I attended RTF's first ever 5 course vegan dinner affair. It was elegantly setup with a piano…read moreplayer, cocktails (zero cocktails as an option) and spoon appetizers as a starter. I was lucky enough to attend an Elite event including RTF beforehand- so I wasn't signing up for this with a completely blind eye. What's nice about RTF being able to have this event is that it might be more accessible to people in the area because it's a one time deal. The meal kit delivery service maybe could be a one time deal too, but I am not sure. I also learned that RTF shines on its own with the meal delivery kit service because they serve fresh food. Purple Carrot, Thistle, and Sakara Life are all frozen (or placed in a refrigerated package) even though accessible nationally. RTF can only deliver in the Philadelphia area and pickup would have to be done in a limited time frame of around ~11-1 on-site on a Monday if not opting for delivery service. Before the meal started, chef Josh introduced his event team. He expressed some personal stories that went into the dishes such as how he created a classier version of hummus on his own from his learnings and desire for hummus. Then something about his mother making the latke. So, he "had to" have a dish based on this and his mother was present at the event. His version of a chef based hummus was creamy with fresh vegetable accessories and it definitely made me like hummus a lot more than your typical grocery store. Third came the risotto dish- my dish was a bit too oily, but fine otherwise. Then, the King Trumpet mushroom platter which replicated a "steak" with the mushroom just being slightly perfectly burnt. At least one of my friends did not like the King Mushroom- they may not be used to pricier things that are a bit different than what they are used to. The cauliflower puree added was essential to make this dish stand out. Lastly, dessert was a lemon black sesame cake with coconut cream and peaches. This was an Internet recipe as Josh is not as big on bakery (if I remember correctly), but the interpretation came out fabulous anyway! It's hard to choose one "best" item as it was a tie between the hummus, King Mushroom dish, and the dessert cake for me. The day ended with optional coffee w brown sugar and a choice of soy milk or oat Milk and a surprise chocolate chip cookies mini gift bag. (All unpictured) When I wanted to speak to Josh as he was in the back area cleaning up, his mother half-jokingly told me that he probably didn't want to hear from her. It looked like his mother pulled him out from whatever he was doing, but he was nice to spend some time with me and hopefully got some good ideas he can implement. We talked about how he had extra ingredients he would not want to waste and I mentioned TooGoodToGo. So, if you see an RTF TooGoodToGo, you heard it here first! Nothing But Love Soulfood Catering uses TooGoodToGo at the Culinary Collective. I learned that there was significant cost to rent the dining area even though rent is already paid to use the kitchen setup of the Culinary Collective. There was cost for the staff and the food is fresh. Many of the ingredients chosen are a higher quality and standard, and people don't always realize this. The availability of various items may not have been known except within a limited time frame.

Nestled in a so-so neighborhood is a nice, inviting place called All the Way Live. Apparently,…read morethere is/was more than one of these locations, but when I look on their website, there is only this location currently. I was eating with mostly a vegan group of people and learned about how my interests differed greatly from theirs and learned to appreciate the different vegan spectrum levels more and to realize that there is more of a spectrum. Being a raw vegan is a whole nother level and while I am open to this kind of food, I wouldn't want to restrict myself to this lifestyle as it would be too stressful and unenjoyable for me. The group seemed to be a fan of this place, and I am no exception to that. Many didn't like Vedge at all whereas I did, one or two said Monster Vegan could consider charging more which i disagree with even though I haven't made it there yet, Su Xing seems to get respectable ratings by all, Charlie's is mixed but I am a fan personally. If vegan meat tastes too much like the real thing, this turns off a significant number of vegans. For a non-vegan foodie like myself, or possibly vegans strict to their diets that miss meat might appreciate this type of food accessibility. Even though the ingredients here are all raw vegan (to start), they are made flavorful for a more healthy experience. The apple cake I had here had a different texture than your typical American cake. I believe it was layers of fuji apple itself and it was made moderately sweet- not overly sweet like a typical American pastry. The candied squash I had here was fine with the unexpected salad to accompany it, but i didn't feel the candied part of it per se. The mushroom "cheesesteak" I didn't feel was really much of a vegan cheesesteak, but it was still flavorful enough with actual mushrooms and veggies within a roll. The prices are on the higher side but seemed appropriately priced too. The ginger lime drink I had tasted natural but flavorful. Pricy, but flavorful and refreshing. As to the reviewers who were frustrated by the place closing with no proper notification, that is very frustrating. I get it's a local place, but those kind of details are important to at least have on your website- something within the store's control. Somewhat ironically, my group was here because the Nile nearby was closed on this particular day only. This was on their Instagram. During my time here, my group asked me out of 10, how would I rate the cake. I said 9 or 10 at the time and don't regret that. They were surprised by such a high rating. I haven't had too many specific vegan cakes myself nor do I need to specifically try to overindulge myself in cakes. I was a bit overwhelmed to try to review on the spot but felt it was my duty to try to because I have been writing many reviews currently. Also, I see that it takes me time to think about all these things in my reviews like this one here. This review would have been too much to tell a person in-person. After further prior review investigation and more thought, 10% is high for credit card surcharge and there should be more transparency on that beforehand if not displayed well. 5% would probably still allow a slight profit but also be more appropriate and reasonably easy to calculate I think. Also, because of the area this is in, one could argue maybe the prices need to be tempered down. This is specialty too and it is all quite debatable.

I was excited when I saw that they were opening inside the Shoprite of Cheltenham and went over to meet the owner and to tell him how long I have been patronizing him. I finally got around to trying them today. Parking: a lot that's very very busy. Pack patience. Atmosphere: bright and noisy. Service: The order taker was very nice and helpful. Food selection: Build your own with lo mein noodles, chili garlic, lemon grass chicken and scallions. I wanted crispy shallots and crispy wonton chips but they were all out. My food had a burnt taste that lingered on my pallet and my noodles were very sticky. I am disappointed. I reached out by text to 1855-965-9675 and was told the number was their general line. I proceeded to tell the person my issue and they asked to see a picture and I sent to them. They responded saying "We do wok-sear the noodles but it shouldn't taste burnt". Some time passed after I responded and received no response. I sent back a hello message along with my receipt showing my purchase and still received no response. Customer service is everything to me and Wok Works doesn't seem to think that customer service is important. I won't be going back. Hopefully you'll have a better experience than I had. sent them a picture.
