I used to love this restaurant, now I just like it. The food was pretty good, the service was solid, and most importantly, they served the most delicious potatoes I've ever had. Unfortunately, someone in management apparently looked at a perfectly good menu item that customers actually enjoyed and thought, "You know what? Let's get rid of that." The potatoes were the reason I came back. Crispy, flavorful, and somehow capable of making any meal better. Now they're gone, replaced by disappointment and confusion. I asked if they would be coming back and was told to write a review. For now, it seems these potatoes have been permanently exiled for reasons known only to the menu gods. The rest of the meal was fine, but it's hard to enjoy anything when you're mourning the loss of what was clearly the star of the show. Removing your best side dish is a bold strategy. Let's see if it pays off. Until the potatoes return, I'll likely be spending my dining budget at establishments that haven't declared war on happiness. read more

This is a large, vibrant restaurant with lots of wine selections, as you'd expect from a place called Sixty Vines. The food and drinks were good but the service, although attentive, was on the slow side on a busy Saturday night. Pappardelle 5/5 - very tasty al dente pappardelle pasta with a pork shoulder ragú. Steak frites 4/5 - good flavor with a chimichurri sauce but the steak was cooked a little over the requested temperature. Charred broccolini 3/5 - this was just ok. We stopped in a few days ago for dinner. Our expectations were pretty high considering how great our last meal was. We were seated promptly and the staff was very friendly. Also loved the atmosphere once again, it's just a very nice, open place to enjoy a meal and have a drink. We got a bunch of appetizers to start. The house made Ricotta with cracked pepper and olive oil was very delicious. I also loved the crispy zucchini slices, which were topped with peppadew peppers and a chili vinaigrette. Outstanding stuff. The seared ahi tuna was next level. The fish was fresh and beautifully seated and the mix of cucumber, aji amarillo, pineapple, cilantro and wasabi cream was sensational. One of the best dishes they make at Sixty Vines. The absolute best of the bunch was the truffle fries! They were amazing. They are basically crispy layered potatoes, almost like stacks of filo dough, fried and topped with pecorino, chives and lemon truffle cream. They were so good we ordered a second one! Considering how wonderful everything was to this point, we were expecting nothing but great things for the next course. However they completely dropped the ball and basically ruined our meal with lackluster entrees. Our party ordered the steak fries with chimichurri sauce, the double cabrenet burger, and several filet mignons. The amount of time it took to get the food was unreasonable. Once the appetizers were finished we had to wait somewhere around 20 to 25 minutes to get our mains, and the place was not that busy. I assume that the waitress just forgot or was busy with something else. As for the food, the quality of the steaks was not good all around. Everybody who got the filet mignon commented that the texture was chalky and weird. They were also all overcooked. And oddly, they decided to slice the steak before serving it, so it was very dry. Why would you pre slice a steak, all that's going to do is let the juices seep out and make the temperature drop. I honestly don't get it. The steak that came with the steak fries, I think it was a skirt steak, was also not the best cut. It was super fatty and a little chewy. The fries were good though but the meat was terrible. Finally the burger was completely overdone despite the person ordering it medium rare. Overall, not the best ending to a meal that started with such amazing dishes. Really striking contrast. And actually it made me think that I probably will not go back to Sixty Vines anytime soon. For a $350 meal they have to be doing a lot better. After many visits here, first time sitting at the bar. I always admired the large, beautiful bar and finally decided to check it out. The bar is long, with one side open to the restaurant's interior and the other to the outdoors. Our first time eating here was a recent Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is very inviting, and we were seated in a comfortable spot being served by KC. Although it has a beautiful menu of wines and spirits, we stuck to their filtered water, and asked KC for any recommendations for lunch. He was very engaging, a wonderful communicator, and we made our selections which started with the bacon wrapped dates (YUM). Prior to my order, I mentioned a dietary restriction and KC promptly went to the kitchen to make an inquiry. I ordered the trout with lentil ragout, and my husband ordered a margarita pizza. I've been here several times now, so this is not a one-off--and unfortunately, it continues to disappoint. I was there with a large group and while the space is pretty, the experience was frustrating. My salad with chicken and olives was just okay--nothing special. Several people in our group didn't receive their meals until the very end, and only after someone finally complained to the manager. I ordered coffee and was served an Americano without being told the coffee machine was broken. I kept wondering why it tasted watered down. When I asked for a refill, that's when I found out--and the refill never even came. When I asked for that charge to be removed, it was done reluctantly. Honestly this place has gone down hill in service and in quality of food since opening. I used to love this place for group dinners but now the drinks aren't even made correctly - the bar tender told me he didn't have the ingredients to make the drink correctly so he modified it and it also didn't have frozen grapes but rather normal ones covered in sugar and for $20 a drink I would've expected better. My food was alright but way too oily and was overcooked. I would recommend other restaurants in the plaza over this one - also the menu has decreased in size over time as well! read more

And on a pleasant Friday evening, all the doors and windows were open and there was a comfortable open feeling. It was a Friday and we anticipated it being busy but it wasn't so busy and we got seated right away. My companions all ordered wine and a few drinks and the wait staff are knowledgeable about the items in the menu - and for the friend who couldn't decide which wine to choose, they have a sample option. The server was pleasant and helpful in making a few decisions about food too. We got a meat and cheese board for the table. And while I didn't eat the meats, I can say the cheeses were good and they honeycomb, nuts, and pita they serve it with are a nice complement. Most of the table ordered meat-based dishes and they said they liked them. The pizza looked really good, and you can see the wood oven in the kitchen. The rainbow trout looked great, and I was a little sorry I didn't order it. But I was quite happy with the rigatoni I did get; the eggplant and sauce were nice with the slightly peppery tomato sauce. With locations starting to pop up all over, I have been meaning to try Sixty Vines and last minute on a weekday my sister and I stopped by. They were packed and we were still seated without a reservation. For the wine connoisseurs....their selection is out of this world! Their wine flights are enough to visit but their staff is what will keep you coming back. The food I can rave about all day. Possibly the best brussels I ever had. The Cali chicken chop was chefs kiss. Their hummus which was so unique and delicious featuring two kinds, edamame and red beet. My sister is a late night espresso lover- we discovered our new favorite coffee beans from a local distributor called Calusa coffee as a result! I also appreciated how my dairy allergy was prioritized as if it was their own. The ambience is a vast open space. A gorgeous outdoor vibe option too. This location is a spectacular spot for large celebrations. Not to mention exceptional interior design with their amazing furnishing and decor! I am shocked I've never been to Sixty Vines before but it was classy and incredible! I love the plaza it's in as it's easy to park and has a ton of restaurants and things within walking distance. We made reservations and were seated right away when we arrived. We had an indoor seat and I was surprised by how spacious the restaurant is. There are so many tables and it was packed the night we went. We started off with the hummus appetizer that comes with two freshly made hummus flavors a green hummus and a red hummus. The bread it comes with is so soft and melt in your mouth. For a main course I decided on the bavette wood grilled steak and got it done medium. It came out a more of a medium well which is fine but it was absolutely delicious! It came with a brown gravy already poured on it, and the steak was cut in slices already. It also came with smashed potatoes that were crispy and complemented the dish super well. Sixty vines has so many wine options and I decided that for a steak I had to order a red wine. For that I ordered the Malbec which came out to match the flavors of the steak perfectly. One caveat is they do not serve beer on tap which is unfortunate. I am so glad I asked because I wanted one but I asked beforehand and they said it's can only. You would be surprised that such a fancy restaurant serves beer out of a can. That's a huge knock for this spot!! Overall, I would definitely come back again at some point soon. Wow yum! We had a friends rehearsal dinner here and the food was delicious! The starters were Caesar salad, Albondigas (meatballs) & margherita pizza.
