From the moment I pulled in, the experience felt stress-free. James, who I believe is the manager, was incredibly welcoming and came right out to my car to take a look at the issue himself. That alone made me feel like I wasn't just another number walking through the door. I had already struck out at three other shops earlier that day, all of which couldn't get me in until much later or the next day, so my expectations were pretty low at that point. James assured me his mechanics would do what they could to help, and they absolutely delivered. The shop felt organized and professional, and the team clearly knew what they were doing. They diagnosed the problem quickly and had me back on the road within an hour. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering how quickly they were able to fit me in, and the whole experience left me feeling genuinely relieved. Car issues are never fun, but this team made it as painless as possible. Based on this visit alone, they've earned a loyal customer. If you need car maintenance and don't want to feel rushed or brushed off, this is a solid place to stop and see some good people who care about their work.

They did notate on inspection lugs were swollen. I was happy it passed inspection. Store owner quoted me $361 in parts only for 20 lugs. Ford MSRP from official Ford parts catalog is $10 each lug, so $200 retail. That's an 80% markup! Over the phone he said the markup was extra than what their computer software said for pricing because he had to resell the extras. They are standard Ford OEM , m12 x1.5. you can get a box of 20 or packs or individual lugs, what is their to keep in inventory and resell? this isn't pawn stars. the lugs fit dozens of year, models. I understand they have vendors and markup, but more than dealership! , charging that much , 80% markup is unethical for simple lug nuts I provided Chris, the store owner, with proof on cost, and simple math. the next day in person he said he never quoted that, but it's in writing and voice recorded. At pickup, He then dismissed my concerns, saying he is a capatilist, im basically SOL, and he was hostile and Chris has no customer service skills. he ended the conversation before I could finish what I was saying, and told me to leave when I asked to meet in the middle on a discount because 80% markup over dealership is JUST WRONG The previous commenter is right, things have changed there..I have been a loyal customer to this shop for a decade. Chris was not store franchise owner last time I was there a year ago, and I hope he is not there in another year. He is rude, exploitive, no customer service skills, lies, and tries to exploit customers Needless to say, Midas lost a loyal customer of over a decade. So many same kind of reviews, the new store owner tried to rip me off, and when confronted didn't want to talk and walked away. Other midas locations may be trust worthy, but they are all franchises, and the one at 5301 West broad, Richmond va should be avoided untill a new owner comes in. I don't think Chris will be store owner with all his bad reviews and shady practices. They are still answerable to Midas corporate and the BBB, which I will be filling complaints against this shop.

Hard to beat "free", so I was glad to make an appointment with this location to get the spray taken care of. Their lot is tiny, so parking was a bit of a hassle. The service was on the quiet side, but professional. A manager was talking loudly on the phone nearby throughout my interaction with the employee, which was a bit off-putting but no real way to avoid that with such a small cashier area and waiting room. They took about 30 minutes to handle the painting, which is pretty quick. I inspected it after the fact and they were pretty liberal with the spray but, as their manager explained to me, it's hard to control the trajectory of an aerosol paint sprayer. I should mention that I received a call from Midas the day after I posted this review to ask about my experience. This is an impressive sign of good customer service that I do not often see, so good for them for doing all they can to ensure positive outcomes for their customers. I strongly recommend everyone also get this spraying done now that crime is off the charts, and Midas is a solid choice for this and other services as well. Overall: 4.0 stars ---- Pros: - Great program they're doing with Henrico for the catalytic converter painting. - Service was professional, if quiet. - Prices for their services seem fair. Cons: - Small parking lot means parking is tough, even if they aren't busy. - Small waiting areas amplify sound, though it's not like they can magically make their location bigger. Bring headphones, easy solution.

Was told that they had no record of me having an appointment so I made another appointment, and left. One missed day of work. Second appointment, second missed dayof work, happened a couple days later and decided that the best course of action to starting a relationship with a these mechanics, was to be extremely nice and so I brought them donuts. After all, I needed a good mechanic, and so I was going to be good client, in hopes of them being good to me. Wrong. There's more attitude in that building than I know how to deal with. I kept my composure, assuming they had difficult jobs. I do too, so I understand. I got there 15 minutes early, gave my information, and then told them exactly what was wrong with my car. My car is under warranty and the fix was going to be covered. my check engine light kept coming on and my left signal was not working because I have a melted component. I told this to them. So of course they ran a diagnostic and found the problem in the engine, got the part and fixed it, but my warranty wouldn't cover the other problem with my tail light because the first woman that helped me said, that I had burnt out lightbulb. fix and I can do that myself, butThat's not what's wrong with the car. I had replaced the lightbulb twice before figuring out that it had a melted component. It's a common problem with the make and model of my car. I told them exactly what was wrong with the tail light. I told them that it was not just a burnt out bulb, and that the bulb was not burnt out at all . I told them about the melted plastic and how it was interfering from the circuit, completing, in order to have a proper working term signal . But because of how she filed the claim, my warranty would not cover it . Had she bothered to say that it was an electrical issue, like I said, it would have been covered. I tried to explain this to the second girl behind the counter but she told me that they weren't going to fix it because it would require another diagnostic and I needed to take it somewhere else. She also named the exact problem with the tail light. Her words were, it sounds like you need a pigtail replacement. I said OK, because what else was I gonna say, and left . Once I called my car people, they told me that they were not going to be covering a burnt out bulb, so of course I had to fill them in on what really happened and that it was not burnt out bulb. They don't want to believe me because they figure the Mechanics know more than me, cool. I knew the problem and I told them I knew the problem before they started working on my car. So I'm going to be making a video to submit to customer service because the mechanics never even looked where I told them to look. And after getting home and my Car sitting for a few hrs, I now have a leak. so a problem that wasn't there, is there now. They are the worst. You couldn't pay me to go there again. I hope I can fix this with my warranty people. but stay away from this place. I wish I had seen all these horrible reviews before I went there.

Over 2 Weeks Without My Car -- Completely Unacceptable Experience…read more I brought my car to Firestone Complete Auto Care at 4910 W. Broad St. in Richmond on July 11th for warranty-covered repairs (a rear strut and axle). I was told it would be a few days. Two weeks later, I had to pick up my car unrepaired because I couldn't trust the shop anymore. Here's what happened: * They repeatedly failed to call the warranty company until I escalated it. * They claimed parts were ordered -- then said they never got approval (a lie -- I confirmed approval directly with the warranty provider). * Every time I called, I got a different excuse. * I had to chase every update myself -- they never initiated contact. * After I filed complaints with Firestone and my warranty provider, an employee called me and basically asked if I "just wanted to take the car somewhere else." By the time I went in person (Day 13), they were still lying to my face about the repair status. At that point, I told them to put the car back together. I was out in 5 minutes -- proof that they hadn't even started the job. This shop wasted my time, ignored my concerns, and gave me nothing but excuses. Avoid this location at all costs. They don't value your time, your trust, or your vehicle.

And one of the employee was rude, when I declined something I didn't want done. He said, "You get what you paid for!" Ummmm His job is not to give attitudes to customers. I didn't ask for his opinions, just to get my oil change done. He lacks basic customer service skills. I've known mechanics you didn't act like him. I was so annoyed with the Take 5 employees, I went to a different business to have my oil change done months later. They charged me less and did the same work. And the other business is ACTUALLY HONEST with people. Of course, the other business is on Broad St as well. It was my first and last experience with Take 5, I will never come again. Seems like the Take 5 employees get a honest review they asked for!!
