Wellll, let me tell you. I thought I registered for the event at the Ferndale location, and had been looking forward to visiting this bakery... So, I didn't register, but of course I made a purchase well, purchases. I bought 1 oatmeal raisin cookie, 1 chocolate cupcake, 2 Blake's donuts annnnd 1 scoop of butter pecan ice cream in a waffle cone. It was very nice when I walked in, the space was clean, the deliciousness was beautifully displayed. It was good to see so many of Blake's Apple Orchard items for sale here. It was kind of quiet, well after the family (father? and 2 children left) nice place to sit and enjoy your goodies, scroll, etc. When I came on Yelp to write my review, I noticed there's one in Grosse Pointe, MI. Glad to know there's one closer that I can return to visit. Ohh, I almost forgot, the ice cream was Really good, I didn't taste like a diet fail at all. The Blake's donut, well you know... aren't they all good? The cupcake was light and the icing was perfect. They won my whole heart with the PUPCAKES!!!! Any time I can bring a treat home for my Rottweiler puppy, I will!!! We purchased a mix of items to sample two different types of cheesecake, some ini cupcakes cookies and of course the pup cake. My fur baby devoured it. The staff was super friendly when I walked in- everything was as clean as it could be for there being 5 inches of snow outside. I just now realized when looking up Bakehouse 46 that it is affiliated with Blake's! I had noticed that they offer Blake's products in store, but I hadn't put that together until now. The sandwiches are good- I wasn't sure about cream cheese on a vegetable breakfast bagel sandwich, but you know what? It was good! And the orchard grilled cheese is also delightful. The shop is very chic and the cupcakes / baked goods are beautiful to look at, and delicious as well. Hard to walk by and pass up at least getting a mini cupcake! Finally, the chai latte is quite good, which I was pleasantly surprised by since this isn't a coffee/tea shop per se. Would go back just for that! read more

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is ample seating with air conditioning. There is paid street parking and a parking garage behind the building. Was doing some shopping in Ferndale and decided to pop in and give this place a try with my daughter and was happy that I did. The place was very nice. It was clean with subtle decor and has lots of space. It was not too busy and we got served quickly. The barista was friendly and polite. We got our drinks pretty quick. I just had a green tea and my daughter had a slushy cider that she really enjoyed. There were also a lot of baked goods to choose from too. From your traditional doughnuts to delicious looking cupcakes. They did have a vegan option for some of the cupcakes too which is nice for my plant based friends out there. Another nice thing was that we stayed for a bit just talking and never felt pressured to leave. I will definitely be considering popping back in here the next time I'm in Ferndale. read more

I was happy to see it was Blake's cider when I entered! I haven't lived in Michigan for 5 years and planned on taking a visit to Blake's but that was a happy treat! I got the breakie sandwich with eggs, bacon, cheddar and cream cheese on an everything bagel and it was really good but a little pricey. I think the bagel was made in house and the bacon was crispy. We usually come here to get the mini cupcakes and sample all the different flavors before deciding exactly which cupcake we'd like. They have so many flavors that are ever changing with the season and let me tell you they always have something that will suffice. Upon entering, you will see the facility is very clean and the decor on the inside is very relaxing. The service is normal of what you would find, but I really do like the packaging of the cupcakes. If you get six they come in a designated tray. However, if you only get one or two, they flip a plastic container upside down to make it easier for transport That also helps for the removal when you are ready to dine in.
