Got the take out tonight. Chicken pad Thai and Orange chicken. The flavors were good however the spice level was not what I asked for. Orange chicken was more breading than chicken. ORDERS ALWAYS WRONG. My work had ordered food for pick up, 4 meals. I ordered a shrimp basil fried rice and received chicken instead even after the lady clarified the shrimp one was on the bottom. so i drove all the way back with the basil chicken fried rice told them my situation. They TOOK my chicken fried rice back to the kitchen to "remake" my order. the younger gentleman was kind enough to give me a free tea. When i got back to work and started eating my meal i realized they in fact attempted to pick out the chicken then add my shrimp. No refund, and did NOT re make my food. as you can see pictured is chicken in my "re made" basil shrimp fried rice. To take food back from a customer then re serve it to them is beyond me. my order is wrong every time i've came here the last 3 times. i won't be going back after this. read more

Stopped here to use a coupon in my Payback book. The pineapple fried rice was okay for what it was. The chicken didn't really have any flavor. It just seemed like they cooked everything up and tossed in some chicken that had already been cooked. The pineapple was from a can, as it is from most of these places, but I've had fresh pineapple once from another place and no other place has been able to live up to it. We ordered takeout from Talay tonight for the first time. We ordered panang curry, basil fried rice, pad thai, and pad see eiw. Honestly... everything was acceptable. The flavors were fine. The pad see eiw was significantly less sweeter than other versions I've had, which means that it tastes strongly of oyster sauce. The fried rice was the greasiest fried rice I've ever seen. The flavor of it was good, but it was so greasy and somebody put it in our to-go bag upside down so the grease seeped everywhere. Even after that, there was still a ton in the plastic container. The panang curry had a decent flavor too, but there's a ton of green beans and none of the ends are trimmed so you get these pointy little dudes jabbing you in the mouth when you eat it. The pad thai was reeeeeally sweet and the sauce was thick. Not really my things but again, not horrible. All in all, it's better than other places in Vancouver. More flavor than places like Arawan and Wild Tiger, definitely better than that place over by the craft warehouse on Mill Plain. But still leaves a lot to be desired. The owners are really friendly, though I was a little put off when the lady in line behind me cut in line after I'd been waiting ten minutes to be helped and the guy just rung her up when it was my turn. But whatever, that says more about that lady. In the end, I don't think we'll be back. It's about 18 minutes from my house and not worth the drive. If we were in that area, we might consider giving it another shot but based on this first experience, I'm not in a huge rush to go back. read more

For being in the middle of no where (from my Portland perspective) this Thai restaurant was great! There was hardly anyone in the entire place. Staff was super friendly and their menu is vast. Our order: Spicy asparagus beef Chicken pineapple fried rice Pot stickers The pot stickers came out first...I don't really like them when they are fried so I only ate one. I suppose I should start asking this ahead of time. Chicken pineapple fried rice was super yummy. Huge chunks of pineapple and tasted great with some chili paste. Spicy asparagus beef was excellent. Not sure what the sauce was made out of but it was awesome. Cooked perfectly. Also ordered a Thai Iced Coffee that was delish and kept my mouth from being on fire :) All in all I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. So good! It's hard to stop when the food is so delicious. We tried Chicken Satay, Panang Curry, Golden Noodle, and Crying Tiger. All fantastic dishes. The "tiger" sauce is a must. I would like to see a little more engagement from the staff and owners. Get on social media. Market the specials. They have a marvelous product and a lot of space to work with. Yes. It's hard that Albertson's vacated this shopping center, but don't let it discourage you or distract you from promoting the top-quality Thai cooking. It's a bit of a minimalist setup and no fancy tables or chairs. There are some Thai artifacts and decor . There are actually more tables thank there need to be and some are too close to the curtains. There are some other basic restaurant setup and operation that could be more professional, but I still like the neighborhood feel. I am really pulling for the success of this place!! read more

This place was super disappointing. We went to lunch here on a Sunday with some family, my aunt and husband ordered 3 plates of sushi, my uncle had the curry noodles, and I had orange chicken. My orange chicken was decent, but the curry noodle dish was super unimpressive. It was a large ball of sticky noodles with curry sauce poured over the top. It looked like it had been microwaved. The 3 plates of sushi were very small for the price, and the waitress only brought out 2/3 of the plates that were ordered. When asked about it, the lady from the back said that they didn't know they ordered 3 and that they are no longer serving sushi for that day. (It was noon and they opened at 11) My uncle's beer glass had lipstick on it, and my aunt's Pepsi was $4! We had no idea, and the refill was another $4. We watched two separate groups stand at the cash register trying to pay for their food and the waitress took 10 minutes to come out from the back to help them. Hidden gem! Located in a largely empty shopping center off 137th and Padden Parkway, we popped in here for a super quick lunch. It was 12:00 and business was steady. Regardless the food was served quickly, hot, and with vegan accommodations. Sushi was fresh, served with artistic garnish and sauces. Luncheon portion of soup was very generous. Most delivery pad thai comes congealed and cold. This food came hot and not in one big stuck together pile. The pad thai had a nice balance of flavors and big portions. I told the waitress and she said it was spiced mild and offered to reduce the heat by adding tap water to the bowl. I declined because that would thin the flavor . I'm definitely no Thai food expert but this place was mildly disappointing. They where completely dead during dinner hour which should have been my first indication this place was less than perfect. The service was okay, the server was prompt and polite with our table although she seemed incredibly inconvenienced when asked for rice noodles on the side and the server never once refilled our drinks. Well, I love Thai food and was in the area of this restaurant. The ratings were good, so my wife and I were excited to find a new Thai restaurant. It's in an odd strip mall off the main road. A nice looking new place. Only two other tables were taken. Two young people were working the front. They were cordial but not very welcoming or happy to see new customers. No big deal, but it seemed like two adult children of the owner that really didn't want to be there, but they had to. We sat down and looked at the beer menu and ordered two Thai beers and was told, "sorry, we ran out, it will be in tomorrow, we were slammed this week and the distributor is having trouble getting it." OK, this happens, how about a Chinese beer? "We are out of that too." OK, Hefeweizen? "No, that was replaced by Blue Moon." OK, trap Blue Moon please. We ordered Spring Rolls, Tom Yum Soup with chicken, and Pad Prik Khing, a dish with pork and string beans. We asked to please bring the Spring Rolls and Soup first. The Spring Rolls came and they were great! The Soup broth was good and served in the authentic metal bowl which I don't see often anymore in the states. We took two bites and blam he comes the main dish. I said "we wanted this after we finished the Spring Rolls and Soup. He say" oh, the cook is moving fast." Oh well, I guess I will cover it with my plate so it stays warm. I like hot food. We finish the starters and start eating the now cooled off meal. My wife looks at me and say, oh my, it's really salty. I try it and salt is all I can taste. The dish was literally swimming in soy sauce. We are not complainers, we try to roll with life and give people a break. We all have bad days, bit when you both agree it's not edible, it's time to tell the waiter. Why young people don't understand this really drives me crazy. It's your hard earned money(unless Mommy or Daddy hands it to you). If it's bad food, you are doing the place a favor by telling them and you may get something to eat, which is why you walked in there to start with. The waiter came over. We explained it was way too salty. He said, "the cook was probably in a rush and added too much soy sauce." It was no problem to replace or change, or take it off the bulk. We were not wanting to go round two, so we asked to take it off, which he did. Normally, I would stop here. However, I would like to see this place improve as it has potential. Here are my suggestions; take them or leave them. 1. Keep up with your inventory. Have a backup case of popular beer or cover up items on the menu that are out of stock. 2. Don't make excuses about distributors and cooks. Just apologize and make a nice suggestion and throw in something small as a token of appreciation. Offer a free desert for the inconvenience. Many people wont take it, but it instill a good faith and helps people leave feeling that you actually care if they were happy and this makes people want to come back even when things don't go well. 3. Show some enthusiasm about being there. If it's a drag for you, it's a bigger drag for those who have to pay to be there. read more

Absolute best pad Thai I have ever had. Level three spice is on the edge for my husband who likes spicy but not too hot. I LOVE heat and will order the 4 next time. Beautifully presented and fresh. The chicken satay comes with a delicious cucumber sauce and is divine. Would highly recommend this place! I tried this restaurant since it is down the road from my house. I liked the size of the place but like many Asian - fare restaurants, there were only onesy/twosies seated for dinner. Our hostess was prompt at seating us and taking our orders. I ordered the 3 star chicken pad thai. The spice was pretty good. The issues were that the noodles were a bit tough and the sauce was not quite what I expected. Overall, it's an okay place. I will probably go back to try another menu item. read more

Ordered drunken noodles with beef.....barely any beef and all onions 3 spice and NO spice! Ordered Tom yum soup 0 spice and it's above 3 spice. Crab rangoons and burnt. Called Talay Thai to complain and they blamed it on Uber and to call them! This was $57 for food not to mention delivery fees. So disappointed and will never order from a restaurant that does not take responsibility for their mistakes. Uber did not make them burn their rangoons and send it to us. read more
