Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten! I drove 10 miles to pick up takeout - if I was dining in I would have sent most of it back. The crab rangoon filling was decent, but it was encased in mushy, burnt oil smelling wontons. Pretty sure they need to change the oil in their fryer! The spring rolls were good except for that same burnt oil. The beef fried rice was tasteless and the onions and sprouts were barely cooked. We threw most of it away. The only Chinese place around Upper Keys, Key Largo. Pretty delicious too! Was craving some noodles and they did a good job. Soup was good with lots of veges. Beef and broccoli was soft and had a plentiful amount of broccoli. I appreciated the orange chicken that had real orange zest in it. Huge portions and really decent prices too! Just got some food from this place, Beats any other Chinese place I've been in for the at least the last 5 years. Great service, great food. It was very peaceful and ambiance was top notch. Very good people. The woman who served us was very sweet, and honest. She checked in on us, checked all the boxes off what you want from a waiter. Right when I left, she gave me my phone, which I had left on the table, which was very honest, and nice of her. I had only spent about 40$ plus an 11$ tip. Overall, very good business they have here! Who takes a customer's order over the phone then does not deliver it or even answer the phone again?? We showed up in person after 2 HOURS of 0 communication just for them to tell us the delivery driver was on the way (we live 8 minute away) and they're "sorry". This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is a decent option when you're in The Keys and looking for a little Chinese. Great Wall is standard grade as it offers the quality of food you'd expect from your average Chinese spot. After ordering over the phone, the food is prepared relatively quickly. It's a small-sized restaurant so you shouldn't arrive for pick up any sooner than you have to. Heed the recommended wait time! If you do arrive early, the restaurant has a couple chairs by the door designated for you. The server by the entrance working the cashier is very nice and carries a great attitude towards guests. General Tso's Chicken, prepared to-go, comes warm with a lot of nuggets and a surplus of sauce and broccoli to boot. Oh, don't mind the hot and spicy food warnings on the menu by the way. The order is very mild. There's not much else to say except that it's a pretty mundane dish with nothing particularly special to rave about. The same goes for the sides and noodles. Even if it's your first time visiting Great Wall, it all tastes very familiar as if you've been there before. read more

So here's the deal. There are better places to eat around the keys. If you are going for cheap chinese that is half way decent this is pretty good. Yes, a bit greasy but if your expectations are fine dining, you aren't going to find it here. The staff was abrupt but not rude, actually they were pretty nice if you chatted with them a little but I can see why some may think they were rude. The portions were huge. The egg rolls failed for me, I cannot really explain why though. I had half and that was more than enough. Ordered orange chicken to go and asked for extra spicy. It was borderline unedible. I had a couple of bites, had my wife try it, and threw it in the trash. There was no spice at all which could have at least masked the foul taste. The chicken tasted partially burnt with a hint of something sitting all day at a buffet. It should have been a clue when I walked in the place which did not appear clean. My wife got the szechauan chicken which was mediocre at best but at least edible. This is a little local gem in Tavernier. Located right next to the big Winn-Dixie, this restaurant has great lunch specials. The portions are huge, the prices are cheap, the service is stellar, and the food is decent to good. It's our go-to​ for work lunches where there's a bit of something for everyone. I like the lo mein (noodles), kung pao chicken, vegetable platter, sesame chicken lunch specials. All are enough to feed a person for 2-3 meals and cost under $10. The potstickers are also delicious as are the crab rangoon. The hot & sour soup is awesome. Some of the food is bland, but you can soy sauce or salt that up yourself. It's not going to be the best Chinese food you've ever had, but for the keys (where there are not that many ethnic restaurants other than cuban), and for how affordable it is, it's a winner. Being from the Bay Area, I may be a little spoiled, but this place is definitely a dump. I went in with no expectations at all. Just wanted something to fill our stomachs during our long ride from Orlando to key west. Excellent for local Asian cuisine To go is popping here as it is free delivery. Shrimp dishes have high quality seafood and the soups were a hit all around (wonton and egg drop.) HOWEVER was disappointed by vegetarian dishes. I had General Tsos chicken lunch special. The waitress quickly gave us hot tea and crispy strips. The appetizer was wonton soup. Very good wonton soup, tasted home made with a beefy meat inside the dumplings. The main course was also good. It had a very well flavored fried rice with lots of pieces of meat and vegetables in it. The chicken was freshly battered and fried with a sweet taste and a bit of a spicy kick. Only complaint is the dish was a bit on the heavy side. Everyone else's dish was good as well. Also, they don't have chow fun! :( When they warn you on the menu that something is going to be spicy, and it comes out tasting like it was seasoned with water, something is wrong. We were coming home from being in Chicago...and wanted a good spot for chinese. We looked this up on Yelp and were very pleasantly surprised. It was a wonderful family owned restaurant. The food was very fresh...and the service incredible. We had the Kung Pao chicken and General Tso's...and hot and sour soup and egg roll. I will go back again on my way up and down the Keys...it's a great little spot...a little hard to find as it's in a strip mall...but it's very good! read more
