Love this little hidden jam close to the beach on Atlantic Avenue in Delray. The vibe is fun with darts and pool. Great service. Shout out to our bartender, Danielle. She was friendly and professional. We tried the Philly cheesesteak under her recommendation and it did not disappoint and most amazingly it was so hot and stayed hot until the very last bite. Day drinking at the beach eventually caught up with us, and we knew it was time to find some food, preferably within walking distance of our hotel. Luckily for us, The Hideaway was located right across the street. As tempting as another round sounded, we wisely decided to hit pause on the drinks and focus on dinner. We ordered the pork chop and grilled shrimp plates. While the freshly grilled shrimp with the buffalo seasoning were delicious, the pork chop really was the winner here. We go there every Friday night for Karaoke. One of the bartenders, Brittney, is PHENOMENAL. She handles herself with grace, always kind, always smiling, regardless of how busy she is. I sat at the bar waited for her and witnessed many people complimenting her service. I'm a customer service manager and always pay attention to how everyone is being treated. Including myself of course. So why not 5 stars? Karaoke starts at 9pm. But 8pm would be SO much better. Especially since most places start at 9pm. I had read a few good things about this place and decided to try it out when a relative was visiting. Very sparse crowd on a Thursday night. The best thing about the place is they have a parking lot as it's behind the avenue. Our chickin wings had barely any sauce on them and a tiny bit of blue cheese served with it. Enough for 4 wings, not 10. The special Thursday night is a double bacon cheeseburger for 22.95?? May girlfriend got that and it was wayyyy well done, not medium and the bacon was half burnt to a crisp. Also had a lame amount of skinny fries on the plate. Two of us ordered the Cajun Seafood Sampler which was tasty but I couldn't taste any Cajun spices in mine and my cousin's was swimming in butter. I told her to get an order of toast so she could soak up the excess. Mine also had 2 pieces of Shrimp and about 3-4 pieces of fish and scallops each. Not very much for 30 bucks. Went in for dinner on a wednesday, barmaid/waitress told us pick a table but not the one in the front because they would be doing trivia night & that's where the DJ stands. there were some people at the bar, a small group of women having a going away party and a couple of tables with diners. barmaid came over took out drink order, brought them promptly. the place started filling up. poor girl was overwhelmed. waited for her to come by to take our order, but never did. went to the bar to pay and leave, she apologized and said there's more servers coming in, please wait. she pointed out that 1 server just showed up, but that server just punched in on the computer, grabbed a soda & a red bull and walked away from the bar. i said that the server that just showed up is in NO hurry to help out. again barmaid apologized, i paid & left. you'd think that if the managers KNOW that wednesdays get busy because of trivia night, they'd schedule more servers. place is a joke.......there are SO many restaurants on this road to choose from, this place is one to AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! read more

Love this little local place. It is a little hidden away but so worth the find. It's our go to place for our monthly girls night out. The bar tender Kiersten is amazing! Don't know how she does it but she remembers what we usually order for drinks and brings them over just as we get to our table. The food is also great. 2 1/2 stars. I am all for hole in the walls and this bar, even though it's located right off Atlantic, is a hole in the wall. The floor is concrete making the sound amplified. Although Delray Hideaway is street level it is dark and dreary, reminding me of a basement. There are several televisions, but the large ones were very dark. It was NFL playoff time and the place was busy. Service was a little slow but at least our server acknowledged that and was apologetic. I thought the menu was a little limited. These days sports bars usually have more to offer than typical bar food. We ordered some starters: bMozzarella Sticks, Flat Bread, Barbecue Wings. The only starter I tried was the wings and I was not very impressed. The wings were a little dry and the sauce tasted like I could have bought it at Publix. Everyone except me liked what they ordered. Husband and 15 year old loved their Philly Cheesesteaks. My son said it was one of the best cheesesteaks he has ever had (and we have been to Philly). Our friend liked his French Dip. The sandwich was piled high with roast beef but needed salt. I had the same issue with my Philly Burger. The burger had no seasoning and had zero flavor. I did enjoy the mixed veggies that came with the Philly Burger. The cucumber salad was light and refreshing and the fries were excellent (small, thin, and crunchy). And just like that.... we've become regulars. Same two servers each time. Big enough for a group of 15, small enough not too run into 20somethings. A pool table, darts and Bingo night. A good mix to create a night of mayhem and laughs. When they call the number 69, the bar gets free Greentea shots! When it does get busy, I often have to go up to the bar and ask for what I need. I used to pass this place for years when it was known as Pepe's Hideaway, I believe. The bar switched ownership, and now is called Delray Hideway. Being that we had just came from happy hour across the street, and wanted more to drink, we decided to stop by this hidden-alley dive bar. Like most dive bars, DH has its local charm; a place where actual locals will go, away from the glitz and glam of the main Delray drag and beach traffic on A1A. I felt the "Cheers" vibe when I walked through the battered, paint-wearing-off, double-door entrance.The serpentine-like bar counter, darkened lounge area, and Golden-T arcade game is certainly a rarity in a town getting more posh by the second. It's due to the latter point that makes it almost a breath a fresh air. I say "almost" because my drinks could have been better... Granted, this isn't a place to get an old fashioned, let alone a good craft beer. You go here to get a Coors, a G&T, Cran and Vodka, possibly a kamakze shot, that sort of thing. Granted, I haven't had the food yet, which I heard is good, so I would probably need to reassess my rating later. There are 14 seats at the bar, which is curved and beautiful. The liquor bottles are on glass shelves, in front of a mirror- with rope lighting. It reflects color and light to brighten the room.
