This place deserves the highest rating. The staff really do a great job. They have always treated me well. And let's be real, this is a plasma center, there are a lot of trashy/homeless/people with addictions the staff have to deal with constantly, that get angry over $50, so perhaps that needs to be considered it isn't the best working environment. I think these people are angles for what they do and how well they do it considering. It just short of a miracle. read more

This is hands Down the plasma center we have in Jacksonville. Everyone is so helpful to the cause. And the employees Lakya CJ Britian both of the Ms T are literally God sent and help with the process every-time. The refer a friend program is literally the best to help save as many lives as possible. And unless they are crazy slam busy which is rare they get you in and out around 30-45 min. I won't waste time going anywhere else. read more

A year or so ago I attempted to donate here, and I was not allowed to proceed in the process due to having a hyphenated last name on my social security card. I called customer service and quality control representatives to complain about how unfair this was, and I was told that I would get a call back. No one ever gave me a call back. I called repeatedly, and my calls were ignored. This policy that prevents people with hyphenated last names on their social security cards from donating is discriminatory, and no company should ever support or enforce policies that conflict with federal laws. This company policy discriminates against potential donors on the basis of family structure which infringes the Civil Rights Act of 1964. They could be sued for that. read more

I really don't get the bad reviews on here. I literally went in today as new donor and went through the process and it was fine. Minnie who works there is just the sweetest and best person there by far. Everyone was great but she went above and beyond. I was nervous and had no idea what I was doing and she was so cool and laid back with me. I hope I always get her when I come back. Her only downside is she's a Vols fan . Tried to get her to switch the Gators . Maybe next time. read more

I have not personally donated blood here, but a buddy of mine has and it was not pleasant for him. The storefront is dirty and it looks like it is giving out free money instead of trying to recruit blood donors. The place is packed every time I go by so they must be doing well. He was there at 8am. Finally at NOON he was told he couldn't donate due to having too many tattoos!!! Having already waited for nearly four hours and had his finger pricked an hour and half earlier, they knew how many tattoos he had when they asked him! They didn't tell him immediately due their "procedure" of telling individuals of their acceptance as a donor in the back due to privacy. I understand that this can be a sensitive subject, but I would rather you whisper something in my ear, take me in the back hallway or something, rather than letting me waste 1 1/2 hours of my time!!! read more

Very clean center with great up to date office appliances. All the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and kind.

i have never felt more unwelcome anywhere. then after the woman who was so rude to me about proof of papers to donate i asked for my paper i just filled out with my social security number on it so i could bring my actual she refused to give me any of my paper back. i've never in my life felt that this would of happened trying to do a good thing. I am more than furious about coming to this place for the first time. I'm a new donor and not ONE person made me feel welcomed or helped me. Everyone working there looked like they had no idea what to do. People all over the place without masks on. No help to let me know how much longer I have to sit there and wait. Crackheads walking around talking to themselves. Employees walking around and talking to each other. VERY VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The lady took my SS card and license and didn't give it back to me. After an HOUR wait without any new info, I finally had to walk out. This location needs to find new employees or just shut down. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS STAY FAR AWAY!!!! read more

The staff is great even with a busy office. They are focused on what they gotta do and do it. They deal with a LOT of different types of people & personalities. They most often stay way past 7pm which is closing. Third time here & will continue to come. read more

As a first time donor, I have to say this place was not trying to make anyone feel welcome. It was literally like a DMV for plasma, where no one helps you figure out where to sit or asks if youve been helped already. I mustve sat in that waiting room for 30 minutes before realizing (on my own!) That i was in the wrong section to begin with, and that apparently theres a sign in sheet (that im sure others who came in after me had already signed). Once i was situated, things werent so bad, until after speaking to one of the staff and I was told to.. ahem.. hold my "urge to urinate" for 10 minutes so they could do a drug test. I was already squirming, but i waited. And waited... until 40 minutes went by and I had to go up to the desk and wait 5 more minutes just for someone to see me. And then she says, matter of factly, "everyones on lunch". What?!? Didnt think to at least keep ONE doctor on staff and alternate? Or at the VERY least warn me before telling me itll only be 10 minutes? Finally, the procedure began, and the doctors in that are of the building were much more attentive and friendly, chatting with patients and checking up on us all periodically. But bring something to do if you go, because they dont even offer courtesy magazines or ANYTHING while youre hooked up for an hour or longer. All in all, they did their job, but Id recommend that first timers go elsewhere, unless youve always wanted to be invisible ;p read more

This company has a hard time keeping employees, not sure if is pay or management. The management team/company has a high tendency to make changes without any notice to donors. I went last night and did they say they were having issues the payment company...absolutely not. It has been almost 12 hrs since my donors and still have not been paid. They inconvenience fee is a mere $5. read more

This place is horrible. I don't know why I keep giving them a try. The whole process is ridiculous. They act like people can spend all day donating. I can get here early and still takes 3 to 4 hrs. There's is no excuse for laying there waiting an hour to get stuck. They need to work on their system cuz it sucks.. only been back 2 weeks and ready to switch locations again. Their location to my house is convenient but that's about it.. there is nothing else convenient about this place. read more

I have donated to a few plasma places in Jacksonville this one is by far the best for several reasons. 1. They don't give you money based on how much you weigh. At other plasma places you only get 10 to15 dollars if you do not weigh much. Basically you have to be fat to get the 25/35 first and second payments for the week. This place gives you 25/35 first and second visit if you are 120 pounds or 280 pounds 2. You can set up appointments at most of the other places you can't so you can get in and out a little faster. However there are backups and you still have to wait, but it is not as bad as the other places. 3. The neighborhood where it is located is low in crime and not so dangerous. Some of the other plasma places are in the ghetto. I was afraid to park my car or leave my bike locked up outside people did mess with them at other places. Oh and there are bike racks at this place some others do not have that and if you need to donate plasma there is a good chance you can't afford a car. 4. They have prizes you can win every month they are small and not much chance of winning but it's an extra bonus. 5. The staff is for the most part nice and easy to deal with. If you have donated plasma anywhere you will find there are mean people at every one of them it's just part of donating plasma. There are some buttheads here too but I have not had as many problems as with some of the others. I remember once at Octifarma I donated at the end of the day they closed the doors when I was done and I had forgot my tools and some other stuff inside. The employee said there was nothing in there and did not let me back in I stayed a while I say my stuff they just kept it so lame. read more

I am a long-term donor with Talecris. I was pretty unhappy when they switched to paying with debit cards over paying with cash. They are sometimes disorganized. The wait is unpredictable. Sometimes when they don't appear busy, the wait is longer than when they do appear busy because the employees are standing around talking. Not all of the phlebotomists are very good so you'll probably have a favorite if your veins aren't really good. As another reviewer mentioned, remember to take something to do while you wait. If you're a first time donor, you'll need an ID, SS card, and proof of address (like a letter sent to you). read more

I haven't donated here becuase every time I go in there and wait for hours on end, it never fails that they defer me for some different reason claiming its their "procedure." Mind you, I've been able to donate every where else. The staff is rude and unprofessional, all except for the nice young lady that works at the new donor desk. She is very polite and tries to make it as smooth as possible, but everyone else in that place should not have a job. They play around and give bullshit reasons as to why someone cannot donate. No one can explain anything correctly and they really couldn't care less about anything besides the end of the day. I would donate elsewhere. read more

They do NOT welcome you at the door. They hardly even acknowledge your presence when you walk up to the front desk. The first day took about 6 or 7 hours; mostly in the waiting area. There are two different areas for donors; the new donor area, and the returning donor area. On my second time visiting the plasma center, I accidentally signed in at the new donor area. BUT there is a section of the sign-in sheet that asks if this is your first time donating. I wrote, "No". I waited 1 hour before I got up and asked why it was taking so long. They told me not to worry about it, but other people that had just walked in got to skip me. Apparently, I was supposed to sign in on the other side of the center. It is important that you sign in on the correct side of the building unless you want to wait until the cows come home. Also, they call my phone sometimes to ask if I want to get a larger amount of money for that same day. But they tell you to drink a lot of water the night before. So, how am I supposed to drink enough water the day before they call me? NOTHING about this place makes any sense. But I still like the money, so I go anyways. read more

Ok. Where to start? The first time I went to donate(location on Mayport road) It took almost 5 hours for them to get me through the physical/screening process. whatever, I was a new donor so waiting is expected. however the next few times I went the waiting continued. everytime i go to donate i am in there for 2 hours or more. the staff is very unprofessional. they are too busy talking and deciding what to eat for lunch to do their jobs correctly. dont get me wrong there are a few staff members who do their job, but most of them are rude, slow, and just plain lazy.the only reason i go there still is because its close to my house and i need gas money. but i hate my experience EVERYTIME. read more

So I've been going to TPR in Mayport a while now, and things have just gotten worse and worse over the last two months or so. It used to be 45 minutes, an hour tops waiting up front to get your name called off the list, even during rush hour when every seat was taken. At this point it's become an hour and a half as the standard wait, sometimes longer. Plus another 30 minutes sitting on the couch in the back waiting to get hooked up. I was willing to sit through and endure it silently until today. I came in, put my name on the list and got ready to wait. The waiting room was only a third full at best and not very many people coming in, so I thought I got lucky, maybe it'd be a 45 minute wait like it used to be. An hour and a half later I'm fairly sure I've been skipped. So I go up to the desk and ask if I'm in line to be called. The manager happens to be there, checks the stack of files, and tells me I'm up after three more names. 10 names and 20 minutes later I'm fed up. I go back up there, explain to one of the screeners that I was supposed to have been 4th in line many names ago. She checks the pile of charts and lo and behold, I'm not even in it. At which point I am accused of having left the building. I don't think so. Another screener comes up, recognizes me, tells me she's got this and I sit back down hoping it'll all be over soon. It was over soon- if you consider 20 minutes soon despite that the doors were locked half an hour ago. So after 2 hours and 10 minutes I finally get screened. And that's on a slow day. That was today's experience, and really the tipping point of the time spent and frustration not being worth the pathetic $20 you get. Now don't think this was a fluke. Long waits are the norm, standard operating procedure. One of the other managers came out Sunday morning last week to pass out powerade because the crowd was starting to get restless. His explanation for the long waits was that in the plasma business, you don't know how many people will come in, so sometimes not enough workers are scheduled to come in. Pure manure. I've come in every day of the week but Tuesday in the last two months, and without exception I've had to wait one and a half to two hours just to get screened. Day of the week, time of day, level of traffic, all irrelevant: it's always slow. On a final note, in case you do decide to donate, check your account after each donation. There has been a conspicuous rise in the number of times they failed to give me my bonuses, and sometimes even not compensate me at all. I don't know if not paying us is an additional cost cutting move on their part, on top of understaffing, and they hope we don't notice, but check your account after donating. You have to call and let them know they cheated you asap or they might tell you it's too late, nothing can be done. read more
