Extremely disappointed with the Austin Hwy location. Broadway sent me to Austin Hwy, where I was told the manager Joe would be expecting me -- he wasn't. I sat in the bay for 15 minutes with no update while an employee scrolled on his phone. No water offered, no courtesy. Worse, the music blasting from the shop was full of profanity -- N-word, "b****es," "a**," and worse. Completely inappropriate for any customer, let alone a family. I called customer service afterward to check if Broadway had restocked the filter -- they said they'd call back. Never did. This whole experience was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. I do not recommend Take 5. Their locations are ghetto. read more

The guys weren't "there" mentally. Running around chaotic. Half doing multiple cars at once. Vehicle wasn't leaking oil when I went in, it's leaking now. One fella pulled on my grill and headlight when going down into the hole and pulled out and broke my brand new grill pop ins and headlight fasteners.... Pretty upset. i pulled up to this location where 3/3 car lanes had a present car and two car's in a middle lane line. as i got in line one car pulled off where the drivered appeared and drove off very annoyed. honestly that was my sign. i stayed though 1/3 cars in the worling lane was being tended two while the other two cars were unattended. the car in front on me was being addressed by the second worker. i pulled over to the lane on the far left where i was second in line on the left lane to which the second worker watched me park while before he went back to working on the customers ca- moral of the story i waiting in line for about 30-40 minutes while an additional care arrivied after me for service and was helped right away for the exact same thing i needed (was air in my tires) and drove off no problem buy the first worker (while all 3 cars were still parked and unattended in the work hood) the second worker approached my car as the first worker finished the last tire on the other truck and asked me had i been helped as he watched the who 30 minutes i was there literally waiting. i told him i just needed air in my tires and he stated he would notify the worker currently finishing last tire on the truck. then ! then worker walked away and began fidgiting around the workshop again. did not even notify the other worker. 0/10, do not recommend this location. read more

Both of our vehicles have needed repairs after recent oil changes. The technicians broke the fasteners that enclose the area under the vehicle where they drain the oil. Fortunately, with the most recent second vehicle they disclosed the issue (although they drilled holes that are now too big for the standard fasteners). The other vehicle's damage was not discovered until I had backed out of my driveway and was on my way to work and heard the scraping noise! read more

Sincerest thanks to the team at this location. This veteran appreciates you! I needed to have my car inspected to renew my vet-tags on my car. So I decided to swing by here at lunch time. First of all, the young man that came out to greet me brought me a nice cold water...Thank You. I was then waved into the center bay, where they checked my tires, oil, air filter and fluids. Meanwhile, I was able to sit and have a nice conversation with my co-worker, renew my tags (upon receipt of my inspection receipt), and order lunch. Then there was an 'Excuse Me' and they let me know they were all done in what seemed like just a few minutes later. To top it all off, they gave me my military discount and my co-worker was impressed about my ability multi-task. I maximized my lunch hour and got everything I needed for my car (my ride-or-die). read more

Took longer than 5... I rolled in here to get some new oil! After waiting a bit for a free bay, a gentleman approached my car with a bottle of cold water and asked how he could be of service. This was much appreciated! He directed me into the bay, and started making inquiries into the availability of the filter required for my make/model of vehicle. After some searching, he determined that he was out of stock on my filter, but if I wanted to run across the parking lot to Advance Auto Parts and bring him the filter, they could get me taken care of. I pulled out of the bay, ran over as directed, purchased the needed oil filter, and returned, where I got waved right in to a bay, and got to get serviced first, since I was there earlier. Good service would have ran across the parking lot for me and grabbed the correct filter and added it to my bill. I was a bit chagrined to see that the mechanics working on my car were rather green, and were pretty novice. I heard the boss having to train the mechanics on my car. "This is a torque wrench- have you seen one of these before?" "No boss." They were unfamiliar with how to replace my vehicle's unusual oil filter, and the boss had to show them. I heard the boss using my oil filter replacement as a 'teachable moment' when they had replaced the filter prior to draining the oil, which was done out of order. The boss called the mechanics out on it, and told them the right way to do it. I was stuck with them having done it wrong. I guess it's not a big deal. All of the mechanics seemed like it was their first day on the job. The boss seemed to know what he was doing. I was also unhappy to hear the mechanics using a compression wrench on my oil filter pan plug, which I always worry is going to cross thread the bolt and mess things up, especially in the hands of a novice. I prefer it to be hand tightened, but I guess they gotta move things along. They also spilled oil all on my engine block cover, which I had to go and clean up on my own. It was about a quarter of a cup that they spilled on the engine block, which didn't make it in to my oil pan. In the end, they lubed my car up, but what a pain. read more

I went to this location on 7 June 22 and unfortunately they were out of military discounts for the day, per Ray the assistant manager. Checking their website, I was surprised to see that a store could run out of military discounts but given my military plates, I would've appreciated being advised of this BEFORE they began service on my vehicle. It would've saved me over $25 and I would've been far more likely to return. I was a new customer, my wife was not; however, we will be taking both vehicles to Jiffy Lube instead. I also felt like Ray was quick to recommend filter replacements when they really didn't need it, as they were replaced less than a year ago. If customer service sees this, I'd love to be recontacted so we can discuss. read more

I pulled up to this location at 7:35 AM they had been open for 30 minutes already and there were no cars in front of me. No staff were available in any of the base somebody from a vehicle parked in the lot walked up and asked how they could help me. I stated I would like an oil change they advised me that they were unable to perform any services because their systems were not up and running. Some excuse about how something last night wasn't done correctly I'm not sure it doesn't matter because I can't get the work done that I need it. Just a friendly heads up: do come here instead of jiffylube or Firestone. Most times they will overcharge and scam you, saying you need all kinds of things that you don't. These guys are honest, and reliable. The manager gave me a first time customer discount, and everything came out to a very reasonable price. I will not be going anywhere else, personally. read more

These guys always give exceptional service and don't try to oversell you anything you don't really need. If you song up with email you get great coupons with the 100000 emails sent per day. Might be a lil on the higher price but the oil, service and experience is worth it and you have peace of mind that your oil cap was place on correctly and your filter was not over tighten which will just cause worse problems. Hi, I had the absolute worst experience getting my oil changed here and someone other than the manager there needs to know about it since he had part in it. I get my oil changed no problem, (been there before) leave, and get on the highway, 2 minutes later I hear and feel a loud metal scraping and grinding sound, they didn't put my skid plates back on properly. So I had to pull over off the side of the highway because my car wasn't safe to drive. I call them and they say someone is coming to help, 30 min later no one (I'm only 8 minutes away) I call and the guy can't find me even though I'm right in front of a hotel I gave him name of. Another 20 minutes and he's finally there, he ties the plates up then I have to drive back to the take 5. When I get there the manger apologizes and says they're going to double check everything. They refund me for only the oil services not the other $40 for air filter even though this is now an hour and half since I first left. After they finished I left, washed my car, that's when I looked underneath and saw that they put it back together with FKING ZIPTIES!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!!! When I get back to take 5 and talk to manager he says that's it's fine that those ones that were zip tied were missing before I said NOOO way I know for a fact that's false there was nothing wrong or missing with my car because it just came from dealer ship, and I told him if those ones were missing then they didn't put them back the LAST TIME I got my oil changed which was right after I got my car from the dealership. That's when he says if they were missing it would of just fell down like it did before, so he starts contradicting himself, but saying the zipties are ok. After he realizes this fast one isn't going to work with me he goes to call his boss, comes back says they're going to ford to get the screws. I wait another hour before they're back, they end up putting a new skid plate but don't even tell me just say they replaced the bolts. Overall about 4 hours huge waste of my day and very frustrating since the manager was trying to say it's my fault / argue with me / pull a fast one. read more

I will never again take my car to a Take 5 Oil Change and possibly not any other quick oil change place if this is an example of the responsibility of service they provide. The technicians there were courteous, and did their job quickly, but within a little over an hour, after making a stop at the bank, and at a CVS, I began to hear a loud scraping noise underneath my car as I drove. It worsened as I turned into a parking lot to stop and see what it was. The cover under my car that they take off and then put back on after an oil change, had come loose and was hanging down and dragging. I called Take 5 , explained what happened and was initially told that they were unable to get a hold of anyone at that particular shop, but would transfer me to someone who could help me. That person told me that they could have my car towed to a nearby body shop where it could looked at and repaired, gave me a claim number, and said that someone would call me the next day. When I didn't hear from anyone the next day, I called with my claim number to see if I could get an update and was told that a claims representative would call me within the hour. Well they did...but only to tell me that my car was towed to that body shop in error and that they just had no evidence of any damage that Take 5 was responsible for, and so the claim was denied. Now, I'm having to work with the body shop to see what it's going to cost for me to have it fixed myself. I understand that things can go wrong when you're provided a service, but I would hope that the company would take responsibility when it does. read more
