DJ plays great music, the ambience is on point! Diverse crowd, fun decor, great menu, and spacious. The service is top notch as well, we were welcomed, sat comfortably on some leather couches with pillows. Pool table with a pac man in the corner, outdoor seating available as well. Specials available throughout the week.

When I looked up Caribbean Grill Restaurant it had great reviews but then I realized it had moved from its stand alone location to now inside of Whistle Stop Public House. When we first arrived it was super loud and a lot going on inside so we opted to eat outside. The waitress greeted us, gave us menus, and advised she is the only one working. Even though she was the only one working she provided us with phenomenal service. We ordered several different dishes as you can see with the photos attached to this review and each dish was hot, delicious, and flavorful. This was some of the best Cuban food I've had in a very long time. Looking at the outside of this establishment you would never think that they would cook such amazing food. There was some shady looking patrons inside I'm not going to lie, a lot of them were drunk/rowdy but they didn't bother us while we ate, so I can't be mad. Food five out of five stars but the ambiance more like a 2.

This hole in the wall bar is such a fascinating spot with a dive bar vibe with exceptional food. The bartenders are always sweet and friendly. Such a great spot for anyone looking for delicious food with a tasty beverage.

Second visit to this Dive bar. Friendly service. Limited menu but sometimes that's a good thing. I got the Monday special, burger and fries with a beer, $10. Fries were great, hot, not greasy, plenty of them. The burger was dismal, cooked to death, dry as a bone, and unseasoned. The bun was fresh. My partner's double burger was just like mine, tasteless. Won't be going back.

This was a fun random find thanks to Yelp! We were on a late night prowl for drinks and billiard. We showed up on a Friday night and had several drinks, got our billiard craving on, and they were doing karaoke. The chef was really nice and we decided to try some of his eats. I like that the kitchen can be seen in plain view. The series "Bar Rescue" has me scarred if a kitchen at a bar is behind closed doors. We ordered a double cheeseburger and Philly cheesesteak along with a bucket of beers, a few shots of jamo, and some mixed drinks. Great experience -- from friendly staff, great chef, and a lively sociable crowd. It's also a close-by spot from work and on my Happy Hour list to unwind on those Mondaze.

The only good thing here is the waitresses provide good service, and that's where it ends. We wondered why they have no menu online, and it's clear because they have no variety in their food. Seriously, there are about four items on the menu: burgers, nachos, tacos and wings. Aside from that, food is expensive and they had no drink specials. A basic burger with fries is $16. You could go literally a half mile away to the Irishmen and have $2 beers, better prices on everything and much greater selection. The worst part of it is they whack you with a 3% junk fee for using a debit card. Yes, not even a credit card, a debit card where they get charged nearly nothing to process it. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this overpriced dive bar that nickels and dimes you.

First time here with my boyfriend. We sat at the bar! Kaylee was our waitress! She was such a sweetheart, and I don't know how she was taking care of everyone! I asked her what to drink. She said she can make anything, so I asked does she make a better margarita or mai tai. She said people complain her mai tai is too strong HAHA so of course I chose that! I thought she was joking around but NO! Amazingly strong drink! I got medium wings. The bf got a bacon cheese burger. I enjoyed my wings. My bf said the burger was just ok. The meat was mushy? But the fries were good! I would definitely go back for the wings and drink!

Just not worth it. Of course on their Facebook page they show these amazing looking wings and then you get something ultra small.

The smallest wings ever! Used to be Surf Cafe and it's nicer inside than that place was but the food is horrible.

I have been to Tall Boy twice. The food is OK, but the fries and onion rings are very greasy and rubbery- as in Old Grease.

What happened to the Cuban food menu?

I’m sorry Bernadette, that chef left about 6 months ago, so we changed our menu to a more American, sports bar style one.

Is there any beer specials besides the buckets?

I'm not sure because when I went I had liquor drinks.

Are patrons allowed to smoke inside?

Hey Charles, not inside, but there’s a patio out front with tables and chairs where you can smoke.

This place was AMAZING! From the minute we were greeted and asked for our reservation's name to the ending of our experience; it was hands down so great! I had probably one of the best espresso martinis I have ever had. I'm not even joking when I say that. It was delicious. The apps were nothing less than perfect too that we shared for the table. The duck rolls were pretty spot on and that's saying a lot for not being a big fan of duck. We also shared the cauliflower. My main entree was the octopus. I'm glad I asked about spice, because they said it had a kick. So I asked for the sauce to be on the side. Our server, Riley, did it without hesitation for me. The environment was also really pretty for Indian fusion. There was an upside down painting of the Taj Mahal upside down that was sick!

We sat on the patio under an umbrella during dusk time, which was lovely. It wasn't too hot. Aspen was our server and she was extremely accomodating and kind. She provided her recommendations to us about the menu, which I really appreciated. We started with the mocktails "is there a doctor in the house?" And they were AMAZING! Super refreshing. It had pineapple skin, ginger, turmeric, carrot, and citrus. We ordered a bunch of items to share. For appetizers, we ordered the bang bang cauliflower, which had mushroom, paneer, mint and cilantro. This was SO yummy, but extremely spicy! My mouth was actually on fire. We also got the spicy tuna bomb which consistent of semolina puri, spicy soy, green goddess, and avocado. They were shaped like little circles that you could pop in your mouth in one bite. We got the Brussels Caesar which was AWESOME! I loved the shaved Brussels made into a salad. We also ordered the truffle naan with ricotta. This is a MUST! It was delicious. The truffle taste was so potent. And the ricotta paired so well with it. We ordered the ribeye cut medium from the meat menu along with the buttermilk miso. The meat was perfect. It was tender and yummy. We just weren't provided with a knife to cut it and had to ask for it. I gave 4 stars just because of the multiple flies that were surrounding us and our food at one point. We asked for a fly fan, but unfortunately they didn't have one available. Overall, wonderful experience though! Food was very tasty, service was great. I will most definitely return and sit inside on my next occasion!

Maybe it's quieter outside but those tables are right next to the street. We had to yell to hear each other. Our server Sebastian was so pushy and constantly upselling us. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.
