Very disappointed... We have been coming here since they opened and have always thought their food was just ok at best - a few steps above Casa Bonita. However it was close and generally had quick service so we came back again and again. However, after our last visit on 12/26/16, we will not ever be back again and will drive the long treck to Santiagos. When we got there around 11am, there was a line to order, which is not uncommon. We waited in line and finally ordered. Our order was not complicated; 4 tacos and a burrito. The guy behind me ordered a pint of green chili. My order was about 5 numbers away so I expected to wait for about 10-15 minutes. They called the number before mine, 72, then called 75. Ok... I realize some things take less time to make so I wasn't upset. When over 30 minutes passed (as I'm sitting at the bar counter directly in front of the cash registers) and they called 85, I then went to the counter and asked what was up. Edgar, the guy who took my order said he didn't know what happened but would get my order going. I guess that was his idea of an apology for a terribly long wait for essentially fast food. I told him the guy behind me ordered a pint of green chili and couldn't imagine it took over 30 minutes to scoop green chili into a Styrofoam container. They got on his green chili right away. Another 10 minutes passed, THAT'S OVER A 40 MINUTE WAIT IF YOU ARE KEEPING TRACK, they finally had my simple order. I never got an apology for the very long wait. I realize it wasn't the cashier's fault but an apology goes a long way in terms of customer service. They didn't offer my a free drink while I continued to wait or to comp any part of my order. Essentially my order just got lost in space... not necessarily anyone's fault but in terms of customer service - this was one of the worst. Again, we will not be back. read more

Coming from Arizona and growing up eating traditional mexican food this place is "A-OK", as my 3 star rating would suggest. I have been there a few times now and I haven't been disappointed with the quantity of food I receive. The carne asada taco plate is pretty fantastic. I give tamale kitchen 2 stars for a few reasons. #1 Customer service could be much better and employees could be much more friendly. #2 the food is good and reasonably priced but it is excruciatingly spicy! I ate only a few bites and my mouth was on fire! I get the fact that lots of people love spicy food but there are plenty of people out there that enjoy mild food. If I want my food to be incredibly spicy, I will tell you! Don't just serve me insanely spicy food if I do not ask for it. For these reasons, tamale kitchen will lose business. read more

The food was fine, not as good as the Sloans Lake location. The customer service was absolutely horrendous. From the time I placed my order on the phone and felt like I was putting them out, to when I arrived to a lobby full of people waiting on orders and at some point the manager/owner drops the f-bomb because he's unhappy with something one of his employees has told him. Are you kidding me? Then I get up to the counter to pay for my order and the rudeness and unhappiness continued. Maybe he doesn't like his job? Maybe he was having a bad day? But whatever it is I would sure hate to work for him and I will never buy food and has establishment again. Worst customer service ever! I will not be back! I've been coming here for many years and I can say without question they are constantly good. I have to admit, I always get the same thing! I love (and I mean LOVE) their breakfast burrito with Chorizo, Egg, Potato and Cheese. Dang, it's good. I can't leave without getting at least 2 dozen Tamales! One dozen beef and one dozen veggie. I only tried this place because there must be at least three others...somewhat successful, si? Successful or not, I was underwhelmed. I ordered the #1 Combo with a crispy relleno upgrade. The relleno had no cheese, it was just a batter fried pepper and had an unfamiliar taste to it. The tamale was no great shakes, not bad though. The enchilada was, I think, made with a flour, not corn, tortilla. Everything came swimming in a thin chile that had some hot bites here and there. There wasn't anything particularly bad but there was nothing that stood out as being better than a Mexican TV dinner. I was asked if my order was here or to go. Saying 'here' meant my Styrofoam container came on a tray instead of a bag. Ambience is nonexistent...it's as if management sees no need in even trying to create any. Last thing...the faucet in the men's bathroom is missing its aerator and the water sprays out towards the back of the sink, making it impossible to wash one's hands without contacting the sink when rinsing. This rating is for the breakfast burrito only, as I have not tried anything else. They are pretty good! The red chili in the burrito had just enough heat for me. I also liked the size of the burrito itself. It wasn't the size of my head. I ate the entire burrito and didn't feel weighed down. And it's pretty cheap. I will come back when in the area. read more

My friend wanted Mexican food in a hurry so we stopped here. It was okay. Canned sauce on my cheese enchiladas. The beans were cold and had crusty parts indicating they had been sitting for awhile. Lots of cheese and sauce on the plate - bit overboard on the sauce. The chips were not fresh - stale. He liked the salsa and his burrito. I thought the salsa was okay - too much heat or it would have tasted better (I'm a Mexican from Phoenix - I like hot but you have to taste the ingredients not just heat!) I ended up with an upset stomach overnight - have to believe it was from the food since it was all I had eaten that day but my friend was fine...who knows. My Wife & I Each Ordered a Tamale Plate to eat-in, I also ordered 3 burritos (one each of steak, chicken & Pork), I ate the Steak burrito there (smothered) -(green / other 2 burritos to-go)... I mentioned separately too 2 of the staff that for my taste the food was "way Too Salty", the first guy could have cared less about my critique, the second guy was slightly more interested & said that the Littleton location pretty much receives their food precooked & pre-rationed. He said that he was unable to test taste the food (Steak filling) for himself and that if he does refer customer comments about the food to the location that prepares the food it is hard to tell if anything will be or was done about it... It is easier to add "Salt" then too take it away! We won't be back any time soon if ever! read more

Visiting the area, a friend and i stopped in after hearing about the 24 hour breakfast burritos. LOVING BB's i was super excited. I was a little disappointed , they weren't as great as people had said they were. A little on the spicy side and had a chili mixture in it. They were more like a burrito with egg, which doesn't constitute a breakfast burrito. It was a good atmosphere, a d the staff was super helpful. I love this place! T.k. is a staple within my diet. There are a couple of them in the Littleton area both bomb! Personally I favor the Bellview location. Of course there known for there breakfast burritos, but everything there is amazing. Also if you really have a craving, the steak breakfast burrito is worth the extra few dollars.
