We were here for a Friday dinner. A rare find All You Can Eat sashimi and sushi place in town. Ordered from the tablet. No worries of waiting for the orders to come. Reservation is not available. They only take walk-ins. Quality of food - Average Menu Price - Average Service - efficient and fast Ambiance - spacious and nice Table and chairs ample of space too Parking - free parking lot Bathroom - not so clean Overall: We recommend this place. This place was the worst "Japanese/Thai" I have ever had. The sushi was inedible and the Pad Thai was RED?! I am allergic to food dye and have never had an issue ordering pad thai up to this point. We called to let them know about our experience and they literally made us drive 20 minutes back to return the food (with bites taken out of it) in order to get a refund. Hello, health code violation? What a joke of a restaurant. Avoid this place like the plague it is sure to give you.

For an all you can eat (AYCE) restaurant that's only $20 Canadian dollars, the quality of the food did meet my expectations! I was truly impressed by the variety of options available outside of sushi that was also part of the AYCE menu. There were variety of appetizers, noodle dishes, soups, and even dessert on top of the different types of sushi and hand rolls that were available. You won't have one designated waiter/waitress but instead, you'll order from an iPad and then the food gets delivered to you relatively fast! Don't expect the best service but if you're there to try the different dishes they offer, I would definitely recommend this place as it did meet my expectations for a relatively good deal.

Tuesday night, my boyfriend and I came here for dinner. I haven't been to an AYCE sushi restaurant since I move back to Windsor. It was pretty busy on a Tuesday night, but we were seated right away as soon as we walked in. This location used to be the old Montana's BBQ restaurant, and they have the set up pretty spacey inside. We were seated at the back in a booth and immediately given an iPad with no instruction on how to use it but figured it out, and started ordering. Withing minutes of submitting our order, food started gathering at our table. We ordered seaweed salad, Tom Yum soup, sweet potato & mushroom tempura, chicken coconut curry, sushi rolls, avocado, Philadelphia roll, and of course my favourite part, salmon sashimi, which had come out last, in chunks, which was odd. We had ordered a lot of food, which all of it had come and nothing was missed. The servers didn't really talk to you unless you had a question, and there were several holding trays full of different food items for different tables, the item we ordered was placed onto our table and they walked off. Not very personable, but not mean either, more blunt. We asked for our bill via the iPad and was promptly greeted by a server asking us if it was one bill and how we will be paying; it ended up being about $80 for the two of us including tax and tip. The whole experience was fast, your food comes to your table super quick after you order it, except the Sashimi, that apparently takes a bit longer, but it came. The food was good, what you'd expect from AYCE restaurants. I'd come back again.

I wish I could rate this place higher but the food quality sucks. My wife and I agreed that we would rather spend $50 (for two people), on high quality sushi vs. all you can eat. So with the idea that it's "AYCE," the price for dinner is pretty high in my opinion. The sushi which is the main reason we went, was loosely rolled with low quality fish and LOTS of rice. Service is delivery based, very low communication or care of customers. A steady stream of food coming out of the kitchen. Obviously popped up in an old western steakhouse that has gone out of business. Kinda sad. The coolest thing is that the service is fast (too fast). I also like that you order from an iPad and it is a good system for menu updates/maintenance.

    Avocado and salmon tataki salad

A decent place for AYCE sushi in Windsor. It takes a while to be seated as it happened to me a few times where the servers see you standing at the entrance but ignore that they saw you. There's a large selection of food items and you order on an iPad which makes it easy. The portions are large, especially the noodles, curry, and wok items. The veggie egg noodle stir fry however, was literally a plate of noodles with 2 pieces of broccoli and a few carrot and onion slices. The rolls are okay. The rice is a bit soggy but the filling inside is not bad. The sushi is a bit better. Their avocado salad and the salmon tataki salad are pretty good. As for soups, I enjoyed the corn and chicken soup as well as the tom yum soup as they give a lot of tomatoes, basil, and mushrooms. They are very generous with the sashimi as the slices are really thick. However, taste-wise, I prefer a thinner cut sashimi. They do plate the sashimi so it gives off a nice presentation when you order a lot. Having tried a few other AYCE sushi places in Windsor, this one is one of the better ones and my go-to.

This picture sums up the quality of the food.

Cons: - Horrible service. Takes forever to get seated, rude waiters and waitresses, they CONSTANTLY give us the wrong food - Food quality isn't even close to what they show on their tablet menus. Pros: You can quickly find out that you don't want to come back here. Disgusting. Do not come here.

Their sign is easy to see as you drive by, but my friend did give me a heads up that their door was not obvious. You need to walk through a fence and then open a non deacript door. The artwork outside is awesome! When we walked in we received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our seats. We had made a reservation ahead of time and there was no delay to seat us upon our arrival. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders right away. I appreciated that they had multiple non alcoholic drinks and at a fair price. I started with the Thai Iced tea which was delicious, but I would have loved a glass 2x the size! We ordered multiple dishes to share amongst us. I did ask the server how many dishes they recommended that we order as I wasn't sure of the size. The items are brought out as they are made, so we had food being dropped off to is at random intervals. The only slight issue we experienced was when someone else tried to bring a plate of squid to our table. We let them know that we had not ordered it. They then went and talked to our server, who brought the squid back to our table. We also let them know that we had not ordered that dish. Our server did bring back our order slip and looked it over, and I believe at that point they realized that we really had not ordered that dish and just weren't rejecting it. I am not sure if it had been written wrong, communicated to the kitchen wrong, or what but we did have to state multiple times that we had not ordered it. The rest of our dishes arrived correctly. The crispy chive cakes were great, and the sticky spare ribs were AMAZING. The caramel glaze on the outside of the ribs was so good, and they were tender as well. The outside was super crispy. I would absolutely ordered these again. I would say that both of those dishes were only for 2 people. The sticky rice and jasmine rice were as to be expected, and I personally felt that the papaya salad was not as good as others I have had. The chilli noodles had an amazing broth and I would also recommend. Overall, I did enjoy our dinner but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to return. I am rounding up to 4 stars based on the sticly ribs alone, otherwise a 3.5 would be more fair. I have been hearing about Takoi for years, so maybe my epxections were too high but I was expecting a bit more.

Recently visited this great little place on Howard Ave and I was not disappointed…read more The first thing you notice about Thai Lanxang is that despite its relatively small size it's very contemporary and chic. It's really a nice environment and atmosphere to sit in and though I wasn't sure how comfortable those chairs would be to sit on they were quite enjoyable for the time we were there. The first things we ordered were a couple of spring rolls and a bowl of wonton soup. The spring rolls arrived piping hot and were rolled very tightly. Really nice taste to them and I enjoyed the sweet chili sauce that accompanied them. The soup was really simple and nice. A light but tasty broth that didn't have too much (if any) of the oil you often see floating on the surface of wonton broth. We tried a range of food to get a good feel for the place and really weren't disappointed with anything that we ordered. The sushi, I have to say, might be the best sushi I've tasted in the area. It was extremely well done. I tried their spicy California roll, Philadelphia roll, and rainbow roll. One of the things I really like about California rolls is when they don't just throw a piece of cut crab-stick in the middle of it. These were nicely shredded bits of crab mixed with the avocado and cucumber - the texture was great. The rolls were also pretty big; nine nice sized pieces of sushi in each of the rolls. Entrees at the table consisted of Pad Thai, Lemon Chicken and Orange Chicken. All of them were prepared and presented very nicely. The lemon and orange sauce was very... well... lemony and orange. Really nice flavor to both of them and the sauce consistency was nice and sticky - not runny like you sometimes get. The Pad Thai was ordered medium and that was decently spicy but very good as well. This is definitely a place I'll go to again, especially for the sushi - in fact I could see me going here just for a sushi night it was that good. The only thing they need is their own signature sushi sauce!

Mild/Medium/Hot (spicy levels) I ordered a small Hot and Sour soup and Pad Thai (veggie, hot, asked for no peanuts). My friend ordered shrimp wraps and Pad Thai (tofu, medium, asked for no peanuts). Their hot and sour soup is fantastic here! It's not loaded with starch as it is in many Chinese restaurants. It was WAY better than their Tom Yum Shrimp soup I had the last time. My friend enjoyed his shrimp wraps and loved the peanut sauce (we think the sauce is okay but just plain crushed nuts on noodles is not really for us). My Pad Thai was spicier than it should have been because I had just finished downing my soup so the spiciness from that came was enhanced. I squeezed the lime that came with my Pad Thai on top of the noodles which tasted great but probably made it spicier (again). Bean sprouts accompanied my meal and small chili pepper flakes were throughout my noodles. Funny thing though, my udon from last time was TOO salty and my Pad Thai this time wasn't salty enough. But there was a salt shaker on our table so that solved things. My friend's Pad Thai was darker orange-red than mine from the tofu and the sauce that covered it. He really enjoyed his meal as he finished a good 15-minutes before me. I bumped my review up one star because I honestly do not mind trying new things at this location! Their Hot and Sour soup helped too :) I'll be back soon!
