Service is above average you get what you pay for if you decide to change your own oil theses places put the oil filter on so tight there is no way a do it yourself mechanic will ever be able to get it off these places put them on you have to go back to them or another shop no more for me read more

Not sure how this happens. But took my SUV not even two weeks ago to get an oil change. Had a decent experience in the shop to say the lease. The staff seemed decently friendly, but unfortunately, the skid plate had came off and I was advised after being on the phone on hold for over seven minutes then to get transferred to customer service to explain that my skid plate had came off only for them to tell me to rig it temporarily to get it to the shop in Crownpoint only for them to possibly look at it and to see if they can fix it. Horrible service with lying technicians. I wanted an oil change before they closed, and they told me their computer system was closed/not working. After, I was sent there from the Merrillville location because their pump system was not working. I'm starting to believe that the whole company isn't good. I have been going to this place for several years now and today when I showed up I was very disappointed. The manager stayed on his cell phone on a personal call while changing the oil in my car. The two other technicians were also on their cell phones while one was FaceTiming someone. Cell phones do not belong in a garage setting business. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

July 12th I went to Take 5 for a oil change. I arrived to be greeted by the service tech to guide me in. He asked me if I was ever there before which I said yes. He asked me how many miles I had on the car which I told he him 159,440. The service tech proceeded to change the oil and fluids. I told him my power steering was making some noise and to make sure the fluids was correct. He told me it was "safe level". When it was time to pay, he said it was $94.50. I asked why it was so high, and he said it was synthetic oil that was what they put in before. I said I never used synthetic oil in this vehicle. I demanded to see the manager and he told me they didn't have the regular oil so they used synthetic as a upgrade. We finally agreed that he would give me a free oil change the next time. I left to run some errands and noticed my power steering was making the same noise. I went home and looked to see if the oil cap was ever opened. There were no marks and took pictures. I also looked at the next oil change tag was read 157,400, under what I can there with and with the synthetic oil next oil change should have been 164, 440. I then drove it back to the oil place and talked to the manager and asked him to please check the power steering fluid level. They had to add a fair amount of fluid to the correct level. I told the manager the previous tech said the level was ok, "safe level", when he didn't even check it. I told him the service tech needs some more training and to do things the right way. Lessons learned. Never trust "Take 5" to be an honest reputable place of business. read more

Went in on 10/30 to get an oil change. Waited over 45 mins, with only 2 people in front of me. The workers proceeded to take off my air filter and show me it. Little did I notice after the fact that my air filter wasn't all the way on. Also, I noticed 2 of the screws were missing in it. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews:(( I try to find the good in things but this was bad... I'm not sure how the oil exchange is but the wash was not good. I bought the middle grade car wash. It completely missed my whole rear end of car. The girl who guided me in let my tire squeal on car wash rail for quite sometime, before she pointed to which side I had to turn my wheel. Then I pulled up to vacuum station, and prepared my car ( remove car seats, flip the seat up to reach back, remove floor mats) just to find out vacuum did run, but hoses were so clogged no air ran through. So I packed everything back up and drove to next station, checked the suction on those.. again hardly any air movement. I hate complaining, but Good Lord! read more

Needed a simple oil change. Arrived sat Feb 12th at 12:30 ish. Now mind you they have 4 doors now when I pull into Ist lane I am told is a 45 minute wait and I have to let a car from another lane in front of me because she was there first and I was next. What So I left. Then decided I would go after church arrived at 3 called said open until 4 again 2 cars in one outside and I was the fourth car was told it cutting it close they can't service my car. I am always nervous to get my oil changed just because I'm a woman, a visibly queer woman at that, so I always get a mixed bag of treatments at mechanic shops, that wasn't an issue for me here. Nick was awesome at helping me through the process and RJ was super kind and quick with my oil change. I have definitely found my new go to spot. read more

Worked at this location for 6 months, saw two cars blow their engines from not being oiled within the first month. They charge almost double for a normal oil change and they don't inform the customers that a basic oil change is a recycled conventional oil which you would not want to put in any vehicle. Managers there will Facebook stalk female customers when they leave aswell. read more

Do not go to Take 5 Car Wash in Crown Point! The brushes scratched up my 2 year old car and they told me it was my fault. Horrible customer service by the district manager! Save your car and don't go there!!! read more
