It's a family run operation, & they are very pleasant to deal with. I'm happy to support them because they give great service and great food. We ordered on line which made it very simple to pick up. They were quick to prepare the order. But Chinese food does not take long. We had chicken and broccoli and tofu pad woo sen. I'd don't use much seasoning so for me the food was good. My wife likes more spice and felt it was bland. The chicken was tender and the food was well cooked. I'd go back again. This place would be su mush better if they took a minute and fixed it up. Let's start with the broken table out front. Seriously? How about a little paint and fix the plexiglass. Against my better judgement I gave Taki Outi a try. Decided to do Thai and ordered red curry shrimp and spring rolls. Place is pretty dirty. Counter kid was friendly. Let's start with the apring rolls. Nicely crisp on the outside, frighteningly mushy on the inside. No idea what was in them but there was nothing springy or fresh. I saw some orange so there were carrots in there somewhere. Flavor was between oatmeal and mud. As for the curry, at first I thought they'd given me soup. It was a quart sized container filled with a fairly thin liquid. Upon tasting, the flavor was reminiscent of red curry but only remotely. Overall it was bland. I honestly couldn't bring myself to order anything here because the menu and restaurant looked super unappetizing and still each dish costs at least $10. I ended up trying my friends' pad Thai and it was basically just edible. The sauce had some semblance of pad Thai but was runny and not good. The chicken was ok. Also there was some worker yelling angrily at someone in the back like the whole time we were eating hah. Definitely not somewhere I will be returning. Wow, this is one time where the other (negative) Yelp reviews might have discouraged us to try this place, but the honey and I were CRAVING Chinese takeout. So, we courageously placed our order via phone and hoped for the best! I'm VERY glad we gave Taki Outi a whirl! I have no idea why other reviewers say the food is bland; we ordered four dishes and each one was flavorful. We tried the Mongolian beef. The beef slices had a terrific grilled flavor and were very tender. However, the dish had a TON of white onion slices and very few green onions; I'm used to more of a balance between the two onion types. Thus, I just pushed some of the white onions aside and om nom nom...yum! We also ordered cashew chicken, which again was very tasty and had loads of yummy, whole cashews and tender chicken. The "special" lo mein noodles and "special" fried rice were both delicious, too. I wasn't as crazy about the shrimp in both dishes as they were slightly tough so I'd probably just order a pork fried rice next time and maybe a mixed lo mein. Our order came with a large steamed white rice, the usual condiments (soy, duck sauce...I think I'd request hot mustard next time) and the ubiquitous fortune cookie. We ordered enough for four since that's how many cookies they included ;) so yes...order the "large" portion of fried rice and noodles so you have plenty for leftovers! We're thrilled to have a good, local takeout for Chinese food. They deliver, too. Also...the menu includes Thai and Japanese dishes as well, so maybe we'll try those next time! And...Yelpers! My family ordered delivery tonight as most restaurants had over an hour wait for dinner. Despite the other reviews posted, we really enjoyed our dinner and had so many leftovers we could all eat again twice. Every dish was really great except for the sweet and sour chicken which came so dry with no sauce. Overall, would recommend every dish, especially the lo mein. The delivery driver was here in under 45 minutes and was very helpful getting us our food. Beef thai salad is salad topped with fried onions and fried beef strips on top. No taste from the onions and no taste from the beef. The additional dressing is nowhere near thai taste. Really disappointing. Nothing is spicy even though they say so on the menu. Their chinese kitchen is a tad better but still rather bland. My suggestion to the chef is go out and taste some proper tasting thai & chinese cuisine first before mudding on in this direction. For all the haters I have to disagree, they did get bought out by Great Wall but that is the main Chinese restaurant in the keys, has been for decades. I have had delivery more times than I can count and it's always wonderful, if you had to wait awhile to get your delivery it is probably because we only have one road and when the tourists are down traffic can suck. Yes you can use the old road but it doesn't connect all the island chains. Taki Outi has a great menu of Thai, Chinese and Japanese and sushi as well. The price is fair and they are very nice people. I personally love this place and I have traveled and had some of the best in the world, for the Keys this place is doing pretty good. It's better than always having to order Italian for delivery or getting tourist seafood restaurants for take out. If you want something besides pizza or over priced tourist joints order from these guys, the dumplings and crab rangoons Rock!!!!!! read more

EWWW EWWW EWWW. I think I'm gonna have the shits tonight!!! My stomach hurts so bad. First off there was nobody in the restaurant when I entered. Nobody behind the counter. I called out and looked around but it seemed to be empty. My gut immediately told me to go somewhere else but the craving for Chinese food won that fight. After reviewing the menu while waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence, I called out again after 5 minutes and two guys came from somewhere in the back. I ordered the General Tso Chicken and asked for spicy and a side of Tom Yum soup with chicken. Both of these items said they were spicy on the menu but neither had even the smallest hint of fire. I don't like dark meat so I ordered my General Tso with all white meat. The chicken was so mushy and just fell apart. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it expired and has been sitting in the fridge for over 2 weeks. There wasn't any crisp to the breading on the outside either. The soup smelled rather rancid and I couldn't bring myself to eat it. *Sigh* can someone please open a decent chinese food place in the Keys??? read more

This was my favorite Chinese place in Islamorada...until they sold it several month's ago. I have since eaten their food 4 times and each time has reinforced how bad it is. Bland would be a compliment The food is terrible. Without exaggeration, I have given my past two meals to my dogs. I also, the last 2 times, ordered dinner combinations and received only the base item (IE Egg Foo Yung), white rice, no egg roll... I stopped in another store in the same plaza and three people criticized my dining choice. Since the new owners...do your self a favor and find some other place. Never again for me. Great name....
