Two visits. Two failures. Zero accountability. Take 5 advertises a "quick, 10-minute, stay-in-your-car experience" with "upfront, transparent pricing" and a "multi-point inspection to ensure your vehicle is in good condition when you drive off." My two experiences here were none of those things. Visit 1: They pull my car into the bay, drain the oil -- then tell me they don't have the oil filter in stock. They had already charged me at this point. No heads-up, no inventory check before pulling the drain plug. I waited an hour and a half while someone physically drove to a parts store to buy a filter. That's not a 10-minute service. That's not transparent. That's a shop that doesn't know what's on its own shelves. Visit 2 (today): I pull in and before they even get started, they tell me the drain plug is stripped and they can't do the oil change. Sorry, can't help you -- goodbye. Here's what they didn't say out loud: Take 5 is the only shop that has serviced this vehicle for the past two oil changes -- their own sticker is still in my window. They are the only ones who have touched that drain plug recently. Their own website says every oil change includes a "multi-point inspection to ensure your vehicle is in good condition when you drive off" -- so either they stripped it last time and sent me on my way without saying a word, or they're using a stripped drain plug as a convenient excuse to turn away a customer. Either way, they offered no explanation, no documentation, no offer to make it right, and no path forward. Take 5 promises "fast, friendly service" and touts their "certified technicians." What I got was two wasted trips, a car I still can't get serviced, and a shop pointing fingers at damage only they could have caused. Coupons available. Had oil changed here for my daughter's car. The did not put all the attachments back on for the under engine splash guard and it fell off. We filed a claim and they are saying our daughter hit something and ripped it off. None of the attachment points are ripped. Then had one of the bolts come off in the driveway. There are 10 attachment points and they all look like this, but somehow this was ripped off. We are out $700 getting this replaced. Claims is a joke and won't do anything. They denied the claim after we repaired the car at our expense. Avoid unless you want extra expenses added on. read more

I am a long time customer of take 5 in Jacksonville Florida. I got a brand new car, never been to anyone outside of the dealer. Went to take 5 for my first outside oil change. They took the engine filter cap off and never put it back on. This is a dealer specific part which costs 85 bucks. I called to put in a claim 3 times with their claims department and they are giving me the run around saying someone will call me back everyday. I will call again tomorrow and be headed to this location when I get off from work. It's either going to be my part or my money. Needless to say I'll never deal with Take 5 Texas again. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth because I expect the people under my car to know what they are doing and to do the job well. Unhappy camper! read more

They will Sneak extra charges on the bill with out speaking with you first. when you question the I assume manager Malcom threatens to call the police. I brought a quart of additive to replace a quart of oil; I've never had issues with anyone anywhere doing this; well their oil change includes 5qts my truck takes 6 but I had the quart of additive so there should not have been a $10 charge for an extra quart of oil when I brought it!!! When putting oil in my truck it was spilled down the side of the engine and onto head and exhaust manifold, they did not check air filter, wipers or any thing else that is supposed to be checked. They never even did a final check on the oil once they filled it they told me to start the engine, slammed my hood and yelled at me to get out the F out and leave....I've never had a problem with take 5 before I've never had a problem at this specific location. However if I do decide to go back to a take 5 it will be the one in lake worth, I believe he was the manager his name was Logan he was very nice and talked with me while I was upset/angry trying to figure out who I could speak with about what happened and he went out of his way as much as he could to help me and apologizing for what happened even though it was not his store or anything to do with him....so I still could never get a answer why a $90+tax oil change came to $102 when I had a $25 off coupon read more

As I was leaving I see the employees all talking with no sense of urgency whatsoever. Do not come here unless you have literally all day to waste. Terrible service, they said it would be a 15 minute wait, turned into an hour and change of wasted time. There were only two cars in the 3 car bay and no one in line when I pulled up, it took 45 minutes for them to get a single car done that had already been in service when I showed up. By that time, four more costumers had showed up, two of which already pulled away due to the wait time. Another 10 minutes to even get me into the now open bay, while four guys in uniforms just wandered around talking and laughing having a great time. No one spoke to me after I was guided into the bay, and after another 15 minutes I was done waiting. So I've been to this location several times before and the experience has always been ok. I understand that when it's busy you can have a pretty good wait, but today there were two cars in the bay that had been there for a while and one car parked that was waiting on service so usually that means I could get in and out of there in a reasonable time. I was wrong! I waited for almost an hour to even pull into a bay and then another 30 minutes for the employees to finally start changing the oil on my car. I would have left but I absolutely need to get this done today. But the reason why it took so long was because the three employees that were working were definitely not interested in moving any faster than they had to. They were more concerned with what was on Their phones and talking about what video games they liked to play. What plans they had after they got off work. What made all of this even worse was the manager on duty was the main culprit. I'm done with this place. There are a lot of other options in the area and I'm sure they will be quicker and more professional. read more

TL;DR: They lost a bolt removing a part that didn't need to be moved and then used a zip tie to hold it in place without telling me. I had seen this chain pop up in my area and the idea of getting a contactless oil change during this pandemic enticed me to come in. It was Friday at noon and they were quite busy. I was directed to one of two bays that both had a line with 5 cars deep. Each car took about 20 mins average. When I finally got in, the process was quick, friendly, and efficient. The guys working on my car was friendly and professional. Fast forward a couple of days, I started noticing a noise coming from the engine. A noise I knew was not there before getting the oil change. I brought it back that weekend and Jack took a look but was not able to diagnose it. He tightened some bolts an assured me everything was in place as it should be. He suggested I come back when his manager was there. So I came back a few days after that. Austin, manager, was there this time and did his own inspection. He basically told me again everything looked like it was in place. The only thing he could suggest it could be was my AC compressor. We turned the AC off and on and noticed that the noise was reduced when the AC was turned off. He made it clear that it was just a guess and gave me a card to a mechanic nearby. Instinctively I didn't think it was a coincidence that I heard this noise right after getting an oil change here. I am paranoid when it comes to hearing any abnormal sounds from my car. I purchased new tires for my car and the mechanic there informed me that the sound I was hearing was coming from a part that had been zip tied down due to a missing bolt. Attached is a picture of a weak ass green zip tie that was placed because someone lost a bolt when removing a piece that didn't need to be removed. The air filter could easily be accessed by simply popping out a segment of the airflow piece thingy. The white zip tie is from the place that I had my tires replaced. They did a better job at temporarily fixing the problem. Two stars because they were nice and it turned out to be a minor issue. Nevertheless, I will not be returning and placing my car under the care of the inexperienced techs here. Because of them, I have zip ties under my hood right now and that's just not cool. read more

Take 5 Oil Change, I took my dad's car to take 5's saginaw on saginaw blvd and Bailey Boswell to have an oil change and replacing the engine air filter. As soon as I drove my car off the lot after having all of the services done, the engine completely shutoff and check engine went off, I literally got stuck in the middle of the road. I walked back to the store to tell them they messed something up and need to fix it because my car was working fine until they replace the air filter and change oil. The tech called the manager to come by and she couldn't identify anything, she said she would call me the next day but I didn't hear anything back either. Thank God my cousin lives near by so I could ask for help to push the car to the nearby Walmart auto center's parking lot and had their supervisor looked at. He said since they don't do engine, he couldn't do anything but it sounds to him when Take 5 Oil Change changed the air filter something messed up and caused the butterfly door to get stuck, he did write a small note to describe his finding and the event that happened. I had to leave the car at Walmart auto center's parking lot overnight until the following day to tow it to Freeman Toyota so they can take it apart to see what's going on. Low and behold, when the Take 5 Oil Change's tech changed the air filter, he broke a plastic piece of the box and it caused the butterfly door to get stuck, which caused the sensor to go all crazy and shut the engine down for safety concern. They did give me a report of their finding and the fix. I have already called Take 5 Oil Change hotline to report the issue, and was supposed to hear back from them in 5 days but it has been over 2 weeks without hearing anything. I'm extremely disappointed with Take 5 Oil Change for the bad customer support. I'm out for over $600 between tow truck and the dealership to fix this problem that was caused by Take 5 Oil Change and what irritated me the most was the fact that I didn't hear anything from the store manager or from your team when they told me I should hear back within 5 days for this issue. I really love this location. Staff is always helpful and kind. Super quick once you get in the bay. My one thing, which is probably either an owner/corporate thing, is that it seems like this location is understaffed. When I got my oil changed there were only 2 employees working. The guy gave me water and was transparent about the wait, however I personally don't think that there should only be 2 guys on shift knocking out car after car, especially in this heat. They then kept trying to get me to do an oil change when I did NOT need one. I manage a mechanic shop and I know my car. I had just done one 3 days prior. They had me back up. Wait another 30 minutes for my state inspection. This time, I got there 15 minutes before close. 1 car in the bay. This place is bad. Only one bay for inspections, tell you it'll be a few minutes later. Thirty minutes you're still waiting , cars jumping the line. Workers are clueless. It's an overpriced oil change and they are constantly up selling you on overpriced wipers, lying about the condition of the air filter.
