The employee who greeted us was extremely friendly, but that was the best part of our visit. I was not impressed with this restaurant. We were staying at Great Wolf Lodge and needed a break from the food so we took the quick one minute drive to Talking Cedar. It wasn't particularly crowded but our server mentioned to us a few times that he would come around when he was able because he needed to take care of his other tables. Even when we needed to pay our bill he said he was too busy so we'd have to take it to the cashier ourselves. The food was not great. We ordered cheese curds first. After living in the Midwest, I've grown quite fond of cheese curds. The pieces that actually had cheese were pretty good. But half of the appetizer was just crunchy fried nothing. The Mac and cheese had clearly been under a heat lamp for a minute. One of my kiddos ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger. The burger was very small. I honestly think a Wendy's burger has more meat. The French fries were extremely salty. A lady next to us tried to tell our server but he just ignored her. The steak on my wife's salad was overly peppered. I sure hope people visit this brewery for the distillery and not the food or service. read more

We were seated in the outdoor patio. In the space of ten minutes three different members of the wait staff came into the area, yet not one acknowledged our presence. The final straw was when one of then took the order of someone seated after us. We will not be returning, and will advise our friends to avoid it as well. read more

We met friends for a pleasant lunch at Talking Cedar. I had their salmon salad which was delicious. Their portions are very generous. Our friend had fish and chips which also looked very good. The waitstaff was very attentive and pleasant. My only complaint would be the high prices, but that seems to be every where these days. They have a large outdoor seating area which would be very nice when the weather gets warmer. We will definitely come back. read more

This place was cool during the pandemic when all other places were closed, but it's time they change up their menu a little. When you order a burger or sandwich they present it on a piece of messy black chalkboard; hard to eat off of. Every time I've ordered the cheese and veggie platter it comes different; Your paying a lot of money for a couple of bell peppers and an entire bowl of hummus; not worth it. The staff are super nice, but someone needs to switch the menu around. BRING BACK THE FALAFEL!!! read more

Oh my gosh this place is awesome. Quick, great service and a wide variety of food and drink. Have been there a few times now, with and without kids, and both experiences were a pleasure. Their salads are HUGE, but my husband is a fan of trying a different sandwich every time. Hot tip: anything with pimento cheese goes great with their IPA. read more

I get that it's only been open a couple months....we had a table of 3 an waited quite awhile on our beers. Shared the Ploughman's plate and bacon cheeseburger with fries with my husband. Excellent smoked salmon, and burger. Could use more seasoning but the meat quality made up for that. House distilled gin was fantastic! Prices were comparable to what we pay in most restaurants, and the service was great. Reading reviews after our meal, we were shocked by the racist remarks we read on Trip Advisor in particular - hopefully, those will be removed. Restaurants in this region struggle overall, but not because they are tribal. Talking Cedar will be a regular spot on our coastal route from now on! read more

No beer . I specifically took Kai to this new brewery. They had 12 beers on tap. The one he was going for was their highest IBU of 80, however, they were out. He did it in a can, but the PacificNW style fell short on the hops. I drank the 'Fall Leaves' in winter! Gin, cranberry, Cinnamon, Lemon Juice. Tasted like a chilled mulled wine. It was good. The NW Ploughman's plate is a deluxe charcuterie plate-- very good. I do recommend it. Kai liked his Ceaser salad with salmon. The Salmon is a 10/10. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the spicy aioli for my fries. All was good. Great atmosphere. read more

They are very friendly and helpful and it's great that they have outdoor seating. I have eaten there 3 times and they have a good variety on the menu but I feel like the food is lacking. The burger was excellent but each time the fries are always cold. The Mac n cheese was blah. The steak was very dry with no flavor. The cheese curds were good. The service has been up and down depending on who is your server. I've had great and not so great. Three different times we had asked for an item to not be included, like no hot sauce on burger, or gravy on the side, no cheese, and each time those items were on our foodI will try again because I know it takes awhile to get the kinks ironed out. read more

This quickly became my kiddo and I'd favorite mini mom/son date spots! We always love the food we order (don't sleep on those fried pickles!). We were seated quickly, received our drinks and appetizer quickly as well. That's the only good thing. We waited over an hour and our food never arrived. Wow what an incredible place to eat! The atmosphere is fresh and new. The service was attentive without being annoying lol. Me and my wife had the home made pretzel for an appetizer that came with beer cheese, stone ground mustard and pimento cheese, yes I said pimento cheese and it was awesome! For our entrees I had a juicy Lucy hamburger with that incredible pimento cheese and the wife had a beautiful salad, beer cheese soup that will blow your mind. Big sign, big nice looking new building....I was looking forward to trying their food. Ended up being disappointed and probably won't go back. Ordered a burger and fries. Quantity was good....but 'nothing' for taste. The $15.00 hamburger was very bland. I think McDonald's has more flavor. The fries (although sprinkled with 'something') had very little taste also. The meal was served on a 'flat 8"x14" platter. When you pick up the burger, the juices drop onto the platter and splattered all over the table. 'Looking cool' fell totally flat (pun intended). My buddy is a 'beer lover' and he was NOT impressed with his beer. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Heritage is based out of Eugene which is the area I'm from. Seated quickly, and after waiting 15 minutes went and spoke with hostess. Then the table right next to us was attended to whom was seated close to 10 minutes after us. Also, waitress passed by us several times and barely smiled and certainly didn't acknowledge or help us. We were totally ignored. Spoke with manager and Although she was apologetic, she offered zero. Super disappointed. Staying at GWL, and left after being ignored. Ended up going to Marichi's Mexican Restaurant and we were seated quickly and had excellent service. My tip reflected that. I'll be posting a glowing review for them next. The establishment was clean and looked amazing but looks can be deceiving when it comes to the food. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich with a salad ($2 up charge)... it was nothing to write home for although it was edible. My companions ordered the salmon, tri-tip, and the pulled pork plates. The salmon was over cooked although the potatoes and green beans were ok. The tri-tip had some weird ketchup tasting sauce on it and the collard greens were cooked in some sort of vinegar/lemon something. The mashed potatoes were flavorless. Honestly, what a step up in the restaurants for the area! Big win for locals! This place is really big and clean. It is a great environment to enjoy drinks and good food with friends, for sure! I will start by prefacing that I understand Covid has really made some things hard to navigate as a restaurant and I give a lot of grace for that. What I also expect is a staff that seems to still care about its customers affected by rules that a restaurant doesn't have a good way of enforcing that makes sense. When we arrived to the restaurant after packing the kids as quickly as possible inside we were told a table wasn't ready and to wait outside. After imploring with the hostess that it is February and freezing cold, could we instead wait with our baby in the very outer edge of the very large, very empty lobby? She simply stated no, you're welcome to wait outside of the door in the cold or go back out to your car. Ok, I understand, but could you have at least cared? Why doesn't your site say to wait in our cars if that is your practice so I could have prepared the kids. No other restaurants I have been to have made us do this and they are much smaller and manage to social distance just fine. In tow is also our ASD son who does not understand why we went into the restaurant and now he must turn around and go wait in the car. Note: If you don't have a child with autism, you won't understand. Ok, we deal with the crying and screaming and calm him down outside. 3 minutes later after huffing the kids back across the parking lot in the cold A** wind we get the crying settled and them back into the vehicles only to immediately be called to come back into the restaurant. Awesome, let me now tell my son that after struggling to get in the car 30 seconds later we are going immediately the other direction while the baby (who has now been out on the cold a substantial amount of time) is screaming. This is so fun! We come inside to the totally empty lobby and are greeted by the same apathetic hostess who tells us to follow her, but oh, wait she has to go check to make sure our table is ready? What the world? Why did you call us back in here if the table isn't ready? At this point my ASD son is now extremely agitated and the baby is thawing from being a popsicle after being forced to be transported 3 times in the parking lot out in the cold which has now soured their moods and mine to enjoy ourselves. I was so excited to get out for once. Given Covid, I Myself, and I'm sure most everyone else, don't get to go anywhere very often. When we do we want to go to our local restaurants and support them. What we don't want is to be drug around and stressed to the absolute maximum. Our food turned out to be mediocre at best and the only saving grace of the evening was our waitress who was extremely kind and attentive. What blows my mind the most is that as we leave we have to check out at the register (in the lobby) where everyone and their mother pile in to check out?? So you let everyone pile in when they leave the restaurant? We were allowed to wait for each other to check out with plenty of other customers checking out, but we couldn't wait right there for 3 minutes when we came in to avoid confusing the Sh** out of a 4 year old boy and freezing a 9 month old baby? Covid sucks and everyone's ability to apply logic in a world with Covid sucks even more. I guess the answer is we all have to stay in our houses forever because if we leave we risk either getting sick or getting treated like crap because everyone has lost all common sense. read more

The food here is great. The fried pickles are wonderful. The service here is awful. I've been on the patio twice and had to go to the bar to get my water refilled. Our server just disappeared and when she finally showed up she told me they were in the middle of shift change and that caused her to be gone.
