This has really haunted me over the years so finally thought I would say something to prevent it from happening to anyone else .I used Talia as a groomer years ago. She did a nice job with the exception of a few nicks here and there, so I referred my friend John to her and he started taking his little rescue Pomeranian named Blossom to her. Blossom did well the first time and she did a good job with her, so John took Blossom back for the second time. Only to get a dreaded phone call that blossom had passed away. Talia said that she thought it was probably a heart attack, but Blossom was only a few years old and had just been on a dog walk before the grooming, running happily with the other dogs and showed no signs of illness or distress prior to the grooming. After examining blossom's body, we found a red ligature around her neck, so my guess is that Talia left Blossom unattended on the grooming table with the rope around her neck and Blossom fell off the table and hung herself. Needless to say, I never took my dogs back and have always wondered if I should have said anything . I don't mean to hurt Talia's business but still feel horrible for referring my friend to her. read more

We tried Talia out for the first time and AWFUL! First of all she did not listen to how we wanted our dog to be cut and instead shaved him down completely. Our dog is a golden doodle and we prefer him to be a little fluffy and now he looks ridiculous! Second of all she said our dogs snaps and is aggressive, my dog has gone to three other groomers and never has this been said. I have never seen him snap at anything EVER, human or dog. She then proceeded to say if we were to bring him back SHE WOULD NEED TO USE TRANQUILIZER TO CUT HIS HAIR! WTF I have never heard of this EVER!! Lastly she charged $200 for this service!! Terrible! Do not take your dog here, they might be getting tranquilized and then your paying $200 for a sh*tty hair cut! I will be reporting them to the Attorney General and whoever needs to be informed that this business may be doing this to dogs read more

On a road trip from the mid-west traveling through Santa Fe, we knew our Schnoodle would need a bath and brush out. I contacted Talia's to set up an appointment a week before our expected arrival in Santa Fe. She was able to give me an appointment on the day I needed. What a great experience! Beautifully decorated place, Talia is quite artistic and it shows in her grooming skills - she did a good job on my toy poodle. However, I won't be back: I was intimidated and actually hurt to tears (I hide them) - Talia has a brusque personality and is quite efficient - she did an excellent job. $85 + tax for a 7-pound poodle - No comment - it was a bit more than usual, but SF is an expensive area. HOWEVER, I wanted to leave when CC snapped at her (didn't bite) and the lady mentions 'liability' She grabbed my dog and started combing her ears and CC screeched and snapped. Despite her years of experience, Talia is definitely rougher than any other groomer we've used. She doesn't show any warmth toward the dog. CC is 3-1/2 and is normally groomed about every 3-4 weeks - so, more than 50 grooming by many different groomers. She started telling me how matted CC is - I was surprised because I had been combing her almost daily. Talia challenged me to show her that I could comb it but I admit I'm not an experienced groomer - my comb is different and I start with different equipment. I tried to show her how I do it in small sections, not dragging the comb from the roots right away, but gave up, because Talia kept stepping back and telling me 'show me', and how many years experience she had . She was probably right, but her people skills are a bit lacking. I know CC's hair tangles easily, but I'd never seen what I'd consider 'mats'. Hard balls of hair. I cut Talia some slack because I too can be a bit brusque and 'git 'er done' in my ways, but next to this lady, I'm a marshmallow . Then the lady mentions liability "I need my hands to work" if CC bites. I IMMEDIATELY wanted to leave- I don't know this person, and I don't want to get into a lawsuit and end up with her owning our home. I definitely should have left right then. I was trying to politely get out of there - assuring the lady I didn't want CC biting anyone - I was in tears. And I do NOT like to hear words like "liability" in this litigious society. But the lady changed and kept saying, we'll let's see how she does - I'll call you. I admit I was uneasy, VERY uneasy about that "L" word. But she called a couple hours later and said CC is ready. She said CC behaved beautifully after I left and she was evidently able to remove the mats from her ears after all. I'm still kinda hurt about the veiled threat, so I'm not bothering with a photo. Regardless of what the lady says, I know for a fact that no other groomer had anything but praise for her behavior, and I know she has never been reported to be a biter. that's all I can say. I also know the lady's ways intimidated and upset ME - never happened before. And I know a threat when I hear one. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not bring your pet here. First off when I called to schedule she was extremely rude and rushed me off the phone. The day of my dogs appointment she did not give me the opportunity to explain how I wanted my dogs cut and she grabbed my dog out of my hands. When it came time to pick my dog up I saw that she cut my dogs face. She is rude and over charges, there are plenty of good groomers in Santa Fe who actually care about your pet, Talia is not one of them. read more

Was referred by a friend to this place, I took my Yorkies over to Talia, 5 Yorkies mind you, and she did a wonderful job! All my fur babies look super duper adorable! I am definitely recommending this spot! read more

This was the first time I went to Talia's and my dog came back looking like his head was on another dog's body. I wanted hi to have a shave fore the summer. Talia did not blend his head to his body so he looks weird. But worse then that both of his hind leg elbows were cut badly and Talia never said a word when we picked him up. Talia charged me $160 (that's $182.12 with tax) to groom my 60 pound dog in a visit that lasted only one hour from the time I dropped him off to the time she called me to pick him up.d. The prior two times she charged me $100 and $110 respectively. When I questioned her about the price she said "it was a lot of work". I pointed out he was only there for one hour and she said "I didn't book a lot of people today." On top of that, when she called me to pick up my dog she told me I had to be there in 15 minutes because she had to leave. I have never posted a review before, but I feel this price was totally outrageous for services rendered. I considered going back in to talk with her, but given her initial reaction I saw that it was pointless. Obviously I'll never go there again. Let the buyer beware. read more

I just moved to Santa Fe a few weeks ago and had been searching for a good groomer for my 3yr old Shih Tzu / Toy poodle mix. I called Talia's with the hopes of finding a great place to take my little guy and BOY, WAS I WRONG! I called and was received by Talia herself. She was very rude and distracted while on the phone. (Keep in mind I am usually a very understanding and tolerant person) I asked when her next grooming session would be available and she (among what sounded like total chaos) says "I'm going to need to call you back" and hung up on me. I received a call back about an hour later and even though I was hesitant I decided to return the call. Talia answered and I asked again when her next available grooming session was. She responded "I'm not sure...." Followed by a long awkward pause that made me feel uncomfortable. I replied "I guess I can just check back another time?" Talia then said "well I don't know what you want to do with your dogs!" In a very rude and pointed tone. I graciously said I would look elsewhere and hung up. Needless to say TALIAS IS NOT A VERY WELCOMING PLACE FOR PEOPLE AND FURS ALIKE. read more

SO glad we discovered her! Our two dogs, Dachshund mixes, go in looking like unmade beds, and return to us beautifully groomed and shining! Shop is a bit noisy, so if your dog is sensitive to noise, take that into consideration, but all pets get TLC and are treated very well! Talia does her own work and is careful. She has done our dog Lillie, when she was post-surgical and handled her beautifully. She will do teeth, nails, anal sacs and all. As good as it gets! Gryphon and Lillie love her. read more
