Good food and didn't have to wait a long time. Small waiting area but line moves pretty quick. Breakfast burritos are awesome.

Good tamales. Burritos are decent. Unable to take an order over the phone. Was on hold for 10 minutes, then they hung up on me. Called back and was placed on hold. I understand they are busy. But this had happened on multiple occasions....Get it fixed!!!! read more

Unfortunately, I had a challenging experience. I tried the enchilada meal. The beans are super salty (common issue with mexican food), the rice was mushy, and the beef tasted like dog food. The sauce was like it came from a jar. I did go back, and the fellow at the front asked me what I wanted, grunted in my direction and threw my meal into the trash can in a what I would describe as passive aggressive. The replacement that I took was a relleno, which was not too bad. The green chile was very good. I have have mid-range to lower quality experience in the past, but I was on the way back from a road trip. I think it will be quite a while before I go back. The big hitch was the lack of empathy, which is the key to customer service. Oh, well. I lost $7, but they lost a customer. Others might have a different experience, especially at breakfast time. I'm just one person, so give them a chance, I suppose. read more

I'm lucky if I ever get assistance from someone who is actually friendly. Oh and their Special style burritos freakin suck. PUT MORE GREEN CHILI IN IT, Jesus Christ. The original one on Mississippi is just so much better, even though it's way farther. The food at this one is edible, but they cater to the overwhelmingly white demographic of this area. read more

The food has always been good, but the customer service sucks. Ordering food to go at 6:15.....they seemed super irritated that I came in. They close at 8! And complaining about other customers so that you can hear them is ridiculous. I'll try another location next time. read more

Drive past this place and go to the tamale kitchen on Wadsworth and Chatfield!! This place makes McDonalds look good. This is probably the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. The employees are disgustingly rude and have the worst attitudes I had ever experienced at a restaurant. The owner is a straight dick and has been rude to me and watched him be rude to other people. They are so slow getting food out (I.e. me waiting 30 minutes for 4 simple burritos with absolutely zero apology for the wait) The food is good but they definitely skimp you on your food. The burritos are also super weak and about half the size of the tamale kitchen on wadsworth. I will never give this restaurant my business again, sad bc I live super close to the place but I'd literally rather drive further not to have to deal with those assholes. The employees at the tamale kitchen on wadsworth are much more friendly. I don't normally review restaurants but this one I had to read more

The bald guy who rings people up is so rude, I'll go the extra couple miles and go to the TK on Wadsworth and Chatfield.

Breakfast burritos are great but make sure to get it smothered or special. People are always nice and the food reminds me a little of the Mexican street food in LA... It's a good thing lol eat here! It's solid Mexican food read more

The food is ok. The burritos definitely outshine the tamales. I would give other locations a much higher rating, but the customer service is awful at this location. They barely acknowledge customers here and when they do, it is short and you feel like you are disturbing them to place an order. I have now had two bad experiences in a row with the guys behind the counter taking orders. Last time one of the guys taking orders was spewing expletives due to the phone ringing. I waited a while to place an order and did not receive any of the customary treatments, hello, welcome, thank you. Will not come to this location again. read more

Close to my work I get the breakfast burritos a couple times a week for the convenience. Would be 3 stars but I just got served a terrible burrito, it just didn't look right. Ate maybe half it tasted as funny as it looked and now I'm sick at work. read more

Customer service is horrible. No smiles, no thank yous, if you ask a question expect an answer in such a tone as if you're wasting their time. The lady in front of me told them they forgot to put anything on her taco, that she just got a plate of plain tacos with no lettuce, tomatoes, guac, salsa, or anything. And they gave her a look and rolled their eyes at her as they corrected her order. No "I'm sorry" or anything. They should call it Asshole Kitchen. Food is just average or below, but customer service is some of the worst I've ever seen. read more

Been to a couple different Tamale Kitchens and this one is pretty bad. Portions are small and meat is skimpy compared to other locations.

I hate to give a bad review, but it's an honest one. I ordered the chicken enchilada dinner for lunch with salsa and chips. Rice, beans and chips are yummy I really like their chips, kinda think with that crunchy toasted taste - but I'm a huge fan of mexican rice and refried beans and feel it's hard to go wrong with what I did enjoy.. The chicken is deffinately not my favorite chicken. Really didn't taste like good quality chicken ( it was like chicken "pieces" or "chunks" as oppose to shredded). And it had that "dirty" taste. Sorry Tamale Kitchen, but really didn't like your chicken at all. Kinda had to choke it down. LOTS of red sauce on the enchiladas, so if your a sauce fan, they deffinately don't skimp there! read more

Last time I had a tamale there it was bomb and very filling. With the egg, and potato and bacon n all that. My sister worked there and she always hooked me up and we loved em. Idk how someone couldn't like one of their tamales. Or maybe my sister just made them very well. read more

You get a lot of food for the price and you get sit down, restaurant quality food. Anything on their menu can compete with any large mexican restaurant chain. Breakfast burritos are served all day. I really like the enchiladas. read more

Unfortunately, this place has been a dissapointment more times than not lately. We live in the area and have been there many times. On a positive note, their posole is amazing!! We highly recommend the posole. The tamales have not been great lately. And def do not order the Picadillo... it is all potatoe and has no ground beef. Also, do not order the mex hamburger. The hamburger patties seem to have been prev cooked and then maybe frozen?? Horrible quality.Hopefully this helps! read more

Horrible customer service, apparently to work here the requirements are to have a bad attitude and no people skills.

I love tamale kitchen in all locations except the one on belview and kipling every time my husband or I go the staff is so rude the manager is the worst his name is mark he is rude and very un helpful they got my order wrong and put no chili on my burritos and I Didnt realize it intill we got all the way home with our food so I called and told them my order was wrong and if I could go back and have them just throw some chili on it and call it good mark told me if I bring my food back in he will put chili on it but he is going to charge me for the chili I asked him why when it was there mistake would they charge me he than yelled at me and said he did not make a mistake I got what I ordered i than told him they have the worst services ever I wasn't even asking for a new burrito or free food I will never go there again I will make the trip to Sheridan and Mississippi to get good service read more

We get take out from this location once or twice a month. Everything is always good, fresh vegetables. We always take the food home, dining area is kind of depressing. read more

Contrary to other reviews, I found the place to be damn good. We dropped in for breakfast burritos on the way out of town and I were not disappointed. Contrary to popular review, the bald guy is not rude at all, and actually rather nice in his way (after not being seated by many a dingy, but cheery hostess, I'll take the the person who gets the job done right over the 'failure with a smile' attitude every time) and the burritos were reasonably priced at 4&change. the chorizo is good as any - great flavor and not too hot at all and the service was fast. Definitely recommend it special or smothered as regular would be too dry. read more
