Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I went to pick up an online order. When I arrive there's a very long line in the drive-through. I was notified that my order was ready so called to see if someone could bring it out to me. After the fourth call attempt somebody and getting an answer from a very rude lady said they were not going to do that because it was "against their policy". Meanwhile as I'm waiting in line for the 30 minutes I am obsessed three workers smoking outside. Meanwhile my now ice cold meal is sitting in a bag inside. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm disappointed in this place. I was in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat so I decided to give this place a whirl. Ordered the Mexican hamburger which was more like beef n bean burrito and carne asada fries. I should have read other reviews, these fries are a sore thumb. Fries smothered in chile, cheese, and some funky meat. For the same price you can get a whole boat load at taco star...... The chile reminds me of chubby's in a way, presentation is poor, pricing is high, and the drive through wait during off hours is too long. Maybe I'll try a breakfast burrito next time. read more

They will charge you a different price then what the drive-thru menu says, so keep an eye on what they are charging you... I tried telling who they told me the "manager" was and she told me the computer is right and I was wrong; "I can't change the price", then ignored me and started helping the next customer. If it says a beef and bean special burrito is $3.25 on the menu and they charge me $3.50 and don't do anything to satisfy the customer then they are just asking for a bad Yelp review. Breakfast burritos are full of delicious ingredients that are freshly cooked. Homemade smothered burrito with bacon, chorizo, sausage and potato was a large breakfast as well as tasty. Seriously, this place is a weekend tradition for us! My husband gets the beef burrito smothered with everything on top of it (cheese, diced tomatoes and onions, sour cream, guacamole) and I get the smothered chicken burrito or vegetarian enchilada or crispy Chile rellenos. They have the usual vegetarian options. There is a small dining area and a drive through window and they are busy on the weekends! Catering is available also. Inexpensive and good. My husband got the HOT pork tamales and reports they were perfect - as close to the tamales he remembers getting from the Guadalupe ladies' group when he was a kid... and let's be honest, it's hard to compete with those childhood memories. This place is wonderful. The menu can be a bit overwhelming if you order inside and haven't quite decided on your order. There a so many choices. I've never had a bad meal here and the service is quick and friendly. In all of the orders I have placed, not once have they got an order wrong. Better than Santiago's up the street! As a Taco Connoisseur, I can honestly say this place does it right! A little pricey per taco at $1.50 each, but they do the taco craving trick. Good spice to the meat, stuffed to the brim and always crunchy! Also, try the Chili Relleno taco for a great twist on an old favorite. The Green Chili Cheese Fries with Chicharones do that late night fix and the steak and french fries burrito are really good and a welcome change from the standard breakfast burritos. The green chile is good and even though I stick to the taco's my girlfriend has never had any burrito or enchilada she didn't like. The steak fries burrito is BOMB & my personal fave!! also the tamales are amazing. Totally taste homemade. The green chile one was spicy. Be warned. :) Service is great. The food is fantastic and unlike local competition, you can actually pick up the food and not end up wearing it. Staff is always friendly and hours are great. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the wait times can be lengthy. Especially for drive thru customers. Start off with the pork taco plate, and then order a bunch of refried beans to go. The beans freeze great, we freeze then 1-cup zip-lock bags. That will at least hold you over until you go back again. My family is striving to patronize local restaurants during this difficult time. I started to place an order with Tamale, using DoorDash, and noticed that it offered a coupon for a 10% discount for first-time customers. When I clicked on the coupon, I was simply presented with a pdf file showing the coupon. I called the restaurant and was told this coupon could only be used by walk-in customers. Really? At 5:30 p.m. I was placing the order and asked to speak to a manager. "No, we don't have a manager on duty right now." Really? THEN, I requested extra sauce with my order and soon got an email stating that my card would be charged an extra $1.50 for the "special instruction request." With the plethora of Mexican restaurants in our area, I absolutely will not be returning to Tamale. Buyer beware. read more

Ever since I saw Tamale Kitchen on 104th, with its homemade paper signs in the windows, I wanted to try it. Walk in and you find a counter with a plastic push character menu of rellenos, enchiladas, burritos, and yes, tamales. I went with one tamale and one relleno in a combo with rice and beans for around $5. I took a seat and out came a styrofoam box with my order. Here, a "to go" order probably just comes without the tray my box was delivered on. The green chili was good and the beef tamele decent without having any particularly unique or interesting flavors. But my crispy relleno was exactly what a relleno should be: delicate, cheesy, and rich. Unfortunately, the rice and beans were unappetizing and I discarded them untouched. While the main event of my lunch was good, I was disappointed not to see some slow-cooked barbacoa or carnitas on the menu. Here it's more about the $2 breakfast burrito, I think. I've been getting poor service at this location for a year or so, but today I was sadly shocked at the treatment I got. I ordered a relleno plate and she quoted a different price than on the menu. When I got to the window, I asked for a breakdown, she wasn't happy. She mumbled something and I told her I wanted a receipt. She gave me one that only showed the total, I said I wanted an itemized receipt, she wasn't happy. It wasn't legible and obviously needed new ink, I pointed that out and she said that's just the way they come out of the computer. When I said it's not truly a receipt if it can't be read and that someone should address the problem. She torted back that if I didn't like it, too bad. I called the Mississippi location to try to see if an owner could call me back and didn't get the feeling that would happen. It will be my last trip to this location. But I waited over 40 minutes trapped in the drive thru only to get home and my order was wrong!! Got a smothered breakfast burrito, chicken flautas plate with beans and rice 7.75 and the very hot pork fries 7.25 and a .99 cent beef taco and no drinks. For the price of the fries i expected more as well as them being super hot and they werent. I think at a traditional sit down mexican restaurant we could have gotten a better deal. My brother like this place though and lools like they have some good specials for midnight on the weekends so ill give this place another try. read more
