I have been craving to try boat noodle soup ($15.95) since I've seen it online. It is a blood-based soup so it's a dark brown but the taste is not noticeable. It comes with thin noodles, sliced beef, pork meatballs, green onions, pork rinds, Thai basil, and cilantro. They do have a Thai level of spicy and they do warn that they do not to re-makes of dishes. I also got their pork jerky which came with a side of spicy fish sauce dip. Went here to get Thai food for supper and this place was disappointing. After leaving Thai Corner, I thought to myself, I should have checked the reviews on Yelp first before going and I probably could have avoided this. However, much to my surprise, when I checked Yelp, this place has almost all 5-star reviews. It makes no sense, so I had to leave a review. This is definitely not a 5-star or even a 4-star place. I'll give the benefit of doubt, maybe some other people have had a better experience than me, but realistically this place is like 3 stars max. I'm giving it 2 stars in this review and will explain why based on what we ordered. We ordered 3 items. First up was the appetizer which was Rangoons. They didn't look right when we got them. Usually, Rangoons have a puffy shaped appearance and have a cream cheese filling. The Rangoons we got were flat shaped triangles. I thought this was weird but I was trying to be open minded as maybe they have a different style here. They unexpectedly tasted like Chicken. I'm not sure if they used ground Chicken meat in them or if the taste of the filling was overpowered by being cooked in Chicken grease. The next item was Papaya Salad. The person that ate this said it didn't taste like Papaya. The main comment was either they used low-quality Papaya or it was old. Then there was the entree I got, Crying Tiger. Usually, Crying Tiger is marinated flank steak thinly sliced with a spicy sauce on the side. That's not what I got. The meat I got was Steak cut into cubes. It looked and tasted like the cuts of meat you buy at the grocery store to make stew. The sauce on the side was not right either. While the meat tasted alright for being stew meat, the dish was simply not what I was expecting. Overall, the food was visually unappealing and didn't taste right or was sub-par. It was clear that whoever was cooking the food didn't know how to make restaurant quality Thai food. I felt like I was eating out of the back of someone's house who didn't know how to cook good or didn't have the right ingredients or just didn't care. My recommendation is to avoid this place. I've been to a few Thai restaurants in Chino Hills, and this has been the worst so far. I still have a few left to try. read more

my mom and grandma come here all the time and theyre always talking about the boat noodles so i finally had a chance to swing by the other day for lunch. I believe its ran by a husband/wife duo. Wife cooks and husband is the one tending to the customers. The boat noodle is amazing. The broth was so good, I almost drank the whole bowl. I'm so confused by all the good reviews? This was some of the worst pad Thai I've ever had in my life. Dry, bland, flavorless and just literally terrible. I actually threw it away because it was so bad. The Panang curry was pretty decent, but I've definitely had better. I know this is an OC so I wasn't expecting anything phenomenal but somehow this still didn't even meet my already mediocre expectations. This place isn't just a hole in the wall, it's a gem in the wall. Negatives: -size, the restaurant is a little small so it might struggle to accommodate larger crowds. This is probably the only negative I could find to be honest. Positives: -taste, we tried the shrimp Khao Soi, pork rib fried rice, and the pad thai with pork. The khao soi was probably the best we've had so far. It's quickly becoming our favorite Thai dish. I liked the pork rib fried rice, it was unique and the fried rice had its own distinct color and taste. The pad Thai was not too tangy, which is a plus for me because I prefer savory over tangy. Overall, the dishes were seasoned well and not overly salty that would leave you thirsty. -value, the prices for the dishes we got were very reasonable in this terrible California economy. -service, service was quick, friendly, and very accommodating. Service is very friendly as one waitress takes care of us in this small restaurant. Thai corner Restaurant is traditional eatery type with Thai decor. Clean and warm feeling when you enter the restaurant. So we all selected lunch special, it comes with a small ball of salad and each dish includes one vegetarian egg roll. I ordered Kua kai, a lighter version of pad see ew. And each of us ordered a soft drink. Rest of them ordered pad see ew. Price is great as it's $12 lunch special on weekdays. Kai Kua tastes good.
