The lamb truly was soft and fell off the bone. My meal didn't come with bread so I ordered extra, and was happy to see they do the massive, pizza sized flat bread. Great food, great people. We had the tray of 4 and tray of 6 for 11 people. It was plenty of food and we had tons of leftovers. I enjoyed the roasted chicken and lamb more than the stew personally. It also comes with some large circular bread. They start you off with some soup of lamb soup. Fourth time there. Each time - fantastic. The BEST hot tea that I have ever had. The humus is perfect with the hot out of the oven nan. They do something magical with each rice dish. My brother and I stopped in for dinner on a weekday. We ordered the Tray for 2 and my brother ordered a Yemeni Tea. The Tray for 2 comes with one order of Lamb Fahsa, Lamb Haneeth, and Chicken Haneeth. My brother received a piping cup of sweet, spiced tea. It was delicious and perfect for the weather! The Lamb Fahsa came out first, steaming and bubbling in a clay pot, with Tandoor bread. A huge platter of rice, chicken, lamb, and potatoes, topped with cilantro and red onion came out next. We couldn't believe how huge the portion was! We still had at least three servings of food left to take home by the time we were full. Despite how full we were, we were curious to order a dessert. We went with the Malaki, which was warm, not too sweet, and amazing! We'd never had a dessert like that before. The dessert could've easily served four people, so we had leftovers of that as well. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Its a bit further out from city center (like 15 minutes) and in a seemingly less populated area but its definitely worth the drive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels very homey but spacious. Service has always been super nice and patient. They also serve a free lamb broth as an appetizer which is always delicious. I gravitate towards the lamb hummus and the lamb fahsa. The hummus is extremely smooth and creamy with tender chunks of flavorful lamb. The fahsa is also very flavorful and comes boiling in a stone pot. Both go so well with the bread provided and it makes for such a delicious meal all around. read more

The name will bore you to tears, but that's the only thing iffy about this restaurant. Inside, I was the only non-Arab eating dinner. No matter -- I was treated like a dear guest. Well-seasoned, moist, and begging to be wrapped up by your fresh bread. Chicken zorbian reminded me a lot of Indian biryani, but not quite as dry. Quite good! And yet it's dessert that stole the show. Massoob! MASSOOB! Stunning. One of those dishes that makes me want to go home and cook it myself. "Whole wheat bread, honey, mashed bananas, cream" -- basically how they have it on the menu. No. Fire your writer. Cross that out. "Dessert delivered directly from heaven" -- that's what it needs to say. I'm not a sweets guy; I rarely order dessert. I couldn't stop thinking about the massoob for a few days. I have never had Yemeni food and after visiting Yemeni Reestaurant I was not disappointed! Forgive me because I can't remember the names of the dishes but the flavors have stuck with me and my husband. The complimentary lamb broth before the meal is so soothing and flavorful! In addition to the lamb hummus, I also highly recommend the classic Yemeni drink that is humbly called "lemon mint". The lamb hummus is a must. So much flavor and hummus has a perfectly smooth texture. One of my favorite dishes was the lamb fahsah. It came out bubbling hot, lamb was so tender and delicious. Amazing hidden spot with excellent food and service. I can only speak about the vegan dishes. I went with someone who was vegetarian and others who ate meat and everyone loved what they had. While there aren't too many vegan options I was incredibly happy with what I got each time I've been here. My father took my wife and I here after a day at the Columbus Zoo and we were very impressed. The area is full of ethnic restaurants and markets and this is a great choice. We had the lamb with hummus as an appetizer and 3 different lamb dishes for our entrees. My wife and I shared two different types of teas which we loved and one of them reminded me of the Bedouin tea I had in Israel. The place is halal and does not serve alcohol but they have a great mango and lemon lime drink that we enjoyed towards the end of our meal. I went to Yemeni Restaurant while in town visiting family, and the experience made me wish I lived much closer so that I could go here more often! What an incredible place. No one in our party had tried Yemeni food before, but we were all open to getting a good taste of it. We were welcomed into the restaurant as if we were being welcomed into someone's home. It was clear that we didn't know how things worked, and the host/server was kind and non-judgmental about it. We sat down and were immediately greeted with little bowls of warm lamb broth and a delicious hot sauce (which seemed to be house made). We were at a cozy booth in the restaurant which was spacious and had many tables and seats, and was decorated with beautiful photos of Yemen and with a color scheme consistent with the Yemeni flag (nice touches). We were all open to getting a good sample of the food, so we asked the waiter for recommendations. He asked us a few questions about what we liked, and then recommended a few items and gave us the opportunity to accept or refuse - we accepted and were so happy we did! We sampled the hummus with lamb, the lamb fahsah (an incredible aromatic dish of bubbling shredded lamb with mashed potato), the lamb haneeth, and the chicken haneeth, and the waiter threw in a little green salad for balance as well. Everything was incredibly delicious! We also sampled some of the Yemeni tea (very sweet, hot and nicely spiced), and the mango smoothie (so delicious!). I tried ordering over doordash but its not working, so i came in and had a date with myself. Hard to find at first as no sign but it is right next to the yasmine grocery on the North side of Columbus . Upon entering- friendly greeting. It was a little after 2 pm and most tables were full on a Saturday! Ive never had middle east food . The music and restaurant set up, wall decorations and all really gave me a great experience. Upon sitting down and receivng silverware i noticed no knife is provided. I thought it must be be fall-off-the-bone good if no knife... and it was! Food was prepared quicker than most sit down restaurants . They provide complimentary soup (I wish I could buy this in gallons- it's that good!) as well, complimentary tea is provided. This tea is like none other- absolutely amazing! I have sinus and allergy issues especially living in Ohio (I need to be by the beach..you know because I am a mermaid ‍) Main course I ordered haneef chicken and the flavored rice (orange rice). Holy heck--no knife needed. This chicken was so tender and juicy. It was perfect. It also came with some potatoes on the side in the rice and I think about them often now- the best potatoes I've probably ever had in my life. I tried to eat as much as I could but I stuffed myself until I could not eat anymore and still had plenty of leftovers for another meal For myself. This was rated one of the best spots to eat in Columbus Alive (I believe -don't quote me on that could be another magazine ). I understand why--the food, atmosphere and service is amazing ! They have breakfast options on their menu. They are open until 10pm at night ! Many authentic dishes provided (see menu photos I uploaded). You can also call ahead for pick up (I've already ordered pickup and brought home and it is just as good as sitting down in restaurant. Seriously - if you have not tried this place, get there ! They bring you a cup of the most comforting lamb soup, and when we commented on how delicious it was our server offered to bring more, which we gladly accepted.
