It was my first time trying Morrocan food. Everything was delicious. I picked out Morrocan kafta, chicken tajine, potato salad, cauliflower salad, rice, and couscous. Couple of these items may not be there anymore but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the options. The employee was very helpful.

While trying to make the most of my Staycation, I was in search of something different to eat so I popped into the North Market to see if there was anything that caught my eye. I was about to leave when I noticed a new spot serving up some Moroccan cuisine - Tajine House. The lady working the spot was super nice and helpful in helping me decided on what to try. After picking out some items to fill my plate, I paid and headed home to enjoy my food. I thought the food tasted fresh and packed with flavor. I will definitely be back!

The whole group of us decided to order something from individual places and then sit together and share family style. Someone else was getting the soul food, so I decided to get something else vegetarian. I had no idea what I was doing. She said she liked the eggplant and beets from Tajine House. So, I decided to go for it. I awkwardly asked for a small tray of those two items. Instead, the man behind the counter asked if I would like a veggie plate. He loaded up a tray filled with every vegetarian option available. Everything was just so, so good. There was enough for me to share and take some with me for dinner at the airport the next day!

Stopped by Tajine this morning for brunch and requested several dishes, including beef, rice, peppers, carrots, beets, and some hot sauce. The food was fresh and served quickly. My meal was $18 and was delicious. I'll visit again and try to more next time I'm in Columbus.

Came to North Market for the first time and was so pleasantly surprised by the diverse food options and plentiful seating. We decided to try Tajine House, and it was really, really good! The flavors were super unique and tasted great. Even the rice alone tasted good. The beef was served hot and they gave generous portions. The sides were served cold but were full of flavor. The cucumber tomato salad was very refreshing! The eggplant was also very flavorful and unlike anything I've had before. There was a tiny hint of bitterness in it, though, which made it not as great as the other food we got. The food was a little expensive, but I think the portion size reflected the high price. So no real complaints honestly!

The North Market Downtown in Columbus, Ohio is home to many delicious food vendors. I have seen traditional Italian, Polish, ice cream, burgers, pizza, Mexican, a few Indian and vegan options, even Somalian. In this sea of variety I could only choose one thing unfortunately, so I went with Moroccan. The guy who owns this spot is very nice, and took the time to explain every item I saw. At the end of the day I couldn't say no to those lamb shanks. I got that with a side of couscous, cucumber salad and taktouka (chilled tomato with roasted pepper). It was absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe how tender this lamb was, it was practically falling off the bone. I didn't finish it all cause it was so much food, so I brought it home to finish with my wife. Love food markets, and if you happen to be driving to or through Columbus I can't recommend it enough

Tried this place while at the north market recently. It is a new establishment to me and I was excited to try it. It features Moroccan dishes with a variety of different proteins (lamb, chicken, salmon), grains (basmati rice and couscous), and veggies (eggplant, carrots, cauliflower, salads). I ordered the basmati rice, salmon, eggplant, and cauliflower for about $18. There was plenty of food and I split it with my girlfriend. We both loved the salmon and basmati rice. The eggplant had good flavor but was a little oily. The cauliflower was okay, but not our favorite thing we tried. Overall we were very pleased and would easily eat here again!

I absolutely love Moroccan food and was elated to try out Tajine House. I was a bit bummed on the food flavors - I wish they were heightened/more pronounced. I know that Morocco traditionally uses a lot of cardamom, ginger and saffron, and I wish those spices stood out even more. The chicken was great - tender - and pared well with the regular small couscous. I could pull out the cardamom and ginger, just wish it had more pow!5 I liked all three sides I got - eggplant salad, tomato salad, and chilled carrots - and would definitely get again. I'd buy both salads bulk; they'd be great on their own with baked chicken thighs or salmon. I'm really glad there's now a second Moroccan restaurant in Columbus, as that's one ethnicity we are sorely lacking, imo. A little more oomph in the spices department, however, would definitely give the food a great boost.

We started with the next appetizer plate. You get to try a little bit of everything, but my favorite was the dolmas. The hummus and Baba are both incredible. I couldn't get enough of it and used it on my entrées as well. For entrées, we ordered chicken biryani and tandoori beef kabob bbq. Everything was extremely flavorful and well prepared. My favorite dish was the beef kabob which I didn't expect! Enjoyed the chicken biryani but do wish the chicken came without bones. Definitely would return and recommend this place for a unique menu. It's not typical that you would be able to order Moroccan and Pakistani food at one restaurant!

He told another customer "I want you to have the best customer experience" and he even showed me his clay oven where they bake their naan (see picture). He even asked he where I was from and talked about what made each of their dishes great. It is clear that he and his co-owner (the Pakistaani chef) are proud of their restaurant and their food. He promised that the food would be delicious and in describing each item, he set the bar quite high for me! Driving home was torture as the aromas of the food were so tempting. But then when we finally dug into the meal, we were blown away. Everything we ordered was great; the palak paneer, the Pakistani whole chicken (great deal and takes 45 minutes to make), the baba ghanoush. I would highlight the daal lentil which was freshly made and a bit spicy and full of flavor which we loved. The naan is generous in serving and airy. And for me the best thing was the lamb tagine. I had an awesome tagine years ago in France at a Moroccan restaurant that was so tender, the meat just melted in my mouth. This dish came close to that memory, with a generous serving of dates covered in sesame, complementing the flavor of the lamb. It will be hard for me not to get this dish every time. I cannot recommend this restaurant more. This has been one of the best meals I've had here in Columbus in the last few months. Between the friendly staff and the excellent food, it is definitely worth a try.

We went for lunch and the cool, welcoming interior on a hot summer day set the stage for a delicious meal. We started with the combination appetizer and their wonderful bread. Every item on the plate looked as good as it tasted. I particularly loved the cold eggplant and tomato dish. I had the blackened tilapia with rice and salad. Delicious! I would certainly order this again. My fellow diners had the shrimp and the lamb shank, a weekend special. I tasted both and loved both! I took half of my meal home because the appetizer was so substantial and my tilapia was a very generous serving. The wait staff were warm and friendly, but not intrusive, making Cafe Istanbul a very comfortable place. So glad we circled back to an old favorite! Menu last weekend,

I got the Baba Ganoush and the Chicken Kabab. I thought it was strange the Baba Ganoush did not come with pita bread or chips. It also was a tad on the watery side. The Chicken Kebab entree I enjoyed the kebab but not the rice. I wish I would have gotten more veggies than the rice. Baklava was okay more dry than I would have liked. Maybe I'm a hard critic but I thought this wasn't the best representation of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine.
