It's a shame it took me this long to visit Tam Tam, the place is worth all the hype. I want to thank Val for making our dining experience so pleasant and for her amazing recommendations. We loved all the food, but were particularly surprised by the flavor of the tartare, scallop crudo, and the chicken wings. The lotus salad provided a perfect balance for the sweet and tangy wings, and the tartare was probably one of the best we have had. All the flavors were there, a party in your mouth, literally. Our only regret is that we didn't go soon enough to try the tamarind ribs (they are no longer part of the menu). The portions are shareable, and the tapas style truly adds to the experience. The ambiance was great too. Hole in the wall, nice conversation vibe. We would recommend for a date with an adventurous loved one or a friends' night out.
WOW! Came in for Miami spice and it did not disappoint!!! The food was bursting with flavor and every dish was better then the last. Portions a bit smaller then the regular menu but you will definitely leave full! Everything we ordered was fantastic. Coconut pandan soft serve was AMAZING. A must order. Service was fantastic they were on it. Karaoke bathroom is the second bathroom only not the first! Street parking around the restaurant. Make reservations!!! If you walk in you will have to sit outside which isnt the nicest environment as its downtown miami.
What a fun experience! Make sure to check out both bathrooms. Here are my favs in order. Their Chrysanthemum dessert wine was incredible 1. Scallops. It was other worldly experience, especially if you love basil.. 2. Chicken wings 3. Lettuce wraps. Good but a little too greasy for me 4. Prawns. Tam Tam deserves all of the hype and then some. Every single bite we had was spectacular. The star of the show was definitely the wings! Wow, honestly, hands down the best wings I've ever had. The lime and sticky sauce were insane and unique, 10/10. The shimeji mushrooms were delightfully light, earthy, and herbaceous. The lotus root salad had an acidic sauce a slight spice from chili peppers, and was full of crunch. Finally, the Banana milk tres leches - the sweetness is subtle from the banana milk and coconut flakes, and the crunch from the cookie topping was a nice complement to the soft cake. My only complaint about the dessert was that it was tiny, but I'm also a dessert gal down boots. Lol Highly recommend leaning into the buzz and making a res.
Every dish is so flavorful & unique. The portions are large & very shareable. The frog legs are surprisingly tender and delicious. The main dishes are amazing, especially the goat curry.
For Miami Spice each year, I typically aim to pick a restaurant that I've both never tried before and that's Michelin-rated. Tam Tam satisfied both, and I now understand what all the fuss is about. Every dish my friend and I ordered was so flavorful, and the presentation was just as impeccable. My only hesitation in picking this spot initially was thinking it wouldn't be enough food, but boy was I wrong. We started with the scallops and steak tartare, which were both a slam dunk. I'm not a scallops person and I loved this dish! The coconut sauce it comes in gets an A++. The oysters were the one item we ordered off of the regular menu, and I'm glad we did. They were so different from any other type of oysters I'd tried before, which I think can be attributed to the salted duck egg hollandaise. The wings were so crispy and practically melt in your mouth. The branzino was very nicely done, but I was particularly obsessed with the goat curry. I had never tried goat before and was so glad my friend picked it. The curry sauce and noodles all came together to deliver a perfect dish. The desserts were also all stars. I'm not a cheesecake person but I definitely enjoyed their take on it--so different in a good way and not overly heavy. I'd never had black sesame ice cream before, and my taste buds were very happy campers. The service was also great - just be prepared to potentially sit at the bar, even if you have reservations. It's a hole in the wall spot and very popular. We went on a Sunday at 5:30 p.m., and it was packed. Diner vibes all the way. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with Tam Tam, is the area - Downtown Miami still looks like bombs were dropped on it as it continues to undergo a slow revitalization. Just know you're going for the restaurant and not the area haha. Tam Tam truly is a gem - go check 'em out!
What an experience. I had heard about Tam Tam from friends and had been on my radar for a while. This is a place for which you basically need a reservation, and they are not easy to come by. We ended up visiting at 5:30 p.m. to be able to grab a spot, and since before the restaurant opens, you can see people waiting for their reservations. You are first greeted at a window outside the restaurant, and as soon as you walk in, you are transported. The music, the decor, the aromas -- it feels like you are someplace else. A great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with your partner or with small groups of friends. I do want to highlight that the service was spotless since that first greeting at the window, to getting you to your table, going over the menu, and explaining the concept; they made sure we had a great experience throughout the meal. But what really sets Tam Tam apart is the food. The menu is short but accommodating, with options for everyone. Small dishes go for around $20 each, while large dishes go for around $40; you can expect to spend around $40-50 per person on food. We tried the Lotus salad, the Shimeji Mushroom, the wings, and the "wrap situation". I would say they were all +4.5 stars. Each of the dishes offered a unique flavor profile, not only amongst them but also from other restaurants you will try, making it truly a remarkable experience. At Tam Tam, you can notice their attention to detail; each dish is carefully crafted, balancing freshness, textures, spice, all combining in an explosion of flavor in your mouth. All in all, go on Resy right now and book a spot. Tam Tam is definitely a worthy experience. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.
Omg Tam Tam was fantastic. The food was phenomenal and tasted so fresh! I forgot our servers name but she's was wonderful. We meant to take pictures of the food we ordered but unfortunately the camera did not eat first.. Only picture i got was of the wings which were so crispy. Still talking about them. Only error on our part was not making a reservation :/
I've wanted to try Tam Tam for a while now and it definitely lived up to the happy hour accolades! We started with some Thai basil margaritas and a yuzu strawberry spritz. The oysters and scallop crudo tasted both fresh and innovative, like those dishes hadn't travelled too far from the ocean. The mildly spicy wings were super crispy and likely my favorite bite. Our server was amazing, incredible nails, and served us quick in this cute colorful spot downtown. Would definitely come back to try their larger dishes!
The only reason this is 4 stars is because I didn't have a chance to eat at Tam Tam proper; this review is actually for the Lunar New Year festival block party they put together this last Sunday. I met up with a bunch of friends and we enjoyed the culinary & cultural offerings. Since I'm allergic to seafood, I was just able to taste the chicken yakoitori skewers which were made fresh and tasted delicious. I did get to indulge their liquor, with my favorite being the "ca phe sua da" coffee liqueur (Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk & whiskey). The Lucky Money - green tea infused gin - was another indulgence that I might've had once or twice as well as sake shots off the horse ice sculpture. The dragon show was fun to watch and the dancers were really talented. Definitely looking forward to this next year again!
We were in Miami for the Lunar New Year block party hosted by Tam Tam. Great vibe and energy with Dj, Live band and Dragon Dance show. We enjoyed the sampler for the event which was the Pho and their famous Tam Tam chicken wings. These wings were so yummy crispy with the fish sauce caramel, garlic, cilantro and lime. Each order had four chicken wings. The Pho broth was really good but the noodles were a bit soggy. We ordered from a walk up window after making a long line to try these wings. Well worth it and we were lucky as they ran out of wings a few minutes after we ordered ours. Great festival and would love to attend again next year!
Amazing experience at Tâm Tâm downtown! We had Lotus root salad, Scallop crudo, Shimeji mushrooms and Lamb wraps but vegetarian sub with grilled tofu. Delish ! finished with vegan cheesecake that was out of this world. Our server was Nikkie and he was phenomenal ! Definitely will come back.
My wife managed to get us a reservation here during our trip to Miami and we had an amazing time. Tam tam is a modern restaurant serving a fairly small menu of dishes bursting with flavours of Vietnam. The majority of their menu are small appetizers for sharing, with just a couple of larger plates as shareable mains. They also have a selection of beverages with and without alcohol. For our visit, we tried their: * Scallop pomelo crudo - refreshing due to the citrus notes of the pomelo which is accented by the use of coconut milk. Scallops were fresh and sweet. * Shimeji mushroom - hearty appetizer with a fairly strong dill flavour; not overpowering but also not for everyone * Tam Tam wings - 5 large crispy split wings in a sweet and sticky caramel sauce. (So 2.5 whole wings, per order). Definitely suggest squeezing in the lime juice provided for an extra taste of Vietnam. My 6 year old loved.it so much we doubled up on the order :-) * Lamb wrap situation - it's more than your usual lettuce wrap! A deconstructed lamb wrap with lettuce, pineapple, cucumber, pickled radish, rice noodle patty, and the star ingredient - lamb pieces grilled on lemongrass. This dish will transport you directly to southeast Asia! * Also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. This was one that was a bit disappointing. They only had iced coffee and the coffee wasn't very strong at all. The service was attentive. We never had to wait long to get our server's attention and our waters were refilled regularly. Overall the whole family had a wonderful time and this restaurant gets 4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

LOVE the decor and vibes. Waitstaff are amazing humans that make your experience fun and give plenty of guidance on what to order. We ordered two glasses of wine with our meal not pictured here and our dessert also not pictured both fabulous. The ice cream was made in house using a Vietnamese fruit for its flavor, loved this. Followed the advice of others and ordered the lotus root salad, it was phenomenal we will order that again on our return. We were skeptical about ordering frog legs and the curry goat but both dishes exceeded our expectations. The most difficult part abt coming to Tam Tam is what to order. We are so looking forward to our return visit so we can try more menu items. 10/10 recommend! It's so refreshing to finally have some authentic Vietnamese food here in Miami! It's worth driving downtown to dine at this establishment. read more

I've been wanting to try Tam Tam for a while now. Went with a party of 5 and the service was phenomenal. The staff really works together to keep all dirty plates off the table, constantly checking on your drinks etc. I tried the scallop crudo, the salad, wings, the ribs, lamb situation cheese cake and pavlova. Everyone raves about the wings but I didn't see the hype. My favorite items were the lotus root salad and lamb situation, very very good and all the different flavors really came together. I also enjoyed the spiked coffee drink, I tried some other cocktails but this was definitely the best one in my opinion. The tres leches was sold out for dessert so we ended up getting the other two desserts on the menu. The vegan cheesecake was good, and everyone at the table enjoyed it, the pavlova was fresh and light not too sweet and pretty refreshing! read more

It's such a breath of fresh air to have delicious asian food in this area! Tam Tam really delivers with their flavors and service, and they even have a decent wine selection with a server who is well versed with their recommendations. We were very excited for the food and decided to try all of the protein dishes available (whole fish branzino, goat curry noodles, and lamb lettuce wraps). They were all fantastic! We kept going back and forth on which ones were our favorites, because it was so hard to choose! I will definitely be back for repeats and potentially with more people so we can actually branch out into the appetizers as well . We were kicked out once we finished our food because a party was coming in after us. They are very busy, so keep in mind you should definitely make reservations. If we are talking taste and food quality an easy 5/5. My only reason I wish I could give a 4.5 is because I was dying for the curry goat noodles and they didn't have it. The menu showed curry ox tail noodles which we ordered but then was told shortly after it was out. The waitress told us the curry duck was on tonight which was still great. I've never had frog legs and they were an easy 9/10, ribs are a must get and so is the lotus root salad. Vibes are great here, very cozy and cute location. It will 100% be a place I revisit and is easily a top 3 miami restaurant for me now. Highly recommend. read more
Like DJ Khaled's "and another one" is exactly how this dining experience felt and two incredibly delicious dinners in one week? I'm on a roll, I tell ya. This wasn't even planned and sometimes the best surprises turn out that way. I don't feel like writing a super long and elaborate review but this joint does, without a doubt, deserve 5 stars. Warmest welcome by Giselle and seated right away, most personable and delightful service by Will and back to back exquisite dishes from appetizer to dessert. I got to try "Soju" which is a Korean rice wine, much like a Japanese sake and I had to go for a half bottle, so good. Ok let's talk good... Will recommended something light since I was determined to try the Clay pot rice so I stated with the most delectable, mouthwatering steak tartare I've ever tasted in my life. It was sweet, spicy, savory and the meat was tender, juicy and lean. The dish was even pretty looking, adorned with edible flowers and one crunchy sesame cracker for texture. Just the right amount of heat, I couldn't get enough of it. Then came the rice clay pot with pork belly and I added crab meat because a man's gotta have his protein ya dig? Perfectly cooked fluffy rice, tender pork belly and crab meat, shrimp paste for flavor, lemongrass and a fried egg on top. One of the waiters came and mixed it all for me in a mini presentation and description of the ingredients and that's always a bonus for me. Another mouthwatering dish and also very filling so it made sense to start with something light for an app just as Will recommended. However he also suggested to try the squid, the ribs and the wings on my next visit. I had a little room for dessert and I'm glad I did because I ended my meal with a light passion fruit cheesecake sitting on a perfect vegan crust. Came here because it was supposedly the hottest place in Miami and it truly lived up to that status. The place is quite small but the service is absolutely amazing and efficient. The food was some of the best food I've had in awhile. The scallop crudo was bathed in a coconut curry broth with bits of grapefruit that add a refreshing taste to it. The wings were the best wings I've had and the best dish. It contained a crispy breading with an incredible sauce on it. The bone marrow was delightful but the bread really sold the dish. First time trying frog legs and I thought it was very delicious. The lettuce wraps had a wonderful touch the noodles and the pork/fish sausage was to die for. Lastly the snapper was the perfect choice and it couldn't have had a better flavor and char to it. If you're ever in the area this place is an absolute must. read more
Super delicious, really loved it. Had the ribs-best part of the meal. So good. Fall off the bone meat, sticky delicious sauce, really amazing. Also had the chicken wings. Very very good. Steak tartar really fantastic. Unusual, a little extra citrus-y or vinegar-y, but delicious . Then we had the goat stew. I'm not a big goat fan, just don't love the overall flavor, so this wasn't my favorite. But it wasn't bad. Had a nice sauce. I guess if you like goat you'll like it a lot more than I did. Then we had tres leches cake for dessert, which was also super delicious . I'd absolutely go back. The only negative thing I can say about it is there's just no street parking and the lot costs $30, which is a lot. read more

The biggest gripe I have was the experience with one worker. She's kind when she gives us our check, but gives us a nasty look when we ask for 2 separate checks. She does say yes, but then walks over (mind you, 3 steps away from our table) and loudly tells her co-worker "I f**king hate this job." Just not necessary and ruined our experience at the restaurant. It's a shame because everyone else was so kind! Greeted us with a smile and took extra time to give us recommendations. The food itself was some of the best I have had in a while. The two of us shared 4 small plates and it got us satisfied. Shoutout to the vegan guava cheesecake. Probably one of the best vegan desserts I've ever had, it tasted just like a regular cheesecake! read more

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. We didn't have a reservation and had to wait a while but worth it. We sat outside and while a bit warm, the weather cooperated. Not usually a fan of beef tartare, Tam tam absolutely changed my mind as to that sentiment. It was delicious. The chicken wings and ribs were so good, I'm not sure which I liked most, but if you're torn, get both. They're perfect t sharing size. Now the ones you won't want to share are the noodles. I definitely could have easily had my own. The dessert was Tam Tams own twist on the traditional pavlova dessert and they nailed it. Can't wait to go back! read more

First things first, the food at Tam Tam was delicious. The table favorite was the chicken wings, and the least favorite was the ribs (ours were really salty). We were sat outside because we did have a larger party, but we would have appreciated the staff being nicer when we asked about inside seating as well. The inside of the restaurant was trendy, intimate, and there was not a lot of room to move around. Overall, I would recommend hitting up Tam Tam if you are in Miami and want to try a twist on traditional Vietnamese food! (Also, the bar next door serves really good drinks) read more
An amazing meal! All of the food was delicious! The restaurant is small but has such a fun vibe and retro decor. Since it is small though they do try and move you through quickly, and you can only order 1 time. Make sure to get a reservation, too. The wings, mushrooms and sizzling pork were all amazing. Gotta try this place. Good for small parties, under 4 people. Kid friendly. Would come here with a small group of friends to hang out in downtown area. Food was good, I'm happy to see more Asian places that taste authentic. Service was great as well. If you go, check out the back bathroom that has a small karaoke lol. I took my daughter and friend here and they loved it too :) good laid back vibes. Easy location to get to if you live downtown. Next time I'll have to come back and try the drinks and more food! Lovely experience! Very intriguing and capturing ambiance from the music, wall art, dining furniture...even the leisure outfits of the service team were inviting. It created for an inviting vibe and set the stage for what amazing tasty food was to come. Our server was super friendly and had no issue describing the menu, favorites, and how we should approach the dining experience. So my partner and I chose to dig in with Lotus Root Salad, Tam Tam Wings, and Tamarind Glazed Pork Ribs as appetizers. Which all were satisfying in their own respect. Lotus Root Salad was such a refreshing taste, nice crunch with the vegetables and citrusy juice. Tam Tam wings were thick, well seasoned and just the perfect texture and garnishes. The Ribs were fall of the bone delectable and paired well with the pickles and crushed walnuts. We ordered a cocktail (Frozen Mango Basil Margarita) that didn't disappoint. Served as a pretty good palette cleanser and gave a slight buzz. ;) We barely had enough room for the main course which was the Goat Curry, which came with the egg noodles and mint leaves. The little bit of room we had left in our stomach for was for bite or two of the Main Course . Loved it the most ! We ended the night by the Resy reservation giving us a complimentary ice cream scoop! 10 out of 10 for me! I'll would definitely recommend dining here. I have not been able to try the Vietnamese menu at Tam tam but the menu for their Sunday pop-up Fratesi was great. The pizza was thin and crispy. They have very unique pizza options. We tried the Ashly which is the girl and boy demon (half and half) and the vodka pizza. I loved the Ashley because we got to taste the best of both worlds. The only problem is that since it is not a pizza parlor they do not have many ovens so it takes at least 20-25 mins to get your pizza. The place is cute. It has a different vibe. The servers are nice. The pizza size is good. The pie is pretty big. I want to come back to try their regular menu. read more
What an amazing experience! My boyfriend had been wanting to try this place out for a while so after waiting a couple of weeks I was able to snatch a reservation for dinner. I can honestly say it was completely worth the wait. We started off with their amazing wings and ribs. I am not a wings person and WOW they turned me into one instantly. The ribs were also delicious. They had a tangy sauce which was sweet and spicy. So amazing! That was followed by the Goat curry. Another amazing dish. First time trying goat and I'm glad it was. And we finished off with the soursop pavlova with dragon fruit. The pavlova was so crunchy and the center had this amazing soursop. The decor is very colorful and welcoming. Fantastic! I love, love, loved this spot. A little gem of a spot across from the court house, with old dinner stools and booths. Everything feels like a remix of decor, food, style and flavors. With a unique approach to Vietnamese cuisine and a Miami playful attitude, I really fell hard for this spot. The service was above and beyond and the wine pairing suggestions were perfect.just like Arnold, I will be back. Get the goat curry!!!! read more
Love this spot, small restaurant but packing huge flavor in their food. Street parking available, their employees are great, really friendly and efficient. My favorite thing here is definitely the TAM TAM WINGS, ( fish sauce caramel, crispy garlic, cilantro and lime ). These wings are too die for, so crispy so much flavor, packs the right amount of heat, simply delicious. I came here for dinner and had a great experience! I'll definitely be back very soon! Food: -Lotus Root Salad- this dish was refreshing and light. The salad is served with these airy and crispy crackers. We scooped the salad onto the crackers and ate it like that. It was so good! -Tam Tam Chicken Wings- A must order! Crunchy sweet, garlic wings. Really delicious and one of their top sellers! -Steak Tartare- Good with a spicy kick at the end. -The Situation- My favorite dish of the night! This is truly a "situation". They serve you two dishes- one with the pork belly meat, and one with the accoutrements (lettuce, noodles, shredded carrots and onions, cucumbers, pineapple, etc). Essentially you build your own lettuce wrap and it was excellent! Ambiance: One of the highlights of the experience was the ambiance! The restaurant has a throwback 60s/70s era vibe to it, mixed with a bit of an eccentric flare. The restaurant is located across from the courthouse, so you may also have a cool view depending on where you're sitting. One of the most interesting features of the restaurant was the bathroom. At first, I thought it might be a speakeasy in disguise. But no, it was just a bathroom with karaoke and a disco ball! It was very cool, unique, and unexpected! Tam Tam is a great place to come with a friend or on a date night, but I can't say I was blown away by the experience. One thing that turned me off is that there was a time limit at our table. I don't believe this was communicated beforehand, however we were a group of 7 for a birthday and we still wanted to order more food and drinks. We had ordered every item on the small plates (a few items like the chicken wings and ribs were ordered twice) and we didn't get to order any mains. While our server was polite, we were basically told that we *could* order mains, but we would only have like 10 minutes to eat once they came out. I believe a manager came over, but no one really seemed apologetic about it. We ended up closing out and finished our dinner down the street. Overall the ambiance is cute, and the standout small plate was the chicken wings. They don't serve any hard liquor so keep that in mind. read more

After seeing Tam Tam recommended as one of the hot new spots in Miami I had to try it for myself and it definitely did NOT disappoint! Upon walking in, you're greeted by friendly staff and cool, funky decor. The menu is mostly small plates with a few larger entrees. We tried the salted lemonade and jasmine iced tea to drink- both were yummy and refreshing. We ordered the mushrooms, wings, and pork belly situation to eat. The wings were some of the best I've tried, with an incredible crunchy coating and a sweet and savory sauce. The mushrooms were also fantastic. Somehow they were smoky, sweet, nutty and herby at the same time. The pork belly situation was also great and I liked being able to DIY my own bite. It was savory and fresh at the same time. Overall I was incredibly impressed and will definitely come back to Tam Tam. The food was some of the best Vietnamese I've had and the wings will likely live rent free in my head until I'm back. Make sure you go to the bathroom at the end of the back hall for a fun surprise when you visit! read more

Loved it. The restaurant is located at at a corner, across from the old court building in Downtown Miami. The dining room seats perhaps 30 to 40 people, in small cozy tables and a bar. Food is fire, awesome renditions of Vietnamese dishes with a contemporary point of view. Prices are fair. We had the escarole, the lotus root salad, the okra and the wings. All superb. Ambiance is trendy, service impeccable. 10/10. read more
