We both took a bite of each pizza, and immediately disliked the cornmeal crust. It tasted to me like it was made from Jiffy corn muffin mix, with a cardboard-like hardness. My wife disliked it so much she barely ate one small piece of pizza. I liked their cheese and sauce, and especially liked the sausage. I managed to eat two pieces thinking I'll give it a chance, but hated that crust so much I couldn't eat a third piece. There are plenty of other items on their menu other than pizza, which are the only things we will consider for any future visit. The dining room is large with a dark, traditional wood decor. Parking is free in their own lot. Having no table service, other than cleaning tables, logically results in a tip and cost savings. Now that I know this is how Barnaby's operates, I am not down-voting them based on service.

Husband had the prime rib sandwich and I had the half Rueben and clam chowder. The prime rib sandwich was cooked exactly to his liking, medium rare. The bread held up nicely against the juicy meat. The chowder was delicious!! Clearly made from scratch with a perfect amount of cracked black pepper. I have to admit that I am a bit of a Rueben snob but this place did not disappoint! Finally a cook who is not afraid of adding sauerkraut to a Rueben!! We will be back!

The food was surprisingly good and still warm by the time I got home. I particularly appreciated the fact that the restaurant was open until 11:30 pm which addressed my need for a late night meal. Phoned to inquire; "oh, they're right here." Makes one wonder why they didn't make it into the bag, then... Drove back. Obligatory apology; nothing offered to make it right. Finally, discovered that the missing (cold, but fully priced and paid for) wings -- with Desert Heat dry rub -- had obviously been prepared quickly and carelessly -- not even coated -- as though the "rub" had been just been sifted onto one side (which is precisely what I suspect happened). Used to come here with my kids all the time after sporting events and usually enjoyed it. Maybe I'm just getting older and my standards are getting higher (you know, wanting hot food with a correct order that's properly prepared...)...but the other reviews I'm reading suggest something more systemic may be amiss. Admittedly, this isn't Morton's or Alinea,, but I'd have hoped for an accurate order that was prepared with a modicum of care; and an offer to do something to make good on their pretty egregious error. Unbeknownst to us in the moment, her food was handed to a single patron there for his lunch. The place was filling up with a lunch rush but not so many that had complicated orders. Many were ordering similar lunch specials. Kung pao lunch special was popular. When her order finally arrived the supervisor realized she had given the wrong plate to the customer sitting some tables behind us. Mind you ten minutes had already passed. She quickly went over to him and asked what he had ordered. She then took the plate he was eating from and handed him the fresh plate. He was still holding a half eaten egg roll in his hand. Then she brought the quarter eaten plate and placed it in front of my mother. Before she could leave I stopped her and asked her what she was doing. She simply stated that was her lunch order. I told her she handed my mother someone else's food that they were eating and I watched the whole thing. Why didn't you take that to the back and make a completely new plate of food?! I paid the bill and got the F**k out. That's gross. Also, you gave the other patron new food but cannot do the same for our table?? This place is dead to me. If she could do that, it beckons the question of what else is happening behind the scenes.

We came in for a family dinner on a cold winter evening and were greeted with warmth that lasted throughout the meal. The service was on point and the food followed suit. Since there were six of us we each had something different - for me, the meatloaf. It really hit the spot and I practically licked the plate afterword! Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. The dining room itself has plenty of tables but they are not crammed into the space, giving a more open feel. Plus, it's nicely lit and not overly noisy. I'm glad we discovered Claim Company and I can see us returning in the future.

It's very nice and cozy in there and the people are always really nice including those who attend. It just seems like a down home restaurant/rustic place that I always enjoy coming to.
