The bottom line: great food, and great staff. Consistent, always. Today is Valentine's Day 2024 and Aladdin's had a sweet special this day so we chose to come in. For $15 a person could receive an appetizer, dinner and dessert. For the appetizer the choices were: baba ghanoush or hummus. We chose one of each. The sizes were huge. They came out with a big basket of fresh pita. The baba ghanoush was flavorful but next time I will order it without oil as it was a little heavy on the oil. The hummus... OMG, this hummus is perfect. So perfect. Yum. The dinner: we could choose from: chicken, Shawarma rolled pita, Taza, chicken salad, mujadra plate, fattoush, Jasmine's favorite with beef Shawarma, or Jenie's combo plate. We chose the salad and the combo plate. The salad was huge. Enormous. My husband would get it again but would change the dressing. He wasnt a fan of the homey dijon. He thinks vinaigrette, or ranch is a better pairing. Genies Combo plate was perfectly sized portions of cauliflower, hummus, some type of mediterranean salad that was very vinegary and seasoned chicken/rice. Very good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The desserts: we were allowed to pick anything from the case. Im going to be honest. I am a cake snob. Then presentation in case is excellent. The cakes we chose, many customers would love. Me... they are just average. Here is why. The chocolate cake was okay. I Didnt hate it. It was moist, chocolatey enough but that was because the fudge frosting carried it. It really tasted like a box mix. The cake itself needed more flavor. Frosting was good. But it didnt wow me enough to get it get it again. There are better chocolate cakes nearby. Then cassata cake: ooooh, hate to tell them but its not a cassata. For a cake to be cassata it needs to have ricotta custard in the layers. Its then defining element. This did not. However it was an excellent vanilla sponge cake with strawberries and whipped cream icing. Take away the misleading name and it was really good. I would order that again. All said for 30 bucks we had amazing service and an even better meal. Thank you Aladdins!

Had a pretty good experience last night at Aladdin's in New Albany. Only downfall, they were busy and probably not expecting the crowd. It did take longer than normal to get your food but I was in no rush. I highly recommend the hummus and hot sauce. The hummus is a creamy blend of chickpeas puréed with tahini and lemon juice drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. For main main course I got, Farrouk's Falafel Pitza which is tahini lemon dressing topped with falafel, banana peppers, diced tomatoes, and chopped parsley. The other photo is my moms meal, Genie's Combo Plate. Chicken mishwi on a bed of seasoned brown rice with vermicelli; served with lebanese salata, hummus, lightly fried cauliflower florets drizzled with tahini lemon dressing, and turnips. The cauliflower was sooo good and I'm not a big vegetable person. This restaurant is a must try Mediterranean restaurant in Columbus with multiple locations so why wouldn't you try it?

Love. We've had dinner here twice in a week and it's fabulous. The space is new and clean with great decor. There are wonderful cakes in the case by the register. The service is good. Genie's combo plate is my favorite thing - chicken, hummus, rice, salad, and (amazing) fried cauliflower florets. The hummus & pita is so fresh, and I added the garlic sauce on the side for the bread. They offer beer & wine. The servers are a bit awkard, which I don't mind, since it's newly opened. I was puzzled by one person returning to the table asking if I wanted change. I gave a hundred dollar bill on a bill for less than $40. Um, yes please? So happy we live so close and will enjoy it more in the future.

Many vegetarian options! We had the hummus (so good) and two rolled pitas. The cauliflower rolled pita was amazing! My husband really liked the hummus falafel. We also had dessert. I had a mini chocolate cheesecake. Perfect size! Parking is easy because it is a large share lot. Prices were very reasonable and the staff was friendly. Will definitely go back!

I was pleasantly surprised by this food! I have lived in Columbus for my entire life and have never tried Aladdin's, but after visiting a friend in Cincinnati she told me how this is one of her favorite lunches to order. I copied her order exactly and did an online order for the chicken salad salad and a side of hummus with pita. The chicken salad was full of flavor, and I enjoyed the hot sauce and mustard dressing with it. I loved the hummus and used the pita to make a little wrap with some of the chicken salad and hummus. I am excited to go back and check out some other options on the menu. What I got wasn't necessarily the healthiest but it seemed like they have a lot of good healthy options which I appreciated. I ordered online and my order was ready by the time said for pick up.

I have to admit this is my first time. I had no idea. There were 30 of these restaurants in the Midwest. I'm guessing this is the cleanest restaurant I've ever visited. The staff is incredibly friendly. I think they may genuinely enjoy working here. Lebanese food is amazing. I will try the catering next.

All the food was really good. First time here Verinika helped us with everything. Recommendation. Everything was worth eating. We will be back

Newer and cozier than the Cincinnati branch. Not a busy Saturday, friendly and fast service. We were served pita bread while waiting for our orders. Had the shawarma salad and Lamb salad with choices of 2-3 dressings on the side. I loved the Mediterranean dressing way better than the Aladdin dressing. I had the Pomegranate green tea, it was good and refreshing. Tried slices of cake must've been lemoncello (?) and German chocolate, they were ok. The Tiramisu was delicious though.

All utensils and plates and water are serve-yourself near the door. At lunchtime on a warm Saturday in spring they had a steady trickle of guests coming in. The person who took our order thanked us for supporting them. Food was quick and very fresh. I had 1/2 tabbouleh salad and za'atar French fries. The tabbouleh is more heavy on the greens than the grain which was a refreshing change to me. It was dressed in a bright, fresh lemony dressing. More than I could eat in one sitting. The French fries are maybe dipped in batter and fried. I'm not sure. But they are super crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - delicious. The ambiance is casual with various TV screens showing different shows and Middle Eastern music playing on the speakers. The interior is simple but warm and inviting with minimal but fun decor. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected, I could see myself returning for dinner.

We went for lunch and the cool, welcoming interior on a hot summer day set the stage for a delicious meal. We started with the combination appetizer and their wonderful bread. Every item on the plate looked as good as it tasted. I particularly loved the cold eggplant and tomato dish. I had the blackened tilapia with rice and salad. Delicious! I would certainly order this again. My fellow diners had the shrimp and the lamb shank, a weekend special. I tasted both and loved both! I took half of my meal home because the appetizer was so substantial and my tilapia was a very generous serving. The wait staff were warm and friendly, but not intrusive, making Cafe Istanbul a very comfortable place. So glad we circled back to an old favorite! Menu last weekend,

Maybe I'm a hard critic but I thought this wasn't the best representation of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine.
