As a career service member and passionate auto enthusiast, I've had the chance to live both overseas and in the US. While stationed in San Antonio, I had some Dinan upgrades done on my BMW 540M Sport, including intake, throttle body, headers, exhaust, and engine/transmission tuning. About a week later, my check engine light came on. I took the car to the local BMW dealership, where it sat for over a month without resolution, despite the fact that I had bought and serviced the car there. Was over charged 2-3hrs of labor. When asked they couldn't exactly tell me why I was being charged so much. Quoted 2-3hrs labor, ended up paying for 7hrs with no prior knowledge of being charged more. Definitely shady business practices. You can't blanket charge a customer. read more

Have you had when business owner gave you F - bomb? Well i got one in this business. This is what happened: 1) I brought my bmw with 117k miles for oil change , didnt take long and person at the front was super awesome. He told me i need to change my air filter because it is in a very bad condition, so i agreed and paid for it. 2) I brought my car at 121k for AC work. I was told at the end i needed to change my air filter. I explained that i changed it just last visit. Gentlemen said: " ok well ill just shake the dust of it and it should be good then. " i paid for service and left still pleased. 3) i bring my car at 125k because my engine light came on. I left car at 930- didnt get it back till 4. I am ok with it because i want to make sure everything is fine. At the end front line customer service explained what kind of work and tests they did. They found nothing wrong but AC filter needs to be changed. ( do you see my concern now?) so i asked: " why is it 3 times i come and all three times i am being told i need to change it ? I check online and unless i live in very dusty area it shouldnt be happening that often. Customer service was polite and he told he will check to see my last work was done. While he is doing this , guy who was standing to his left started to yell and said :" F ... This here is your old air filter (and he pulled light pink filter with some dust on it) give me the keys ill put it back because since she is complaining about so much . " I told him i have no time and i will pay for the service and filter, change my review on this place , and i wont come back. ( good thing i had keys in my hands now because he was forcefully going to take and put it in my car). Guy kept yelling and saying : " no you dont pay for filter. I dont need it. And we wont do any more work for your car so do not give her anymore estimates." Front customer service guy was in shock just like me because i couldnt believe that im being yelled at in the business like this . I insisted on paying. I explained that I appreciate for checking my engine and i have no time to change back to old filter , i wanted to pay. So crazy yelling guy ripped my bill from service guy and said: " no you go and dont come back. And when you change your review make sure you tell them i didnt want you to pay maybe that will balance the situation!" I dont know how about you but i dont care if i pay or not. I do NOT want to be yelled at in ANY type of business. So I quietly ask service guy if this is the owner and he said : yes he is. I went to my car where i found their tool , I returned and gave it to them. I do not recommend this place. read more

I called for an appointment for a simple oil / filter change for a BMW. They had an opening the next morning and it took about 1.25 hours. The staff was very pleasant and prices were reasonable. No loaner cars and no wi-fi in the waiting room, but Infinitely better than going to BMW San Antonio. read more

I'm really picky with my old BMW E30 convertible. I don't want just any mechanic or garage to touch it or work on it. Turns out that Rhine West may be even pickier. They really know their stuff and will go out of their way to take care of your car (and you). Their results for my recent job - a timing belt, related items, and a few other tasks - were just top notch. If they discover something extra that's needed, they'll explain it and run it by you; if something is not needed they won't do it. And through it all, they are very careful with your car. For the price you will likely not find a better place to get your BMW serviced. If you appreciate a warm greeting upon arrival, a service rep's undivided attention, and excellent customer service, then Rhine West BMW service center is NOT the place to go. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change at 0930 this morning. Upon checking in I was told it would be an hour to an hour and a half by the service rep who didn't even look up from the computer screen and who questioned I even had an appointment. I mentioned I had a meeting at 1100. I was told "I'll do the best I can, but don't wanna make any guarantees." My car sat for 15 minutes before being driven to the back for service. At 1045 my car was pulled to the front unwashed. I mentioned this to Juan who said, "It's not a mandatory thing. Now, if a customer was spending a lot of money...and I knew you were on a time crunch." I said, "I have always had my car washed with service." "You may have just lost a customer." To which he replied, "Cuz we didn't wash your car?" I told him, "I've spent thousands of dollars here, but I guess you don't need my business." He handed me my receipt for $146.00 (not a lot of money) and said "Have a nice day." That was all. It's about customer service, Sir. read more

I have known these guys for over 17 years. I keep bringing my cars there because they are knowledgeable, honest, courteous, helpful and I know my car is well taken care of. In fact the reason why I started going there is because BMW of SA recommended them to me!! yeah that's right...You would think BMW would see them as a competitor since most or all of Rhinewest's work is done on BMW's but at the time I was trying to a supercharger (SC) on my BMW3 and BMW of SA did not have the know-how nor were they an authorized Dinan SC installer, or Brembo dealer. Another reason why I like and respect them is because their owner David is there every day before anyone else is incredible smart and nice guy to talk to. So I don't know how long they have been in business (a long time) but I appreciate a sole proprietor business that has endured this long it must be because they keep customers happy right?.
