I've been a member here for one and a half years, and I can't say enough great things about this business. First off, this place keeps everything immaculate. They really take cleanliness seriously. I was told once by one of the employees that they clean the rooms and beds in places that "one would never even think to clean." The parking is so easy. It's literally adjacent to the building. There's no having to hunt for parking or anything like that. EVER! YEY! You're looking at literally a 15 second walk from your car to the building. The staff is always friendly and super kind. They have generous hours: open everyday of the week, and they don't close too early on weekends either. The staff has always been very kind, and there prices are reasonable too. They also have a really cool bed that my wife loves since her legs don't tan as quickly as her upper body. I just checked their website, and the bed is called the "Legacy Leg Tanner." It is a bed that only tans one's lower body! At another company, their highest end bed was in garbage condition. At tan lines, all their beds are at their best, which I'm pretty sure means a deeper faster tan! read more

BEWARE EXPIRING PACKAGES. Total bummer. I liked going to this place a few times a year... After popping in and buying singles for a while, the desk clerk invited me to purchase a package to save money. I bought a package and so far had used half. I came in today to use another one and they said they were expired as "they only hold the packages for six months." I was like seriously? It's not like the sign on the wall says anything like that under the package prices -nor did they tell me that when I purchased it. He said if I bought a whole new package right now at full price he would add one extra tan to it. No thanks. Time to look for another salon. read more

Tan Lines is one of my FAVORITE places to go to! I go about twice a week to catch a few Rays which always makes me feel better, gives me some color and helps me clear up my skin. This place is always clean, the beds are maintained well and they have a lot of options depending on what you are looking for! The Matrix bed is my go to if I have a date the following day and I want a nice natural deep color!! But MOST importantly, I gotta say the owners and the employees are so incredibly nice when I walk in I feel like they are family!! They treat me with such respect and I always look forward to small chit chat before I go get my tan on!! I've been going here for years and never plan on going anywhere else bc this place is like home!!!! This summer I went home to Ohio and came back darker than any Californian I know... Everyone ooooo'ed and ahhhhh'ed at my gorgeous tan and told me how great I looked. A far cry from my arrival in Michigan, with my family asking me if it was legal to be so white in California... So, my vain little self vowed to keep my color throughout the winter. I'm a nursing student- which is why I never see the sun. Needless to say, nursing school keeps me on a budget!!! So... I did what any intelligent woman would do in my situation... I called all tanning salons in the area and asked if they offered a free trial (they all do). I began my rounds and I went once a week around Burbank and NoHo for my free sessions. I saved what I assumed would be the highest priced and worst salon for last- BOY WAS I RIGHT- Something about their website just screamed from my gut that it was sketchy, but I understand small businesses and gave it a shot. When I arrived, I circled around because I couldn't believe THIS could be the spot... It looked more like a mattress clearance store from the outside than it did a tanning salon. The man helping me (I was later told by a friend that it was most likely the owner- other people have told her they had issues with him too) annoyed me from the second I started filled out my information form, reading over my shoulder and asking me about my answers as I wrote: Him: 23 times a week?!!! Me: Noooo... it says 2-3's a week. He then told me how long my first session would be (I forgot to mention, this was the ONLY place I had to pay, but it was a flat fee for a week unlimited)... I explained to him that I am a nursing student, that I want to specialize in skin care, that I have been an esthetician (skin care specialist) for 14 years, AND that I have worked in a high-end tanning salon before, in addition to regular tanning for the last 4 months... he responded in a condescending tone: "if you are one of those people who knows their skin and what your skin can take and isn't going to budge or listen to what we tell you, then this isn't the place for you." He went on to try and explain the process of tanning to me like I had never taken a physiology class before... He saw the shock on my face, and what I can only assume was my jaw on the floor... standing there look at him in silence before he finished with... "and you can have your money back." I stood there in shock a moment longer before asking him how quickly he would let me advance to my normal time if I didn't burn during this first session.... and with his answer, I told him I would take my money back... I left, cash in hand and shaking. How DARE this man tell me- a skin professional- that he knows my own skin better than I do?! Now, I'm not undermining his own skin care classes or knowledge, but it is laughable to think even with his knowledge, that as a professional myself- he would know MY skin more than I do. After that, I drove my angry little butt straight to ***** ***. I took that cash and threw it down towards a package. I tanned for the amount of time that I wanted to/had been tanning regularly, and guess what- I didn't burn!!! And guess what else, just like Anthony stated below- I didn't have to pay some nonsense start up fee... In fact, of all the tanning spots I went tried- NOT A SINGLE ONE had a start up fee. Oh, btw- if you put your membership on hold here at Tan Lines, expect to pay a SECONDARY start up fee, so forget about only tanning in the winter (who needs a tanning bed during the summer?? We live in Cali for goodness sake!!! Way to be accommodating to ALL clients needs...) I wish I had just stayed after my first visit to the spot in Burbank, but I couldn't afford to be frivolous with my money- But this last visit was more headache and stress than it was worth. At the end of the day, the spot I chose has the cleanest facility AND the best prices in NoHo and Burbank. I just gave them 5 stars - I won't mention them here, as I'm not here to sell, I'm here to give honest feedback. If you search my reviews though you can find them. Bottom line. Save your money- there are definitely better places in the area. Post Script: Do NOT tan without having worked up to that level- it is not safe, no one wants you to get burnt. I thought this place was great when I first tanned here. I even started up monthly billing so that I could come as often as I'd like. Then, my debit card and credit card were stolen and had to be cancelled. In the chaos of disputing charges and obtaining new cards, I'd forgotten to update my Tan Lines account with the current number. The next time I showed up a few weeks later, I'd incurred a giant late fee in addition to other charges. The best part: they didn't care to help me out, and a few weeks later, as I was attempting to settle the charges with them, they turned me over to collections. AND, even though my account is in collections, they won't let me cancel my membership and continue to add charges onto the collection every month. What a nightmare! They could have had a loyal customer, but they decided to start a war over a few bucks instead. Don't start a membership with these jerks! read more

I just had my first spray tanning experience at Tan Lines. I was really nervous at first, but Cory put my fears at ease & really explained the whole process. The machine was clean & easy to use. I would recommend watching the video on their website if you've never had a spray tan before. I got the level 2. We'll see how it turn out! I really like this salon. The prices are reasonable, and it is very clean. I've hardly ever had to wait for a tanning bed. I've been to a few other tanning salons in town and the prices here, even with the start up fee are cheaper than them. And the workers are all very friendly. I'm not totally sure why people on here are dissing on the owner, all the rules for cancellation are laid out when you sign up, its not like he's intentionally trying to give people fees. read more

I had never been to a tanning place before- I chose this place because the person on the phone, Dan was really informative and nice- I told him I wanted a nice tan by Memorial Day- the place is large, nice and very clean- Dan and his staff are very nice and accommodating - After religiously going for 3 weeks, and every other day - by the end of the 3 weeks I barely had any color - I did not get the tan I wanted by Memorial Day - I did go to Dan and let him know that I was not pleased w the results- after a little back and forth we decided the best thing was to just give me a full refund- which he did- I won't be trying this whole tanning bed thing again- this experience just kinda burned me out in the whole experience - read more

I love this place I would recommend it to anyone!! The staff has all been friendly and outgoing. The owner is there every time I go and he already knows my name and what I want. He answers any question I have and is extremely knowledgable about everything. The place is so clean and whenever you go in a room it looks like no one has ever used that room before. I moved a little further away and there are plenty of tanning salons closer to me, and even one in my gym but I refuse to go to them. I have been going to this salon since 2010 and I like it a lot. It's clean, easy parking and the staff treat me like a VIP. I only want to go where people know my name and they're always glad I came! This is a great tanning salon. There is a variety of clean beds and tanning packages to choose from to meet all types of needs. I personally recommend the stand-up tanning booth because all you need is 10 minutes and you're tan! I had a great experience at Tan Lines in Burbank. The gentleman working was very nice and well informed, and took the time to re explain the spray tan hand positions and such to me because it had been a while. Mostly, I was super impressed with how clean the equipment was. I've spray tanned often at many other tanning location chains in LA, and very often the equipment is still wet or not clean at all when I step in. I was getting ready to vacation in Hawaii and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't shock any other beach goers with my pale skin as well as make sure I didn't wind up indoors the whole time after a bad sunburn at the beach. Not only are their prices the best in town, but the workers and owner are also the best. I had a tanning package that expired during Covid.
