolutely love, for little kids this says it all. The buffets on a weekend have always been amazing. The service has always been great! Today the wrong item was sent with our pickup order, when I called the restaurant to let them know, we had the correct item delivered to us in under 20 mins, at no additional cost! This is hands down one of the best Indian Places in Colorado. Everytime I go somewhere else, nothing but disappointment. The staff there are so kind, the food is fresh and delicious. The best dish to me is the tandoori chicken but so is the butter chicken and the lamb Rogan Josh. The inside is dimly lit with a quiet feel. I can't stand bright restaurants, so I love to come here. We decided to check out this place after reading the Yelp reviews, and the food definitely lived up to the hype. The quality and taste were great, earning it a solid 4-star review from me. However, the service took a hit when the server only brought us water and then disappeared. It was a struggle to get any anything from here, and when we asked for a spoon for my three-year-old, the attitude we received was disappointing. We wanted to order soft drinks, but we never had the opportunity so we stuck to the water. I guess that's a healthier route.Lol read more

While we've never dined in at this restaurant, we've ordered pick-up several times and have never been disappointed. Service is quick, the staff are pleasant, but even if they weren't, the food is so good it wouldn't matter. I do look forward to eating there as the ambiance looks really nice - maybe we'll eat there sometime when we don't have a picky six year old with us. :) Admittedly, we haven't tried too many items on the menu, but we love their butter chicken, all of their naan flavors, the veggie samosa, and their biryani are all delicious! However, when it costs $100 for a couple small bags of take out (much of which was a huge container of rice plus another smaller one), I say enough is enough. Tamarind is my Go-To Indian in Castle Rock. I'm sure all the other great reviews tell you all about the food, so you've heard enough of that. But also - The people running this restaurant are just fantastic. All around nice people. I've never encountered a frowny-face here. One time I was waiting a bit for my pickup order (I placed it from the car out front haha) and the employee noticed me waiting and watching the tv. He wordlessly appeared with a. Complimentary cup of (really good!) hot Chai for me, pulled out a barstool for me, and smiled as he gestured at the football game on the TV. It's the little things people. This is a hard review to write, as I am going to contradict almost every other reviewer of this restaurant. Oh well, I have to call 'em like I see 'em . . . I had the lunch buffet. Bland is the word I'd use to describe the food here. I am mystified at other reviewers saying the food is spicy. It is not. The Saag Paneer, for example, had almost no discernible taste. The Curry Chicken had enough curry for me to know it was curry, but was in no sense spicy. The other dishes were similarly without distinction. The Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken (if I am remembering correctly) were also without any heat. The whole experience, for me, smacked of westernized Indian food, de-spiced for the American palate. (Which is why the comments calling this food "authentic" also amaze me.) On the positive side, the Tandoori chicken was excellent -- tender and yummy. The fresh naan was also great. But these were the exceptions. It also pains me to write the above because the service was extremely friendly and helpful; charming, in fact. I appreciate that in a restaurant, and it makes it difficult for me to criticize the food. I'll give Tamarind another try at some point to see if I just caught them on a bad day, and because my experience was apparently so different from every other reviewer. read more

Great food, good service. They ask the level of heat you want, which was important to my wife, who is not a fan of spicy food. I got the Lamb Bhuna with medium+ heat, while my wife got the butter chicken with no heat. She really liked it, saying it was flavorful without being hot. Along with dinner we had garlic-cheese naan, drinks and an appetizer (Pakoora Masala - highly recommended). With all that, the meal was not that expensive. Nice place. read more
