Going to be honest Taloola's hasn't felt the same lately. I've been a patron since I was in highschool over a decade ago. I think the change in ownership has made it feel more "corporate"? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it has lost that charm. Still delicious coffee and food, but no longer the same chill atmosphere, definitely more "feed em and street em" (which I understand, but it's a change). I think I'd rather go to Camp Coffee or Anchor. read more

Taloola is a super cute, Parisian looking cafe. They have a relatively large menu for a cafe and I would say they definitely specialize in their drinks! The lattes are delicious and they had a vegan dill cream cheese that I knew I needed to try. They space itself is a little tight, but very cute to stop in to! read more

Great little cafe with fairly extensive food and drink menu, lots of character and charm. Quiet place to sip a latte, chat, read a book, do some work or just relax. I had the Taloola Nicoise $9 for a decent size but not huge salad very fresh and I really liked the tapenade in the dressing. Also a blueberry muffin fresh and tasty but a tad cold they should warm it up for customers. Two shot Americano came in a big mug and flavour was nice although not as intense as I would have liked. A bit smaller mug with two shots might have hit the mark for me but I like my coffee strong I'd go back for sure. read more

This cafe is still amazing, after opening up about 12 years ago in Walkerville, Taloola Cafe brings in the local crowds and has something for everyone to enjoy. They resource local fresh ingredients, and have gluten free, organic, vegetarian and vegan options available and are licensed by the L.L.B.O. I recently moved back to Windsor in October and haven't been since I moved back, this is my absolute favourite cafe in Windsor, but last night, my boyfriend and I went to hear some live music they have on Friday and Saturday nights. Last nights local band happened to be my cousin and his wife, the Litsters. So my boyfriend and I went to enjoy each others company, food, drinks and music. Taloola cafe has the best peanut butter cookies, they're vegan friendly and they taste like having a spoonful of peanut butter in your mouth. When we got there, I ordered the Mystic Mint Tea and my boyfriend got a Stout. The live music started playing in the cafe around 8:00pm and played for about an hour, it was acoustic, and the cafe was very busy, people trying to find seats to enjoy the music as they played. I enjoyed a chocolate chip cookie with my tea and my boyfriend enjoyed warmed cornbread with his stout. The ambiance is just so eclectic here, everyone is in a great mood and the staff here are friendly. Definitely my favourite place to go to in Windsor. read more

Nice casual spot for a meal, snack or coffee near Windsor's beautiful riverside. Small interior with limited seating. I stopped in for a snack after learning they have lots of vegan options, including always-vegan soups and stews. I grabbed a bowl of the soup ($6 plus tax), which was a lentil and date soup. Decent soup, nothing special and perhaps a little small / lacking in substance, but not bad at all. I'd return to check out their other items. read more

Fresh food, perky staff, fast service. The space is over the top but it works. The menu is long and full but there is some good stuff on there and personally, I'd rather have a couple too many choices than not enough. Lost stars for edamame on a salade Niçoise though. Granted, it was identified in the menu and I should have caught it, but yuck. That stuff just isn't good for you (read an article guys!) and it just doesn't go well in my opinion. It did look pretty, however. And I respect other people's creativity and personal taste. But eww :) I regret to say there were two occasions when I sat at or near an unclean table. On the first, another patron sat on a stain of some sort while I was talking to a friend and we noticed too late to say anything. The latest time, I sat on (what I hope was) a small puddle of lemon (the citrusy culprit was on the seat next to it). Clearly not every detail can be caught between guests but especially in an "anti-minimalist" atmosphere such as Taloola's an extra sweep might be well-advised. :) I look forward to eating more of their creations and trying a smoothie. Overpriced food and drinks, very poor service. The café it's self has a very cute aesthetic, but is very small and crowded and doesn't have wifi. If you're looking for a place to do any work, forget about it. I paid $7 for my latte and $5 for my muffin that took 15 minutes to come out to me. read more

I must admit, I've never had the best opinion about Windsor. My aunt moved there when I was a teen and I went and was bored to tears. Later trips would dump me square in the bar district, great for drinking, but not for much else. Luckily, my friend recently moved to the Walkerville area about a year and a half ago and my, oh my, I'm definitely going back to see her more frequently! Taloola Cafe was one of the place she insisted we had to go. A vegan/vegetarian friendly cafe with NO WIFI to prevent laptop hogs, fantastic atmosphere and a menu that will keep you coming back for more. On our particular visit, I downed a spicy coffee (coffee with chicory, pepper and some other spicy things) which was good, but a bit dense (but c'mon, I downed it anyway!) and a regular brew, both of which were fine, not mind-blowing, but totally decent. For the brunch-time meal, I ordered the weekend special - stuffed cheesy french toast (a brunch place just isn't brunch without a well-done french toast) stuffed with old cheddar, fig puree and pecans. Holy god. It wasn't the best french toast I've ever had, but it was DEFINITELY the best combination on a french toast ever. I must, must, must replicate this at home some time! Glancing around at other people's tables also gave me a great perspective on the other food options, the salads and sandwiches were plentiful, the soups were GIGANTIC, and you can even get plates to share with fruits/nuts, crackers, dip, vegetables, etc. If you're in Windsor at all, this is a must-place to visit. My only complaint was that the service was on the slow side, considering the place was only half-full. But the servers were friendly and the place is comfy so if you have good company, you may not even notice :) read more

As someone who's grown up in Windsor, and knows a lot of it's hidden gems, I would greatly recommend Taloola. The European-esc (if that's a word?) atmosphere itself is worth going for! The food is fresh, delicious, fairly priced, and mostly vegetarian and vegan friendly. The staff is always phenomenal. Fridays and Saturdays you may be lucky enough to hear some of Windsor's finest musicians, and occasionally someone out of town - always a treat! Although there is currently no wifi, I don't think this is necessarily a con. Instead of bringing a laptop, why not bring your sketch book or journal? Maybe a friend to talk with! This place just kills it in terms of ambiance, it's really cool. The pastries here are always good and the food I've tried on the menu is quite tasty. The coffee is probably as good as you're going to get in Windsor. (If it was in Toronto or another city with a developed coffee culture the competition would probably bump it down to three stars if it didn't step up its game.) I normally try to meet up with friends for a coffee here or for lunch when I'm in town. My partner and I discovered this neat little gem not long after moving into Olde Walkerville. It's an eclectic collection of wood grains, fabrics and interesting decorative pieces located in the corner of an old brick building. Food and beverages are ordered from friendly staff at the counter and you often have to wait in line for some time as it's a busy little establishment. I haven't yet had a dish I didn't like, but I need to rave about their list of grilled cheese toasties. Served on freshly baked whole wheat bread and using aged cheddar, these grilled sandwiches are amazing. I love the cheddar, date syrup and chopped pecan, as well as the cheddar and spicy mango chutney. Yum! The website (www.taloolacafe.com) has a complete listing of its menu options. Check it out. I absolutely love this Cafe! It's my secret little get away. (Perhaps not so much after posting this....) The venue is great for going to study, read or write a book, grab a cup of coffee / tea and enjoy a good conversation, or to take some alone time for reflecting on life. I appreciate that they are a smaller establishment - yet cater to so many diet restrictions. The stews / soups are always home made, often featuring unique ingredients. The gluten free / vegan desserts are a delightful treat. My favorite thing to order is the Taloola Nicoise Salad, perfect for a small meal. For a nice treat, try the frozen munk. Taloola is a rare breath of fresh air in Windsor. There's really no other place like it in the city (or quite possibly the world). The greatest thing about Taloola would have to be the staff, who are always warm and friendly. The second greatest thing would have to be their vegan chocolate chip cookies. Everything else about the cafe is tied for third. Taloola is like a second home. And for those of you who want a good place to study, Taloola is probably it (however, it does not have wifi). The soup was very good but I could definitely make the sandwich myself for much cheaper. It is quite expensive for the portion but you go for the atmosphere. Cozy and eccentric interior, helpful/kind/attractive staff, the option to order a cappuccino +/or alcohol, plenty of healthy vegan & gluten free options (including a dessert case), delicious & fresh food in general. Fair trade coffee. It's just perfect...in that well-loved-and-lived-in kinda way. Though I second another reviewer in that the tables could be wiped down better/ more frequently. Absolutely loved the service and treats. This was my first time actually sitting inside and enjoying the surroundings. The atmosphere here is so relaxing. I had the organic Peach tea with sugar and a peanut butter cookie which I wouldn't suggest having without a glass or milk or hot chocolate as even the tiniest bite is like having a whole tablespoon of PB. I first visited Taloola one year ago; I still remember the taste of the tofu wrap that I ordered. It was ridiculously good. One year to the day, I visited Windsor again and wanted to go back to Taloola. We were in a rush, so I randomly selected the 'Nice Rice' bowl. I wasn't sure what to expect, but when it came- holy crap! What a wonderful choice I had made. It was so delicious. If the service and good quality has stayed that consistent in a matter of one year, they are doing something fantastically right! If Windsor can be said to be part of Metro Detroit, then Taloola is one of the best cafes in Metro Detroit. The selection of tea is just crazy vast, so vast that there is a book-sized tea menu. I enjoyed my rose-whatever tea. The ambiance is super cozy and warm, and it is nice being immersed amongst all of the Windsorites, conversing in that peculiar language of theirs. There is live music on Fridays, I believe. There's quite a big selection of baked goods too. Prices were reasonable, and there is a ton of space available for parking on the street. read more

I'm a friendly down to earth kind of person. The cashier here was extremely rude to me for no reason. I thanked her twice and she turned the other way and ignored me completely. The only reason i can think of is that i am from a middle eastern background. When i came back later and asked her about why she is ignoring me thanking her for such a terrible service she said in a very rude way " I don't know what you are talking about" i know people like this and hypocrites they promote peace, veganisem, yoga and meditation yet they are truly lost and have no connection to humanity what so ever.
