Recently visited this great little place on Howard Ave and I was not disappointed. The first thing you notice about Thai Lanxang is that despite its relatively small size it's very contemporary and chic. It's really a nice environment and atmosphere to sit in and though I wasn't sure how comfortable those chairs would be to sit on they were quite enjoyable for the time we were there. The first things we ordered were a couple of spring rolls and a bowl of wonton soup. The spring rolls arrived piping hot and were rolled very tightly. Really nice taste to them and I enjoyed the sweet chili sauce that accompanied them. The soup was really simple and nice. A light but tasty broth that didn't have too much (if any) of the oil you often see floating on the surface of wonton broth. We tried a range of food to get a good feel for the place and really weren't disappointed with anything that we ordered. The sushi, I have to say, might be the best sushi I've tasted in the area. It was extremely well done. I tried their spicy California roll, Philadelphia roll, and rainbow roll. One of the things I really like about California rolls is when they don't just throw a piece of cut crab-stick in the middle of it. These were nicely shredded bits of crab mixed with the avocado and cucumber - the texture was great. The rolls were also pretty big; nine nice sized pieces of sushi in each of the rolls. Entrees at the table consisted of Pad Thai, Lemon Chicken and Orange Chicken. All of them were prepared and presented very nicely. The lemon and orange sauce was very... well... lemony and orange. Really nice flavor to both of them and the sauce consistency was nice and sticky - not runny like you sometimes get. The Pad Thai was ordered medium and that was decently spicy but very good as well. This is definitely a place I'll go to again, especially for the sushi - in fact I could see me going here just for a sushi night it was that good. I'm back! I came here again with the same friend from last time. Served by the same waitress but let's get to the food! Mild/Medium/Hot (spicy levels) I ordered a small Hot and Sour soup and Pad Thai (veggie, hot, asked for no peanuts). My friend ordered shrimp wraps and Pad Thai (tofu, medium, asked for no peanuts). Their hot and sour soup is fantastic here! It's not loaded with starch as it is in many Chinese restaurants. It was WAY better than their Tom Yum Shrimp soup I had the last time. My friend enjoyed his shrimp wraps and loved the peanut sauce (we think the sauce is okay but just plain crushed nuts on noodles is not really for us). My Pad Thai was spicier than it should have been because I had just finished downing my soup so the spiciness from that came was enhanced. I squeezed the lime that came with my Pad Thai on top of the noodles which tasted great but probably made it spicier (again). Bean sprouts accompanied my meal and small chili pepper flakes were throughout my noodles. Funny thing though, my udon from last time was TOO salty and my Pad Thai this time wasn't salty enough. But there was a salt shaker on our table so that solved things. My friend's Pad Thai was darker orange-red than mine from the tofu and the sauce that covered it. He really enjoyed his meal as he finished a good 15-minutes before me. I bumped my review up one star because I honestly do not mind trying new things at this location! This place wasn't even busy now I understand why . We ordered cashews curry chicken and it literally tasted like it was burnt. So we retuned it back to redo it and they brought back a new and it actually taste the same burnt tasted. Nice new and clean. I had beef hunan noodles spring rolls and wonton soup. All were excellent. I wish the had combination plates, everything is an entrée. Bill was $22 a little expensive I thought but the cleanliness and decor makes it worth it, especially if on a date or business. read more

We order company lunch from here all the time. The most popular dish at our place is N10 - the curry dish. Even with fairly large orders every time, we have never had any complaints. I would highly recommend them for lunch. we usually pick up, but delivery is always and option but with a charge. read more

I occasionally come here for lunch. I always get the N10- Peanut Curry with chicken or shrimp. You can order it medium or hot- I've gotten hot twice, each time it was a bit too hot (and I like hot). So now I get medium with hot sauce on the side. The food is served quickly and reasonably priced. I crave this place often. read more

To be honest this was our second choice when we planned on going to Windsor for dinner. Our 1st choice, Chanosos i couldn't find. And my SYNC i guess doesn't work in Canada. On to Lanxang. We arrived at 530 pm and on a Tuesday night. There was 1 couple leaving as we entered and after that the place was empty. Very modern and hip design and looked very nice. Started our meal with some chicken satay, which was ok the peanut sauce could have used a kick but ok none the less. Ordered the egg rolls which were very very good and then some beef pho soup. Ordered the small, thank god cause it was about a quart of soup. Never had pho before so i guess it was good with a light broth and lots of rice noodles. Then wanting 2 different entrees i decided on curry duck. Yummy. The better half ordered pad almond which also tasted good. The only weird thing was and maybe because it was a Tuesday night we were the only diners and not even 1 carryout or didn't even hear the phone ring. read more

Once my favorite place to eat in town each week for lunch, service has slipped drastically to the point I won't be back. Waited 40mins today for lunch, only 8 other customers in restaurant, had to be packed up to go as I had to get back to work. Opened the to-go container and order was no where close to what was ordered. No discount offered. Sad to see for local business with lots of competition. read more

So let me start by saying I used to Dine here regularly couple times a month. I actually really like their yellow curry dishes but after the service I received I will not be back nor will I ever refer this restaurant again. Me and my date arrive at the restaurant and it is busy and we notice a newer waitress we have never seen. After about 10-15min she comes and takes our order, we order the same meal we always do. When the food finally comes out my dates order is completely wrong, all she wanted was buk choy and broccoli in her meal and she got green peppers, corn, bamboo ect. We tell the waitress its wrong and she gets the wife who knows us to comes out, we tell her and she takes the meal away, she comes back 2 min later with the same meal except she added broccoli and buk choy to it. So we get the waitress again and say maybe she didn't understand but this is still wrong. A couple minutes later the husband(cook) comes out with a angry look on his face and throws the order pad (really he threw it) at my date and the pen and says write down what you want I don't want to waste anymore money. I was in shock I didn't know what to say. I don't know why we even finished eating maybe i was in that much shock and that hungry. After we finish I went up and asked for the owner hoping maybe he would apologize seems we are regulars their but all he did was tell me I'm wrong and to order properly and to leave. SO TO EVERYONE STAY AWAY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS SAVE A DOLLAR. MAKES ME WONDER NOW WHAT STEPS THEY SKIP IN THE BACK AND HOW QUALITY THERE FOOD IS. read more

Wasn't impressed at all. Both my fiance and I had the Thai fried rice. Hers tasted burned and mine had no flavor at all. On top of that none of the food was discounted after telling them the issues although they did offer to cook us new food. Not interested when we.sosbt like the first ones. Service is very poor. It seems that there was recently a change in management judging by the change in staff. The new waitress is not very friendly and last time I went the person who seemed to be the owner sat behind the register drinking a bottle of beer and having a loud conversation with the waitress instead of checking on guests. The decor is very cold looking and outdated (baby blue) with no art on the walls. The menu is WAY too big. Food is inconsistent. I recommend they cut the menu down to 1/4 the size and focus on quality not quantity. read more

Pad Thai was terrible and I always order it at the various Thai restaurants I eat at ( I like to compare which restaurant has the best pad Thai) I Wouldn't recommend it if you do not like sweet sauces. The sauce was way to sweet and tasted almost like ketchup. I had to send it back. The vegetables in the curry dish I ordered next looked and tasted like they were from a frozen bag and the chicken had no flavour. The waitress did not bring us plates for our appetizers... She was too busy texting on her phone. I am not a picky eater nor do I complain a lot, but the food and service was not good. I would not recommend this place to family or friends. Worst food of my life. Got the house noodles and they were so so so so sooooooooooooooooooooooo salty that if I had hypertension I would explode. We also ordered sushi salmon and avocado and the avocado had gone bad. Out of the 3 things ordered 2 of them were bad. When mentioning this to the waiteress she just apologized.
