We stopped at this taco stand across from the train station. We had the beef taco. It was huge and full to the brim. Totally recommend.

A melted/fried cheese skirt instead of a tortilla, topped with smokey salmon, green onions, cilantro, and a jalapeno sweet cream sauce. WE GOT TWO. These were great tacos. Take your pocketbook with cash in it, which is pretty much the norm for everything in Talkeetna. Cash is king here. We had the halibut taco and a salmon one as well. Both were great. They were not cheap, but nothing is in Alaska. This place is outside with some picnic tables. It is a food trailer. Don't let that stop you, however. The food is great!! read more

Cash Only Food is very delicious, made fresh for the order. The waiting time is reasonable - about 5 minutes for us. Taste wise it is on the sweet side with a hint of spicy. Love this little food truck. I took a star off because of the portion, which some other reviews also mentioned. read more

This is the best food I've had in Alaska! We've visited Anchorage and Denali, and nothing beats these tacos and quesadillas. The smoked salmon cheese crunch is really unique and delicious. The halibut quesadilla was packed with fish, and it definitely wasn't cheap tilapia. It was great to finally taste some good fish up here. I also recommend the asada taco, but I bet any type would be great. There was a man playing ukulele, and he was very talented and also cracked jokes with the people cooking the food. Rude rude staff. The lady at the counter really needs to work on her customer service skills. We were curious about the salmon crunch thing and wanted to try Salmon while in Alaska and had a question about it while putting in the order and to our surprise, the lady yelled with an uncalled for rude response which didn't help answer our question. Food arrived fast but the portion was small for the price. There are plenty of other food trucks in Talkeetna that will make you feel welcome, stay away from this one. read more

We rolled into town and we're starving and all restaurants were finished serving. To our surprise and great fortune, Talkeetna Tako was still open. We had the pork tacos and salmon quesadilla. Both were exceptionally tasty and a lot of food. If you're hungry- the quesadilla is the way to go. Very filling and a generous portion and delicious! The woman that took our order made our food and delivered it to our table which is unusual for a food "truck". She's great and if this is her place, we wish her all the best!! Halibut taco was ok, very small amount of fish and they added sugar to the salsa(?). Not worth 2 for $18.

The halibut was good. The special sauce had great flavor a little on the spicy side. The beef quesadilla was plentiful and seemed like eating a cheeseburger. The meat was pretty salty tasting. They have no take out boxes. read more

Absolutely amazing! Having lived in Mexico I know what a taco taste like & holy WOW! The tacos Al Pastor were so flavorful. We actually started w/ a smoked salmon cheese crunch, 2 out of 3 people in our group don't like salmon, but they loved this divine delight!! Every dish we ordered was a party of flavor in our mouths.
