My friends and I dined in at Tamale last night and I was very impressed! The decor and ambiance was very lively and colorful. The service was very quick and Natalie was such a sweetheart. I ordered a skinny margarita and the Caesar salad salad with shrimp. My friends ordered a queso, street corn, and the empanadas. The presentation was spectacular and whimsical. The skinny margarita was the perfect drink to pair with my salad. I ordered this with a tajin rim and it was delicious. My salad was very filling and the Chipotle Caesar dressing was yummy. My friends loved their drinks and meals as well, and I am excited to come back here again soon! I'm unsure how the parking situation is as I parked at my friend's apartment around the corner and we walked here.

Have loved the Tamale Co tamales at the Yelp event at the Science Center and was delighted to see one in College Park. So very scrumptious!! I do love tamales! Jason, the bartender was helpful in suggesting beers and friendly. Food, ambience, and staff all excellent! Will definitely be back!

The margarita happy hour special was delicious, & I loved the edible garnish. Their food is good, but just a drink is a treat. I really like the mural, lighting, & decor. Festive.

Colorful and lively looking restaurant with all the strings hanging down from the ceiling. Chicken tamales were soft and warm. Beans and rice was yummy with good flavors. Came during brunch time and it wasn't that busy but waited for a bit longer to place our order in. So many chips with mild and hot salsa. Was so full afterwards. They have different special during the week and would like to check out their taco Tuesdays

Al away in the look out for Mexican food and tamale delivered. Stopped by for a late brunch (they serve brunch till 3pm). The breakfast burrito hit the spot. It had steak, scrambled eggs, cheese and pico. Loved to see the trio dipper included fresh guacamole. The margarita were perfectly balanced with flavor but not overly strong. Loved their outside dinning. Glad we explored this hidden gem and will be too

The food here was decent not the best Mexican food I've had. I would go back again and try their enchiladas and maybe their fajitas. Their service was slow and I had to keep telling the server to bring us water. It wasn't even busy so I don't know our service was slow. Great outside sitting and view of Edgewater. The service is why I am not giving them more stars. Took them forever to bring condiments, made me feel they forgot.

I had such an amazing experience here. I was out with friends celebrating a birthday, and we decided to stop in for some mezcal. The four of us sat at the bar and were greeted right away. The bartender was quick, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about their selections. They even brought out chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The place itself is fun, lively, and full of color and music. It's on the smaller side, but the seating is well laid out, and there are outdoor tables as well. Just as we were getting ready to leave, the couple sitting behind us sent over a round of drinks for my birthday. When I walked over to thank them, I learned it was the owner, Jennifer. It was such a thoughtful gesture, not only showing appreciation for a customer, but doing so while simply enjoying dinner with her family, with no expectation of recognition. It truly made the night even more special.

I am so glad Tamale and Co. is on edgewater! I used to visit their Goldenrod location when I had the availability! I love the decor and ambience. The staff is so nice and recommended dishes to our party. The food is always constant every time I visit.

My wife and I were nearby for Freehand Fest in the parking lot out back, so we went inside for some lunch (and AC). From start to finish, exceptional food and service. We sat at the bar and ordered the Chicken Enchiladas ($18) and the El Tri ($12). Both were fantastic. The green sauce on the enchiladas was perfectly tangy and the pickled red onions were a nice touch. The refried beans were some of the best I've had. $18 seems a little expensive for enchiladas, but they give you a lot of food. Even sharing between the two of us, we weren't able to finish everything. The plating is really nice as well. I ended up coming back a week later during the College Park Jazzfest and had a Tijuana Chipotle Caesar Salad ($12) and Chips & Queso ($7). The salad was really good. I loved the chipotle sauce - I'll probably order that on the side with other dishes in the future. The queso needed to be melted more, but more than adequate for our group of three. Looks like they have some pretty good Marg specials too, so definitely a spot I'll be visiting again.

Been hearing about this place and decided to try it for lunch. Food came quick & hot! Ordered the Most Mexican. I enjoyed the chicken tamale more than the pork one. The pork was a little dry but will definitely come back to try more things on the menu!

OH. MY. GOODNESS! This place was FANTASTIC!! The vibe is adorable and so cute inside! We love all of the colorful decorations. We started with drinks and apps. My husband ordered the Me La Pelas - he said it tasted just as it was described on the menu. I had the sangria and we had the guacamole and Mexican street corn to start. The corn was not on the cob and it came warm. It was so good! Super cheesy and flavorful. It also came in this cute little cart. I ordered the carne asada fajitas and my husband had the shrimp tamales- I forget the actual name. Everything was so good and presented beautifully. Sarah was our bartender and server. She was very helpful and made a great drink! We will definitely be back!

John was our server and was very helpful and friendly. His energy really made our experience positive. All the food was served quickly and delicious. I had the carne asada tamales which were very filling. Will return to try more items on the menu.

Tamale Co is a brightly colored, family-owned spot that immediately makes you feel welcome. The food is delicious and clearly made with care, but the real standout for me was the al pastor tamales, covered in an outstanding hot sauce that brings serious heat--in the best way possible. On top of that, they make great margaritas that pair perfectly with the spice. Between the warm hospitality, bold flavors, and strong drinks, this is a place you'll want to come back to.

It was after 8 p.m. on a Saturday, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. My order was ready ahead of the quoted pickup time, which I appreciated. However, the sandwich didn't quite live up to what I remember. The bread didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and the sandwich was lukewarm instead of warm and toasty like I've experienced at other locations. The Dream Bar was also not quite what I remembered. It didn't have the same richness or taste that made it a favorite for me in the past. I'm not sure if the time of day impacted the quality, but the overall experience just didn't match the Potbelly I remember from Chicago. They had room on the patio but we wanted the air conditioning. The June specials menu looked awesome. The monthly soup is cauliflower. I had the cucumber sandwich (the cool cuke?) and asked for it toasted. Choice of side was chips, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. I had potato salad/ it was good- a little bacon in it and perfectly seasoned. My sando came out toasted but they forgot the cucumbers! Our server brought me out sliced cucumbers so I added them myself. They were a little thick. I did not know but you can ask for pickles and they're free! They dropped off a large jar of pickles. Only two of us wanted them and they toss them if you don't finish them, so I took a few home. I only ate half my sandwich. Ir was super meaty. I recommend it! And the potato salad was a hearty scoop. I can't believe all of that was only $13 plus tax and tip. What a deal. Our food came out all together and didn't take forever. We sat. We ate. We charted. A good time was had! When you walk in you are greeted by all the friendly staff, who are all eager to help. The shop itself looks like it has all the original furniture and definitely gives old school vibes which i personally find charming. You place your order at the counter and by the time you finish ordering your sub is ready. We had to wait a few extra minutes for our onion rings but that was because they were frying them fresh. My husband ordered the 8inch Regular Sub which is just another way of saying an Italian sub and I ordered a 6inch Cheesesteak Sub with a side of onion rings. The regular sub was packed with cold cuts and sprinkled with hots peppers. The sandwich tasted fresh and those peppers added great flavor to the sandwich. The cheesesteak was tender and had the perfect amount of cheese. The cheesesteak was so good I regret only getting it on a 6inch roll instead of an 8inch. The onion rings were big and crispy. I liked that when you bit into the onion rings all the onion didn't fall out. On both subs the bread was so pillow soft and fresh. Now that I know they have quality food I would like to comeback and try their wings with fries and wraps. Gabriel's is definitely a spot I need to return to.

As expected, we know going into these food stalls that the prices will be premium due to the expected high rent that these places probably pay. So when we saw waffle sandwich bar, we thought the prices seemed reasonable. The brisket melt waffle sandwich looked reasonable at $18. With taxes and the service fee that all restaurants charge at the hall, it came out to $20. We were expecting a generous based on the price, but we were extremely disappointed with the 3 slices of chopped brisket in the sandwich, and the small size of the waffles. The flavor was good but I'm worried this place won't be able to survive as I am usually pretty forgiving with restaurants but I had to be honest about our experience here. I hope if they continue charging these prices that they'll be a bit more generous with their portion size going forward.

I'd heard about…read moreBricks & Bowls before (as well as the Ghost Kitchen concept), so we decided to give it a try. I was immediately drawn to the Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich. I noticed they offered a Boxed Lunch combo that included a half-brick focaccia sandwich, a choice of side, chips, and a cookie. Under the Soups & Sides section of the menu, I saw soups, salads, fruit, chips, and bread listed, so I asked if I could get the Kale Caesar Salad as my side. I was told it wasn't considered a side. That struck me as a little odd since it was listed under "Soups & Sides," but I didn't press the issue and instead ordered the sandwich and salad separately. I do wish there had been a sandwich-and-salad combo option, especially since it's Florida and 100 degrees outside--hot soup wasn't exactly calling my name that day! The Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich was a bit dry, and I didn't notice much Swiss cheese or enough ghost pepper bang sauce to add much heat or moisture. On the plus side, the focaccia bread was fantastic, and the sandwich was piled high with sliced chicken. Even the half-brick size was plenty filling. The Kale Caesar Salad was much smaller than expected and, ironically, seemed like it would have fit perfectly as a combo side. It also contained more romaine than kale, with just a sprinkling of baby kale on top. The Caesar dressing, however, was excellent--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. At $6 for a small bowl, I was hoping for a little more substance. I also treated myself to the Belgian Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie that would have come with the Boxed Lunch combo, and it was outstanding. Soft, gooey, and packed with flavor. Bricks & Bowls has a pleasant outdoor seating area in a courtyard setting, with tables shaded by large umbrellas. Just keep in mind that there is no indoor seating, and even with the shade, it can be pretty warm during a Florida summer. Overall, it was a decent first experience with some highlights and a few disappointments. The food had some strong points, particularly the focaccia bread, dressing, and cookie, but at around $20 for a quick-service lunch, I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the price.
