I was given a table to enjoy before my second guest arrived so I could settle in and place an order in advance. Booths were available just beyond table and chair seating. Love the wood and leather finishes and soft lighting choices that create a subdued atmosphere even mid-day. I was given a lunch/dinner menu and a Lunch Special prix fixe that offered an appetizer and entree for $25. The spicy carrot hummus was recommended and didn't disappoint as well as the grilled chicken sandwich w/ bbq sauce on a buttered pretzel bun. Everything was fresh and excellent and I would order it all again. Noticed the happy hour at the bar is a pretty sweet deal as well with $8 wine, $6 beer, and $10 bites. The breakfast items that I ordered were fast to make, with good service. I was able to get the omelette without the ham. The vegetarian omelette was thick and fluffy, with a good amount of sliced portobello mushrooms and spinach. It came with a side of market salad (leafy greens, cherry tomatoes, carrot, radish, cucumber), making it a great low-carb & high-protein breakfast option. The fruits platter was also excellent - came with a good amount of various sliced fruits (cantaloupe, honeydew, orange, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries) that were all very fresh. The milk, however tasted thick and a bit bitter. Not sure if they gave me homogenized milk (3.25%) or the milk was starting to turn bad. Unfortunately I couldn't drink it. read more

We ended up at Take Care mostly for convenience since it was attached to our hotel--but it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of the trip. I ordered the burger, and honestly, I'm still thinking about it. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly juicy, and served on a soft, pillowy bun that brought everything together. Sometimes a simple dish done really well is all you need, and this absolutely delivered. Only my second time to New York City there are not a lot of restaurant options around the Hyatt Grand hotel on 42nd street. We stopped in around 4pm and I have to say that the waiter was great and the food was excellent but once the small restaurant filled up our waiter and service disappeared. We ended up waiting a very long time to be noticed and that was because we had to stop someone in their tracks to help us. But over all the food was excellent but it seems that if they are busy you'll have to wait around for a while. read more

We came down to the lobby for dinner after a long day of travel and were sat fairly quickly. Lighting was very dark and there were a decent amount of patrons so it was fairly busy. For food, I had the "Breakfast Burrito" (scrambled egg, tater tots, tomatillo salsa, chorizo, white beans), my wife had the "Avocado Toast" (grilled sourdough, sunflower seeds, watercress, pickled chilis, topped w/ an egg), our friend had the "Pancake Stack" (maple butter sauce, banana, blueberries), our older son and his friend both had the "I Don't Know" (pancakes, chocolate chips, maple syrup) and our younger son had the "I Don't Care" (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon). This has become "THE SPOT" for our book club meetings because of its cozy and inviting atmosphere! Our waiter Joel is always friendly and attentive, and the manager Fabio always takes care of my friends when we dine here. At this point, we each have a "favorite dish" from the menu which always gets ordered. I would recommend the margherita flatbread, caesar salad and the fries! I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago while on vacation and unfortunately did not have a great experience. The dining room was extremely hot, and there didn't appear to be any air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable throughout the meal. The food also took quite a while to arrive. I ordered a tequila mule, but it was lacking flavor and was underwhelming. For my entrée, I ordered the steak medium well, but it came out medium rare. Despite being undercooked, the steak was surprisingly tough and chewy, and it did not seem like a quality cut of meat considering the price. The waiter was friendly and provided good service, which was the highlight of the visit. However, due to the uncomfortable atmosphere, slow food service, disappointing drink, and poor-quality steak, I would not recommend dining here. read more

Amazing! My friend and I popped in for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The server was very lovely and made sure our needs were met. The food was delectable. It felt like home all in one. The bistro itself is very nicely lit. I almost felt like I was in a movie. I had the Turkish eggs and a side of Bourbon glazed bacon. The chili-drizzled poached eggs sat on a bed of yogurt nestled against triangles of thin flatbread. Very hearty and filling for someone who was on their feet all day. The bacon was such a treat. I was afraid they would be soggy from the glaze or a little too sweet but it was the absolute perfect balance of both. My friend tried out the chicken and waffles and I was almost jealous that I hadn't ordered that. After being given a piece to try, I can confidently say that the Belgian waffle had the nicest crispy exterior and a beautifully fluffy inside. The chicken was such a wonderful savory pairing to the not too sweet waffle. The iced coffee was a nice side pairing. This restaurant is connected to a hotel. Came here with my friend we were not hotel guests. It was not crowded what so ever! There were four of us and all got different things to eat. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich, another one got an egg dish and the other friend got a burger. I got the omelette. We also all got the refreshing mint mocktail. I also got an iced latte that it looked very milky. We all enjoyed our meals. The waiter was ok. Nice spot to come if you want a meal before catching a train at Grand central or if you are a guest at the hotel. They played 90s hits the whole time. I felt transported out of nyc for a little bit. I'm pretty disappointed on the food here, we had ordered just pancakes, waffles and bacon. As you can see the bacon looks black on the picture, they were burnt and covered and idk what it didn't say on the menu, the pancakes look sad I had to pay extra for fruit, the pancakes had a weird difference taste to it I quite didn't like it. Now the waffles were actually good it was different than any other waffles but it had a taste similar as the pancake it started to make me feel sick the more I ate it. The place gives an upscaled dinner feel, the servers were nice and the food was good. I loved the mushrooms, the glaze was sweet and creamy, with a vinaigrette tart, but not over powering to the flavor of the mushrooms. Then the pine nuts gave the dish a nice crunch.
