Lamb shwarma (small)
Tovan T.

Aljibani Halal Market is a gem! Grabbed a quick lamb shwarma sandwich from their counter today...and it was go very good! I strolled in to find multiple people buying their whole spiced rotisserie chicken. That's a good sign to me if people are buying whole chickens at lunch. The menu is pretty simple and the prepared foods counter is right next to the butcher counter. Sandwiches, whole plates, biryani, stews, and salads. The sandwiches come in lamb, beef and chicken. It's only $1 more for lamb. You get pita that's split open and then stuffed generously with tender lamb, cucumber yoghurt, and veggies for $7.99. I got a small and it was the perfect amount of food. The hot lamb is delicately spiced so the lamb-y aroma is still noticeable. The cucumber yoghurt and veggies are super cold (but flavorful) to provide a sharp contrast in textures and temperature to the lamb. The folks here are welcoming, but also very efficient. That shwarma sandwich was put together within a couple of minutes. There are tables outside the grocery store if you'd like to stay and eat, however there were a group of friends gathered today. I just went back to the office since I was short on time. Will definitely be back!

This review is for their roasted chicken ! It's $7.99 for a roasted chicken and it can't be beat. It's delicious Not salty or dry. The cashier is friendly. I love to order their roasted chicken for lunch and dinner and my family loves it ! They also sell Pita bread to go along with the chicken. I used to go to smart n final for the roasted chicken, but I found they were making it it too salty. If your looking for a roast chicken be sure to call into reserve yours. Closed on Mondays

I came in looking for rose oil but instead found some rose water for my homemade shampoo. Service was great. Fresh halal meat and weekly lamb and goat meat too. Small mom and pop shop. I met the owner and he was so kind and sweet to me.

I found this place through restaurant.com and decided to give this place a try. (FYI they do not accept the restaurant.com certificate). This is actually a small halal market with a hot foods section on one side of the store. They have a butcher counter with fresh meats, a produce section and dry goods. It's a good place to get your halal groceries and some interesting looking desserts. I'm not familiar with middle eastern sweets, so I think I'll be back to pick up more to try. I decided to try everything they had in stock, so I purchased a rotisserie chicken, the chicken curry, chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, and chicken biryani. They also offer falafel but ran out when I was there. Combos come with your choice of 2 sides. I got the chicken salad, tzatziki, hummus and tomato cucumber salad. The hummus tastes fresh and the tzatziki was nice with my pitas. Prices are affordable and portions are good sized. *Rotisserie chicken - 5/5. Well seasoned and delicious! This seems to be a popular item as the other people that came in after me wanted to buy it too, and one lady left because they ran out for the day. *Chicken shawarma - 4/5. Chunks of chicken on a bed of rice, but could use more seasoning. *Lamb shawarma - 4/5. My family enjoyed this but though it could use more seasoning. *Chicken Biryani - 3/5. Spicy but lacked flavor. Also watch for bones, there are a lot of them in this dish. Chicken was also dry. *Chicken Curry - 3/5. Like the biryani, the chicken was spicy, but didn't really have flavor and was also dry. I also picked up some pita from the shelf (locally made in Walnut!) and loved those. Fluffy and chewy - the way I like my pita! The highlight of the meal was the rotisserie chicken. Everything else was mediocre and I would only purchase the shawarma plates again. Service was excellent, the cashier was super friendly and the man serving at the food counter was nice too. He was extremely patient with me even though he had to rush to the airport to pick up relatives!

My overall experience here was excellent, and I will be returning! This local meat market has a unique selection of items and a fantastic Mediterranean-style restaurant. The man serving the food is exceptionally kind and funny. He even gave me an extra side out of generosity. Supporting small businesses is the way to go. If you want Mediterranean food, you have to try this place. ~Order~ Lamb Shank Combo Plate: Where do I BEGIN? The lamb shank fell straight off the bone and was amazingggggg. Every Mediterranean spot I go to cooks lamb terribly, but that is not the case here. The other sides are fun and delicious as well. I practically ate a cup of their tzatziki. Also, according to the owner, eating their olives helps you live a thousand years! To top it all off, it was $14 bucks. Most Mediterranean spots will charge $20 for a tiny lamb kabob! This dish is a must-try.

Chicken Biryani Plate

Really disappointed with the food I got from here today. I really want to try and support local businesses more during this time but when it comes to reviewing it, at the end of the day, I have to be honest. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was thinking that my Chicken Biryani would be made to order. As soon as I ordered, I saw right away the product that I would be getting. The rice was set on a platter. There were two versions a spicy and non spicy. I decided to get half and half. The problem was that it was just sitting out for who knows how long. I saw that it looked lowkey crusty and stuck together it was and knew it wasn't fresh. This is also not proper food handling and is dangerous in general because it is not kept at the right temperature to prevent bacterial growth, but especially now with COVID. You can't just have food sitting out like that with no cover. Even though it is behind a glass guard, there is nothing protecting it from the employees. I can only assume their masks aren't on the entire time they work. Immediately after I paid and got to the car, I checked to see if it was warm at all and of course it wasn't. I touched it and it was ice cold. I originally intended to eat it right away for lunch, but in order to eat it I had to drive home and blast it in the microwave. Hoping there wasn't any bugs, bacteria, or anything else, I decided to just eat it. It was $7.99 and the prices keep going up so the menu pictures on Yelp aren't updated. There was barely any chicken... the chicken that was in the dish were shriveled up and dry. I didn't ask for chicken jerky. Come on... with a meat counter/market at your disposable, I expected it to be fresh. The flavor and spices of the rice in general weren't bad. But overall, the dish was clearly not fresh. I imagine it would be really good if it was made to order but it wasn't. This pandemic is not an excuse to be lazy and potentially put customers at risk for the virus or food poisoning with dangerous food handling practices. It's not like I got this for free, I had to pay for it. Originally hoped to write a positive review but the quality leaves me to believe that they have given up and don't care anymore.

I purchased 10 lb tritip and 4.5 lb of it was just fat. I'm not satisfied with the purchase.

Shawarma chicken & beef plate which came with two sides (cucumber salad, hummus + 1 scoop of garlic sauce)
Ed T.

Never knew this place existed until I randomly stumbled on it through Yelp. This place is also inside a small market. I got the Shawarma chicken & beef plate which came with two sides (cucumber salad, hummus + 1 scoop of garlic sauce). The sides you were able to choose but I let the person decide for me. Food was interesting, something different from what you get around here. If I were to come here again, I would probably not get the hummus and instead get a second portion of cucumber salad.

My family & I been coming here for 36 years. Never disappointed, you can get lamb stew; lamb shanks; falafel; shawarma ; chicken curry;chicken biryani; chicken with vegetables & there's side are rice; cucumber salads mild or spicy; cucumber yogurt; hummus;garlic sauce; turnips; lettuce; tomatoes & onions. Vegetable so fresh. They always have a fresh pita for only $1.50. When family don't want to cooked & craving for lamb stew with cucumber salad; cucumber yogurt with pita bread. I just go directly to Aljibani Market . Soooo Good & delicious selection. There chicken & falafel is good too! And when you arrive you are greeted by Ahmed who is always at the front & his the cashier too! He always so friendly and helpful & at the hot food serving the customer is his uncle Mahmud. Will always come back when craving for all these delicious menu. By the way due to inflation the prices on the menu broad will change by next week I was informed by Mahmud. Still worth every penny spent. Thank you again Ahmed & Mahmud for always giving "Excellent Service ", from your long time satisfied customer

They're so pretty.

For Thanksgiving this year, our family gathering was much smaller - we all know why. So, we adapted and decided to cook less traditional foods and reduce the stress of cooking a big meal. Instead of (boring) turkey, I wanted to order rotisserie chicken from a local spot. It was between a Juan Pollo or this halal market I've never heard of a city away. You guessed it - I went with the halal market with promising reviews and the enticing Yelp photos. Aljibani Halal Market chicken is bombbb. At $7 a bird, the value was great. I preordered a day before for 2 chickies and the man who picked up the phone was friendly, even though they were close to being at capacity. So patient, thorough and slightly salesy, which I did not mind. I respect the hustle. Picked up the chickens day of Thanksgiving between 3-4PM window as he promised. It was super hot, juicy and deliciousssss. My family agreed - it was a hit and the garlic sauce was also a hit. Yeah, baby don't forget to ask for that garlic sauce. Best decision I've made this whole year so far. Will 100% be ordering from them again next year for Thanksgiving. Work smarter, not harder, folks.

Rotisserie Chicken Whole 6.99$. Amazing & Fresh! Saved some for meal prep.

discovered this place when I was looking for Halal food in san dimas, limited options here. This small place is wonderful, friendly , and cheap! The menu on the deli/ hot food station is clear and easy to read. This is a small local grocery store, a hidden gem! I bought 2 whole chickens, one beef shawarma plate , and a small side of hummus. I also bought Gullon Brand sugar free chocolate sandwich cookies (from the market part) , my go to cookie brand, healthier and tastes like oreo cookies. The man who I talked to upon placing my order was kind and helpful. When I came to pickup my food I found this place in an outdoor outlet area, with lots of easy parking. The grocery market itself is small but stocked with lots of drink options in the back, many imported options. The man who gave me the food was welcoming, friendly, and funny. The cashier who rang me up was also very kind, he welcomed me as he knew i was new to the store. I love supporting local businesses, especially muslim businesses mash Allah . The food: whole rotisserie chicken $6.99 beef shawarma plate $6.99 small hummus $2.50 10/10 rating, The rotisserie chicken was delicious! The meat quality was superb, tender juicy meat that melts in your mouth. Well seasoned, healthy, and natural, you can tell this chicken is high quality. I will definitely be coming back for the whole chicken. So cheap for the amount of food and the amazing quality of meat. 7/10 The beef shawarma plate was good, satisfying, and also fresh. Plate comes with rice and warm pita bread with your choice of two sides, in which I chose mild spicy cucumber salad, and yogurt mint side. Overall everything tasted good, sides were all fresh. The beef itself was soft, and tender, just needed a little more seasoning or some char on the meat pieces. Otherwise it tasted better than some restaurants i've been to. 8/10 Small hummus, very fresh and healthy side. Traditionally hummus is topped with a lot of olive oil but I like that they dont do that here. I like when hummus has no added oil on the top because its lighter and the hummus is already very filling itself. Only thing is that the hummus tasted like rose water a little bit, i assumed whoever was making it didn't intend to do that. Overall this is a hidden gem. Seriously were else in the greater Los Angeles area can you find halal food for this large amount and for this cheap? $7 for a combo plate with 2 sides? $7 whole roasted chicken?? On top of that very nice treatment from the staff, and I forgot to mention they have complimentary hot tea inside by the deli/hot food counter, great touch. I wish they accepted Ebt, only thing I was bummed about, otherwise its a wonderful little grocery market with hot fresh food , drinks, spices, snacks, produce, and some kitchen appliances (rice cookers etc). I'll be coming back for that whole chicken insh a Allah . may Allah swt bless and protect these businesses.

We started with the beef tartare as an appetizer, and it was really good. The combination of the crispy chips and fresh arugula complemented the tartare well and made for a unique and flavorful starter.
