Very festive place. The excellent margaritas added to the fun. Had the Al Pastor Tamales that were very good and fairly spicy. The chips and salsa were fine. Very friendly staff

I love tamales and had to come try Tamale's stand alone. I came in on a Friday night with a friend. Parking out back was full so we did street parking. I started with a cocktail day of the dead. It was a very theatrical drink but very good. So I came here wanting to order tamales but I decided to go for birria ramen. It came with 1 birria taco on the side. I liked it and would order it again. I love that they have a full bar with a cocktail menu. I started eating at tamale and co when they were at the lake eola farmers market and I love that I can come here now and get good tamales and cocktails at the same time. Service was great.

My friends and I dined in at Tamale last night and I was very impressed! The decor and ambiance was very lively and colorful. The service was very quick and Natalie was such a sweetheart. I ordered a skinny margarita and the Caesar salad salad with shrimp. My friends ordered a queso, street corn, and the empanadas. The presentation was spectacular and whimsical. The skinny margarita was the perfect drink to pair with my salad. I ordered this with a tajin rim and it was delicious. My salad was very filling and the Chipotle Caesar dressing was yummy. My friends loved their drinks and meals as well, and I am excited to come back here again soon! I'm unsure how the parking situation is as I parked at my friend's apartment around the corner and we walked here.

The food here was decent not the best Mexican food I've had. I would go back again and try their enchiladas and maybe their fajitas. Their service was slow and I had to keep telling the server to bring us water. It wasn't even busy so I don't know our service was slow. Great outside sitting and view of Edgewater. The service is why I am not giving them more stars. Took them forever to bring condiments, made me feel they forgot.

Have loved the Tamale Co tamales at the Yelp event at the Science Center and was delighted to see one in College Park. So very scrumptious!! I do love tamales! Jason, the bartender was helpful in suggesting beers and friendly. Food, ambience, and staff all excellent! Will definitely be back!

The margarita happy hour special was delicious, & I loved the edible garnish. Their food is good, but just a drink is a treat. I really like the mural, lighting, & decor. Festive.

Colorful and lively looking restaurant with all the strings hanging down from the ceiling. Chicken tamales were soft and warm. Beans and rice was yummy with good flavors. Came during brunch time and it wasn't that busy but waited for a bit longer to place our order in. So many chips with mild and hot salsa. Was so full afterwards. They have different special during the week and would like to check out their taco Tuesdays

I had such an amazing experience here. I was out with friends celebrating a birthday, and we decided to stop in for some mezcal. The four of us sat at the bar and were greeted right away. The bartender was quick, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about their selections. They even brought out chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The place itself is fun, lively, and full of color and music. It's on the smaller side, but the seating is well laid out, and there are outdoor tables as well. Just as we were getting ready to leave, the couple sitting behind us sent over a round of drinks for my birthday. When I walked over to thank them, I learned it was the owner, Jennifer. It was such a thoughtful gesture, not only showing appreciation for a customer, but doing so while simply enjoying dinner with her family, with no expectation of recognition. It truly made the night even more special.

My wife and I were nearby for Freehand Fest in the parking lot out back, so we went inside for some lunch (and AC). From start to finish, exceptional food and service. We sat at the bar and ordered the Chicken Enchiladas ($18) and the El Tri ($12). Both were fantastic. The green sauce on the enchiladas was perfectly tangy and the pickled red onions were a nice touch. The refried beans were some of the best I've had. $18 seems a little expensive for enchiladas, but they give you a lot of food. Even sharing between the two of us, we weren't able to finish everything. The plating is really nice as well. I ended up coming back a week later during the College Park Jazzfest and had a Tijuana Chipotle Caesar Salad ($12) and Chips & Queso ($7). The salad was really good. I loved the chipotle sauce - I'll probably order that on the side with other dishes in the future. The queso needed to be melted more, but more than adequate for our group of three. Looks like they have some pretty good Marg specials too, so definitely a spot I'll be visiting again.

Al away in the look out for Mexican food and tamale delivered. Stopped by for a late brunch (they serve brunch till 3pm). The breakfast burrito hit the spot. It had steak, scrambled eggs, cheese and pico. Loved to see the trio dipper included fresh guacamole. The margarita were perfectly balanced with flavor but not overly strong. Loved their outside dinning. Glad we explored this hidden gem and will be too

OH. MY. GOODNESS! This place was FANTASTIC!! The vibe is adorable and so cute inside! We love all of the colorful decorations. We started with drinks and apps. My husband ordered the Me La Pelas - he said it tasted just as it was described on the menu. I had the sangria and we had the guacamole and Mexican street corn to start. The corn was not on the cob and it came warm. It was so good! Super cheesy and flavorful. It also came in this cute little cart. I ordered the carne asada fajitas and my husband had the shrimp tamales- I forget the actual name. Everything was so good and presented beautifully. Sarah was our bartender and server. She was very helpful and made a great drink! We will definitely be back!

I am so glad Tamale and Co. is on edgewater! I used to visit their Goldenrod location when I had the availability! I love the decor and ambience. The staff is so nice and recommended dishes to our party. The food is always constant every time I visit.

I have to start off this review thanking our incredible service from Sergio. He made our dining experience exceptional! This is Tamale Co.'s second location. I have been to the original location that is set up with an order at the counter model, but this new location offers full service seating and a full bar. They have ample indoor seating and outdoor patio seating as well. I was excited that they opened this second location on my side of town! To drink, I had to try out the full bar, so I ordered a jalapeño margarita with a tajin rim. It was a great balance of spice, but be warned the jalapeños in the drink still have seeds, so this drink is for fans of spice. My friend went the sweet route and got a watermelon margarita with a salt rim that she throughly enjoyed. Now comes Sergio's first standout moment. One of my favorites from the hourglass location is the fresh bag of chicharrones you can pick up at the counter. These are not standardly available at this location, but when we asked about them, Sergio told us he would see what he could do. He then appeared with a fresh plate of chicharrones topped with cilantro - we were in heaven. Talk about making the dining experience special! For my main entree, I ordered the taco salad with chicken. My typical order is tamles, but I was looking for something lighter. The taco salad was fantastic. It has a base of rice and beans and is filled to the brim with delicious toppings and well seasoned chicken. This would be my recommendation if you are looking for a little bit of everything flavorwise. My friend ordered her favorite, pollo asado tacos, and they were just as good at this location. As we were finishing up, Sergio popped out to ask "You saved room for churros, right?" We said why not! When the churro cart came out it came with sparklers and flashing lights - basically churro bottle service! I don't know if this is standard, but it made it feel extra special. The churros were crunchy and sweet and came with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce. I highly recommend checking out this new location!

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

I noticed that when a manager (I assume) saw the Fortaleza bottle he rushed over to the bartender and had a side conversation about it while looking over at us. When the bill came, I was told that we were being charged for 3 drinks rather than 2 because he gave us each 2oz pours (standard neat, but maybe he didn't know that) and was being "nice" by not charging 4 drinks. Because they were already having side conversation about it, I knew this wasn't a battle I'd win. So I paid, tipped 25% and left, but I was definitely going to leave a review. Just know going here, they will charge whatever they want for drinks and make up rules. I paid $75 for 2 drinks. I won't be back. Adding on due to the reply. The person that replied to my review was not there during my service and is lying. Neither me or the gentleman with me asked for anything other than the tequila neat, we did however have conversation about our visit to the Fortaleza Distillery in Jalisco and how they pride themselves on businesses they sell to not overcharging for their tequila. Fortaleza was NOT listed in your menu, we saw it on the shelf and asked for it neat. As a bartender NEAT is a known pour. Please don't disrespect me by making things up. As I already stated, we simply asked for clarification which is what I added in my review, paid, tipped 25% and left. A reply from the business was unnecessary, this review is for other bar goers.

When we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, there was no hostess, and we had to wait to be acknowledged. Our server (a Hispanic woman with heavy goth-style makeup--I didn't catch her name) was polite enough, but there were several missed opportunities to improve the experience. The biggest issue was that they were out of multiple menu items we specifically came to try. We had also planned on ordering the duck-themed cocktail that was pictured online, only to be told, "We don't do that anymore." If that's the case, the menu and promotional photos should really be updated. Food: * Chicken Nachos - 3/10: Mostly burnt chips with hard, unmelted cheese. There was barely any chicken, and they lacked flavor. * Watermelon Margarita - 0/10: It was extremely sour. I sent it back and ordered a frozen margarita instead. * Frozen Margarita - Average at best. What was frustrating is that happy hour started about seven minutes later, and our server never mentioned that nearly everything we ordered would have been half-price. A heads-up would have been appreciated. * Street Corn - 6/10: The tableside presentation of cutting it off the cob was nice, but that's really what you're paying for. It could have used much more seasoning, and only two small pieces of corn were served. * Shrimp Tacos - 2/10 * Fish Tacos - 2/10: Both were soggy and lacked flavor. * Spanish Rice - 1/10: Bland and disappointing. Overall, the food was underwhelming, several advertised menu items and drinks weren't available, and the service missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For the prices, I expected much better quality, better communication about happy hour, and a menu that matched what was actually being offered. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.
