Caution: Black women! I am a woman of color, and when I attempted to schedule an appointment, I was told the air conditioning was broken and that they were not taking appointments until it was fixed. The explanation felt questionable at the time, but I accepted it. However, shortly after, my Caucasian friend went into the salon and was immediately offered an appointment without any mention of the same issue. This stark difference in treatment raised serious concerns for me about how customers are being treated based on race. I have also since learned that another woman of color reportedly experienced a very similar situation, which adds to my concern that this may not have been an isolated incident. Based on what I personally experienced and observed, I felt there was unequal and unfair treatment. I went for a refill for my acrylic nails! As soon as my nail polish was removed I knew that they were not salvageable(I had gotten a full set elsewhere) The gentleman that was doing my nails was so sweet and nice and removed the bad acrylic and did my full set and he did them thin and perfect and shaped them well! Very pleased! Clean, pleasant and friendly environment. Made an appointment over the phone the end of the day and on a short notice, and they were happy to accommodate. Everybody is wearing masks. They measure your temperature, have you wash your hands with brushes and soap/sanitizers and only then, you go and pick the polish. There are plastic screens and shields installed at every station. Very tastefully done! No rush service, very thorough job on my cuticles, and I enjoyed the foot massage. I also had a broken toe that is still in the healing process and the technician was very gentle, and took extra time to make it perfect. The other technician was constantly cleaning surfaces in between the clients. Several days later and my pedicure looks absolutely flawless. I think I have just found my new happy place :) read more

I called needing a quick appointment. I got one. When I got there, I could see why they could "fit me in" so quickly. I was the only customer on a Friday afternoon. The place stunk of chemicals. It was dirty. Did I mention the smell? Did I mention the dust? One woman worked on my left hand, another woman, STANDING BEHIND ME, worked on my right hand. Over my head they chattered in a foreign language, giggling constantly. Hopefully, they weren't talking about me.....but one never knows. When it was time to pay, who did I tip? Both? Neither? I went to Tammy's for the first time. I had an overall great experience. Kelly took me quickly as a walk in. I had a disaster on my hands that needed to be fixed. She removed my falling apart acrylics painlessly. Afterwards she gave me fresh new acrylics along with gel polish on top. She was very professional and kind. She made sure every edge was perfectly shaped and gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for. I will be going back later this week for a pedicure. I went to get gel nails. The price is cheaper than Nails 2000, but the color variety at Nails 2000 is so much better, and they really take their time there. My friends who went to Tammy's with me had a better experience than I did. Maybe the woman who did my nails was the one bad apple out of everyone. She rushed everything through and she kept pulling my arms in closer. As if we couldn't be close enough. I think I will continue going to Nails 2000. read more

I was looking for a good nail salon in the area and I finally found one. Yes, you must get over the fact that it is not the most eye appealing establishment, but they do a great job. I got married this summer and had my nails done at a horrible nail salon in Worcester and needed to have them redone the day of my wedding. Tammy's was able to get me and a bridesmaid in first thing in the morning and they did an excellent job. Again, this place has no frills, but they do a great job. Every time I am in there I notice a lot of regulars who know the staff by name and often ask about their children. I will continue to be a patron of this establishment and I recommend you give them a chance as well. read more

Went today on a whim for a manicure on my way home from the mall. Good manicure but place looks dirty there was dust all over the fan they used to dry my nails and on the drying table there was a vase with flowers that are fake and dust on top of the water or oil they were sitting in . Will not be back don't mind it not being new but dirty is not ok with me. read more

I LOVED Tammy's nails back from 2005-2008 and went there every few weeks for acrylic nail fill but then things went downhill - they were quick to turn over clients and the quality suffered. I then went to Simply Perfect nails from 2008-2014 and saw Bob who did the BEST liquid French gel nails until I experienced the same issue. I went back to Tammy's this December to fix a broken nail - turns out I needed to fix 2 as they didn't have the OPI gel color I used before. Thus, I had to change the polish on another finger on the other hand so they would match. I figured the quick polish change wouldn't be bad but in the end I was charged $8 for a broken nail and polish change on one nail because they didn't have that common OPI color. The cost of 2 nails was 50% of what I would have paid for a fill to fix all 10! Not thrilled at all and not going back. HOWEVER, I have friends who go here for liquid gel nails (french) and they always look lovely. So I think it's luck of the draw depending on how busy it is when you go and who you see. read more

I love Tammy's! I go here for pedicures fairly regularly. It isn't the fanciest place, not a spa experience, but you aren't paying spa prices either. I went there originally after another salon (which had excellent reviews- Nail2000) didn't really impress me when they didn't have my appointment open and didn't seem all that concerned to help me. Everyone at Tammy's is friendly and helpful. I don't get manicures, so I can't speak on that part, but they've got a decent selection of colors, nice comfy massage chairs, and at $26 for a relaxing pedicure, you can't beat it. read more

I agree that some of the reviews are overly harsh. Tammy's Nails was the only place that could accommodate me and two friends simultaneously on a Saturday morning so I booked appointments. I was a bit apprehensive given the reviews below, but went anyway. I must say that I was very pleasantly suprised. We were seen to almost immediately and enjoyed side-by-side pedicures while having a chat. The staff were pleasant, attentive (one-on-one at all times), and very good at what they do. This place is great. I recently moved to the area and was on the hunt for a new nail salon. I tried one place out in Ashland, but it was just okay, and then I went to Yelp to help me find something better. I stumbled upon Tammy's and made an appointment there for a gel manicure because based on the reviews they seemed to have the best service and the best value. It's not the fanciest salon, but its quick, convenient and quality service, and to me that's really what matters. I've now been here twice and have been very happy with both experiences. The convenient part for me is that whenever I have a spur of the moment and I want to get my nails done, they can always pencil me in or take me as a walk-in. I use to go to this nail shop regularly, its less expensive and good, but i quit going when the usual nail tech (K) started getting rude with me over nail art I asked for and tipped well for (20%)...so I decided she really did not care about customer service and they did not value me, so I found a new salon I love which is a little more expensive but not rushed and do what I ask while I tip them well. Sad...but the truth....just did not feel valued anymore. But it is totally okay for regular manicures/pedicures.....great location, easy to get to. But they do add acetone when their nail polishes get thick, so be aware of that. The owner LIsa is very nice there, but you get who you get unless you make an appt. and you still have to wait a little which I had no problem with. I dont know if the above employee is still there or not as I have not been there in over 2 years.....if you want something a step better, try Simply Polished in Framingham at main intersection in Saxonville. read more

I had been a customer for eight years at Tammy's...Lisa (owner) always did my nails and pedicures...For the past year I have not been happy, I am so tired of the speaking in Vietnamese and laughing at customers. The place is not clean and ended up with a fungus on my nails, All nail polish is diluted, so I had to bring my own...as a long standing customer I was unable many times to get an appointment till late afternoon. It does not get busy till that time. Rude, sloppy, asking for more money now than what is posted? I would love to count the thousands of dollars I have spent there..including tips which were very generous! I know that owners are not supposed to accept tips but Lisa does.. I have gone to another salon and would NEVER go back...There is acrylic dust permeating the air inside and it smells...Also underage girls have been doing pedicures on weekends.... Not a good move...I was stuck in time at Tammy's but Thank God I moved on! I shall not miss the shoddy job they are doing and the fungus on my nails that needed treatment! Any nail salon should have a relaxed atmosphere, no Tammy's one does your hands while you are having a pedicure, move this, move that is not what I call relaxed services....POOR! read more

Fit me in as a walk in. I did see a woman who was having a pedicure have two people doing her hands and feet but all others were one on one. My manicurist put the polish on a bit thickly and it snuffed a bit on the way out the door even after fifteen minutes under the uv light....not pleased with the uv light as who needs more skin damage???? She'll let you know that you don't know what your talking about loud enough for all the clients to hear it and attempt to embarrass you. I've been going to Tammy's for about 3-4 years, usually during the warmer weather. I think some of the reviews are a bit harsh and snobby. I don't think the staff is talking about you, most likely they are talking about their own lives and feel more comfortable speaking their natve language. Yes, I have been there where one staff was doing the pedi and the other started the mani, this happened when it was very busy and there were no mani tables available. The price is decent and I do not believe they dilute the nail polish. My pedi usually lasts close to a month. The staff is always very nice. I have never made an appointment, alway a walk-in and they are always very accommodatng. The place smells like a nail place, shocking?? What should a nail place smell like? Went here for the first time for a mani/pedi because I received a gift certificate for my birthday. The employees spent the entire time talking to each other in Vietnamese. Liittle did they know I spoke vietnamese too. They made fun of every single customer that was in there including myself from attire to how much of a tip was left. The quality of the mani/pedi was mediocre at best with barely a massage or foot scrub. Maybe they'd get a better tip if they paid attention to the customer instead of making fun of them. This is the worst nail salon I've been to in Framingham. The best part of my experience was seeing the shock on the women's face when I told her I understood everything they said and left without leaving a tip...no customer should be treated that way. read more

I had an hour and a half to kill while on lunch break from a meeting in a near by hotel. I popped in and was taken in right away for a pedi. I got the upcharged 'spa pedi', but half of the items listed on the poster promoting the service were not used. I had to ask about the last product, since that was the one that interested me (the heel cream). At the end of my pedi, the woman got up and started doing a manicure on another client. She never came back! I asked for my bill from another associate. I asked if they have disposable flip flops. She said they did, but that I didn't need any, that my toes were dry. While I was left hanging for quite some time, I know that after two coats of polish, and a clear coat slathered on in rapid succession without any drying time in between, my toes would be tacky for a solid half hour. She insisted I should just put my sandal on, and that my nails were dry. Needless to say, I had to make a detour and pop in on my way out of town for a touch up. When I asked that they fix them, they stood talking in another language to each other for about two minutes before saying "fine, sit down". An employee left another client to touch up my toe, then again left me hanging. I eventually (and awkwardly) got up and left (barefoot, this time) a few minutes later. I thanked them anyway, walking out the door. I received no such pleasantry in return. Note: they used a wand-style foot massager on me, directly after using it on a different client, without so much as wiping it off. Eww! That was what earned them one instead of two stars. Also, tell them before you swipe your card what you want to leave for a tip, or they will have to swipe it twice. Yes, despite the lack luster service, and over paying for a 'spa' pedi that was not, I left a decent tip. Although, if I had known they would have been hesitant to fix the smudges, I would not been as generous! read more

I went to Tammy's today because of the nice weather I wanted a pedicure. Also, I had gotten a $30 gift card for Christmas and thought I would use it. This was my first and last visit. I know nail salons dilute their polish so I always bring my own. The girl that did my nails seemed to be doing a decent job but when she started to paint my nails she didn't put on the usual flip flops just the toe dividers. She did talk a lot in her language which I do think is rude but I am use to this. When she was done she asked for $26. I handed her the $30 gift card with another dollar so that would make it a $5 dollar tip. She had the most disappointed look on her face said nothing and walked to a back room. She didn't help me to the dryers so I had to pick up my shoes and bag and walk barefoot to the dryers. I sat there for 15 minutes and took off the toe dividers, slipped on my sandals and walked out.
