So happy we chose Take the Cake for our wedding! Laurie is probably one of the coolest people you'll ever meet. She listened to every detail and made it happen. Our cake was so cute and not to mention DELICIOUS! Butter pecan cake with amaretto filling and cheesecake frosting. Seriously, the best cake I've ever had. Our guests still rave about it and we're honestly considering ordering the same thing for our anniversaries to come!

Our cake was fabulous. We asked for a simple bride and groom cake. She did an amazing chocolate cake with a peanut butter layer in the middle. 3 days later still eating it and it is moist as on day-of. Laurie is so sweet, responsive, and came right on time to a remote location for delivery! So amazing! read more

Our cake was BOTH beautiful and DELICIOUS!!! Laurie was a joy to work with and her work was impeccable! She listened to our vision and made sure the cake was exactly what we wanted. We met with Laurie to do a tasting and she prepared a huge goody bag with cakes, fillings, and icings that we picked off her menu. Honestly, everything we tasted was amazing, but the one thing that surprised us was how scrumptious her raspberry filling is! Give us a jar of that stuff anytime! Our guests absolutely loved the cake; even those who don't like cake! The price was right for her cake and there was absolutely no compromise on the look or taste! She also delivered the cake from Cottonwood to our wedding in Sedona. Thank you for giving us Sedona brides some affordable options for a gorgeous wedding cake! Laurie is incredible! Easy to work with, communicates promptly, super sweet and her creation for my wedding cake was beyond my expectations! She made the flowers on the cake look identical to the flowers in my wedding bouquet! I was blown away and obsessed with how perfect it was. The taste and texture of the cake was delicious, rich, and moist! Very reasonable pricing and she even delivered it to me. Being from Kentucky and coming to Sedona AZ for my wedding we did everything through phone and email. With the ideas I sent her and full creative freedom she came up with a wedding cake that I couldn't have been more pleased with!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Laura was quick to respond to my emails, asked me what I was looking for, and created a beautiful (and delicious) cake for my daughter's graduation party from Northern Arizona University. Laurie is an amazing baker and amazing person. From beginning to end and even 2 years beyond the end she has been a delight to work with and her cakes have been a delight to eat. My wife and I weren't sure what to choose for our wedding dessert, as we can be nontraditional and are not usually big fans of cake. Laurie's way of setting up the tasting was so cool--she allowed us to taste our cake, filling, and frosting options in every combination with a scorecard, making the process fun and allowing us to make just the right choice for every element. Laurie's wedding cake made it clear we made the the right choice for our special day. All of our guests commented on the wonderful cake. From the taste to the cake's aesthetics, from Laurie's responsiveness to her reliability, everything about our experience was exceptional. That plan never survives contact with the display case. You start pointing things out, adding one more, then another, and suddenly you're walking out with a full box. My go-to is the Bavarian cream pastry. It's perfect. Not overly sweet, not heavy, just balanced and done right. It's the kind of thing you finish and immediately think about grabbing another. The pricing almost feels like a mistake in your favor. On our last visit, we bought enough pastries for ten people, with extras left over, and it came out to just under $20. Back near our place in Rhode Island, that same box would easily be double. Probably more. Here, it feels like you're getting away with something. And then there's the service. The woman we usually see there is genuinely kind. Not forced, not transactional. Just warm, welcoming, and happy to see people walk in the door. It adds to the whole experience in a way that's hard to fake. This place doesn't try to impress you. It just quietly delivers every time you show up. If you're anywhere near Cottonwood, stop in. You'll go in for one thing and leave with more, and you won't regret it.

Set in a repurposed gas station, Bing's Burger Station serves delicious, high quality burgers and…read morefries. We originally thought this would be typical drive-in fare, but the quality and freshness exceeded my expectations. It's really a step above most other similar greasy diner and drive-in establishments. Burgers here are extremely customizable. To save time waiting in line, Bing's provides slips of paper by the counter to fill in for ease of ordering. Simply fill one out and pay at the register to get an order started. A lot of items seem to be made fresh to order, so the food took about 20 minutes to arrive. Deluxe Burger, Bacon Jam, Mayo, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Pickle ($10.25) - This is a huge burger, tall enough to make it difficult to compress enough to fit in the mouth. They use pretty high quality ingredients here and seem to hand cut the veggies. The lettuce is nice and crisp, the tomato is thick cut and fresh, the red onion is an entire slice instead of rings. The pickles are much larger than typical chips but still have that kind of neon-green sheen to them. Mayo is only spread on the top bun slice, enough to lubricate the burger, but not too much to become too messy to eat. The burger patty is excellent. It seems to be made from fresh beef and then only slightly smashed from a ball on the flat top. It's a THICK patty, served piping hot with good char and robust beefy flavor. The interior is cooked until well done with no pink, but it's not dried out at all, and there's more than enough moisture coming from the other ingredients to balance it out. The bacon jam that I added for $1 is a fantastic addition. It's sweet from sugars and caramelized onion and full of bacon umami. The burger as a whole isn't very greasy at all. (5/5) Large Hand Cut Fries ($6) - The fries are relatively thin, shoestring-like, fried to a darker golden brown giving a good caramelized potato flavor. The interiors remain mostly fluffy, although some of the smaller fries approach being dry. The exteriors are mostly crisp, but much softer than, say, battered fries. The fries are appropriately salted and peppered, meaning that they are nice to eat without any accompanying ketchup or other dip. They are on the more oily side compared to some other places. (4/5) Bing's serves food with really fresh flavors. It's simple fare, but very high quality. I'd definitely return for more if I'm ever back in town. Bathrooms - One unisex room outside the restaurant on the North side. Note: Bing's charges a 3% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu (actually the menu states 3.9% fee)

We chose Take the Cake to do our baby shower cake and cupcakes! Laurie was amazing. She had great communication from the very beginning, which I love since that is hard to find here! I sent her photos and ideas I had in mind, and it turned out just as we imagined and more. The detail of the flowers we wanted on top were to perfection. Everyone also raved about the cupcakes themselves! They tasted freakin phenomenal! I'm not a fan of frosting, but this was so light, not too sweet and just perfect, too! She delivered to our event, which was amazing because everyone was in such a rush to get things done, and she took that off my plate.
