Worst oil change experience I've had. Over charged after receiving a quote, engine bay left with oil all over it, receipt says other services were performed when they were not. Ended up pulling over to an autozone because they said my coolant was completely depleted (it wasn't) and I needed a coolant job but since I had gotten an oil change "we could do it cheaper". No liquids checked no worry about tire pressure, and now I gotta worry the proper filter and oil were used and hope it was and my engine don't have issues moving forward. read more

Off the bat, Jaylan welcomed me at my car, asked what services I wanted and happily directed me to the correct bay - his cheerful mood was a great way to start my customer experience at this location. After a few minutes Dre took over. Dre was polite and courteous the entire time. Things that made me happy because as we all know, just don't happen at all good change service locations -literally every employee there seemed to be in a good mood but not in a goofing off way- they all were still doing their jobs and being professional. - Dre and Jaylan were both professional and courteous to me -After checking my cabin filter, Dre opened and closed my glove compartment and I could tell he was ensuring he put it back correctly and then made eye contact with me afterwards to ensure I agreed it was correct - just the effort and thought to make sure it REALLY was done correctly I appreciated - I ACTUALLY GOT MY OIL CHANGE STICKER RIGHT AWAY. I have been to SO MANY Take 5s or valvolines or literally anywhere that forget to give me the little sticker for my windshield and we all know how convenient they are when your vehicle doesn't tell you when to get an oil change. I was shown my air filters and shown the new ones before they were put in and the new oil on the dipstick. I know these are basics and I think required of the company- but last time I went to a take 5 in Houston I was scared they didn't even do anything to my car because none of those things happened . So, I have been to this location in the past and had no problems getting my oil changed. While they probably deserve more than 1 star, I'm giving it 1 star to get their attention (owner or manager of the store). Unfair? Yes, a little. Effective? I hope so. Today, they said they couldn't do an oil change because my car has no dip stick (BMW). I was told this is policy now and has been in place for a few months. All lies. I called another Take 5 who informed me the Barker-Cypress store was lying. These lazy ninjas just didn't want to change my oil. No problem. We have 4 vehicles in our household, and every single one will now get their oil changes elsewhere. You have lost my business forever. I received the absolute WORST service at Take 5 on Barker Cypress today. The mechanic asked me to drive into the service area which I did and that was the only time he spoke to me. He left me sitting in the area for over 20 minutes while he serviced cars that came in after me. I would have appreciated if he would have said, "Ma'am, it's going to be awhile is that okay with you?" as opposed to just leaving me there. I was trying to do a good service for my mother-in-law and ended up leaving with barely a goodbye. That was my first and last visit to Take Over 20 Minutes!! read more

Customers BEWARE and STAY away from here. Went get an inspection here Saturday and they FAILED me because they says my tint is too dark. I've these tints since 2020 and I only do it legally dark. So I have it 25% (f) n 5% (r). But they still failed my car. They know they are losing inspection next year and trying to find ways to make other means of money. Then they try to sell wipers!!! And failed me on that stupid sh*t too. I would not even take my car here ever again not even for a darn oil change. My friends and family have been dinged with all of a sudden their tint is too dark and failing their cars for inspections. I've had a handful of people that told me that is all happening to them now. Horrible. Took 45 minutes to get an oil change and that doesn't count the extra 15 minutes I sat there and waited while there were open bays. They didn't seem bothered at all that it was taking much longer than usual. Will never return to this location again. read more

Should be call take 30, that is how long it took every one in front of me. They have a bunch of unfriendly guys who take their time and no sense of urgency. Also this was the second time they said I needed a new air filter but did not have it in stock. This is the last time i am going there and would rather go to a place with inside waiting than sit there instead of a car for a couple of hours. read more

I'll start off by saying that the work done at this shop was a little pricey for me (I'm not the most wealthy) but it was the first time I felt like every dollar I spent was worth it! The service was impeccable. They explained everything incredibly well and stayed patient as I had a lot of questions. They answered every one. The service time was incredibly fast. Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a take 5. After waiting the usual 30 minutes in line it was my turn to enter the garage. The guy guided me in. Then disappeared. I sat in my car for 20 minutes without any service of anyone coming up to me as I watched them greet other cars and even take a lunch break. The only positive was Jonathan being very sweet and giving me a discount. I'm all for taking lunch breaks but at least tell me there's going to be a little bit of a wait before you take one. read more

Worst place I have ever been to they left my splash shield hanging there with missing bolts. Talk to the Supervisor about it and also talk to the District Office. went today after the Supervisor told me to take it back so they can fix it. 03/16/2025 @ 11:30 am went to take 5 on 11330 Barker Cypress Oil Change to fix the mess they did to my wife's car and still left bolts off the splash shield after he told me it was fixed. Never again will I take it to take 5 they ruin my splash shield and there were missing bolts still. I am going to go to the dealer to buy a splash shield kit because they run it. What a waste of my time. These employees need more training. I went to take 5 so they can fix the problem they caused and got worse the fiberglass insulation that is on the splash shield was burning but didn't catch fire but smell so so bad that had to park my car outside what morons. Please do not take your car for anything they will destroy it at take 5 on 11330 Barker Cypress rd. Manger never did called if the issue was resolved. 1. Didn't realize they didn't have the correct filter to my car until after they had drained the oil. Had to wait an extra hour while they went to another store to pick it up. 2. Car was smoking after oil change. Everyone started yelling "shit turn it off, turn it off, turn it off." They sprayed the entire engine w water then had me turn it on again. Huge clouds of smoke. 3. Then had a girl who was not even working there come over and told me she knows more about engines than the guys working there. And that this is a common thing for European cars. She kept trying to tell me that there had to have been something wrong w my car prior to bringing it in. Then also said there is no way that they spilt any oil bc they were using a funnel. Came in on a Saturday morning on 1/25/25 for a full synthetic oil change and was in and out in 10-15 mins. Customer service was great & I didn't even have to get out my car! I had my car running until they can to help me, I didn't know it needed to cool downs the person with the purple hair kept joking I was going to burn her with my hot oil from my car. I told her I'm sorry I didn't know, I usually go to the dealership and wait in the waiting room. Then she tried to sell me windshield wipers. Then when they asked me did I want to buy them she yelled from the bottom give her the most expensive and when he asked did I have coupons she said no we don't accept them before I even responded. When I arrived, they put me in line behind two cars and then allowed a car that come in after me to go into an open bay. When I asked what was going on, they said they had an appointment. Last year, they threaten to call the cops on me after my car wouldn't start after my oil change. The head office gave me a free certificate and an apology but my issue lies with the local branch. A third party mechanic determined when the battery lines were not in the proper place. No idea how it happened but the situation was unnecessarily escalated. I went this morning at 6:40 to get my cap tightened and to top off my oil, but there was no one there to help me. The location opened at 7am and I waited all the way to 8:20 and still received no fucking help. Now I have to drive 20 minutes away to another location to fix the job your workers couldn't fulfill in the first place.
