I found Tandem Canineslast year while in a local German Shepherd Facebook group. I was looking for ideas of good local trainers that were willing to train my German Shepherd that I adopted through a FB post that was from her 2nd owner. Yes I was her 3rd but final furever home which is probably why she had severe separation anxiety, timid toward men, and leash reactivity. I saw someone recommend them and then the owner Jessica replied as well and we started training a few weeks later. Prior to training I never would have thought I'd be able to take her around other dogs but now she's a gem. Jessica was able to teach me more about the different German Shepherd working lines which was a crucial part for me to understand why previous methods failed. Now my Sammi is more focused on we with walks, can be around other dogs with out reacting when she's on leash and behaves better at home. The best part is her spirit us not broken which I was worried about. She still runs around with her weird German Shepherd antics but now she listens. Currently we are still with them for our next training journey -- mobilty support/medical alert service dog training. Our journey with Tandem Canines started about a year ago when our cocker spaniel bit my daughter's hand (in a provoked situation) and then me just a few weeks later when I pushed him off of a soda can he was happily licking. He had no issues with my husband or other men, but grew increasingly aggressive around females. We had no idea what we did to onset that behavior. Out of concern for my daughter and household visitors, we were afraid we would have to give him up. Thank goodness we were referred to Jessica at Canine Tandems. We invested in a full program of weekly trainings at parks and in public spaces hoping to help our dog understand his place and develop safer habits. Working with Jessica we quickly learned that we also needed to learn safer habits, and that owner consistency is most of the work of dog training. We had a few bumps along the way as our whole family (including our dog) learned together. If you want training to work, it really does require the same commitment from every family member. Jessica even helped us find a groomer who does an amazing job with our dog. I keep in touch regularly with Jessica to share the good and any setbacks as we're getting better every day! Here are just a few things we can do now that I never thought would be possible: - Take walks like pros. People are amazed at how great of a walker Oreo is, and now I can't help but chuckle watching people get dragged by (or drag along) their dog. - Go on long, comfortable car rides, and EAT in the car! Trust me, kennels are your friend. - Bring Oreos out in public and trust he'll be well-behaved, like to Home Depot or the park. He can walk, heel, sit, stay, come, and place literally anywhere on command. - Have people over! That first bite was at home with visitors so I was mortified we would never be able to have house guests again. Now we have guests ALL the time and Oreo knows his place. We also take the opportunity to teach people, especially young kids, about respecting animals and their space. - Be physically affectionate with our dog again. We were very nervous at first about our interactions, but now I know his body cues and can respond immediately. I can quickly remove him from triggering situations and he listens to my familiar commands even when stressed. Y'all, we SNUGGLE face to face, and I am able to trust my dog again because he trusts me! Here visiting family and at the last minute I had to leave my little guy. This place was available and needless to say I wished I had read prior reviews before doing so. I should of went with my gut and the gentleman that was leaving his pet looked pretty apprehensive as well. Read all the reviews. Trust me they're true. I love that the place has been updated. My dog's grooming was great. The service was friendly and efficient. However, the curb appeal has not changed. A coat of paint in a more classic color, some shrubs, and clean up of debris would make the place much more inviting. Just my opinion read more

Dogs were alive after a week long vacation. My hopes were rather low pulling up to the location. Dogs are insured. Broken car in the yard, cat roaming free on the desk etc. had the dogs washed before pick up, found them air drying in a cage with an industrial fan blowing on them. You get what you pay for so not really surprising. Next time I'll just pay a kid in the neighborhood to watch them, it will be a better experience. read more

First time I have ever boarded my dog in 12 years. Was very apprehensive. I want the day before dropping her off, and checked the place out. Appeared very clean, and enough room for her to move in the area. I called 3 times to check in on her. The staff was very polite, and gave me an update. Picked her up, bathed, and in perfect shape. Brought my dog here for 10 nights after reading good reviews. I picked up a different dog. First of all, he was covered in ticks and I paid for a bath on the day of his pick-up! When he got home, he drank water as if he hadn't had any in days. I feel very negligent for leaving him there. When I tried to contact the facility to let them know about the ticks, they never returned my calls and kept saying the manager was off. I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

Terrible dog day care! If you would like to get your dog back with urine stains all over him then bring him here!!!! Where you will be told it is due to him rolling around in his area before they clean it up every morning. Very disappointing, never had had this kind of experience. Also front desk girl has a non welcoming attitude and definitely did not look like she cared for the animals. read more

This facility is owned and managed by a family who is totally passionate about the dogs and it shows! They are under new management since January 2017 and the new managers are fantastic. This is a great place to leave your pups when you are gone knowing they will be safe, loved, and happy. I had been going to this place for almost 13 years. Until today. My fault, I should have fired them long ago, I just have a lot of tolerance and don't like change. They live next door to the grooming place & it takes them 10 min minimum to get to the establishment after honking and honking (that's what the sign on the door says) because they crawl out of bed and come to the door to let your dog in for a scheduled appointment. They have forgotten to call me to let me know my dog was ready, they have turned me away saying that the groomer didn't show and I drove all the way there for no reason. They haven't asked to an updated rabies/shot records in YEARS. Save yourself the trouble of a complacent establishment & don't go here. ISO a new groomer now..... read more

We love our Agility class at Holidawgs. Shelby is very knowledgeable in the sport. I didn't know much about it but she has really been kind to make sure I understand the rules & why we do it a certain way. Thanks for having an awesome facility with lots of bright lights so we can practice in the evening and its not to hot for my Hazel. My dog is having so much fun & I can see our bond between us getting strong. I definitely recommend people to come and a take at least one class. I did and wanted more so we are now in the 2nd class. Shelby, the instructor, is very educated on all types of agility. You can see she has a passion for what she does and really wants our pets to succeed. We like the class so much we signed up for the second agility class. The space we practice in is all fenced in and pretty big with tons of agility equipment to train on. I also like the fact that she took into consideration that doing it later in the evening would be better for our pets because it is not so hot. My dog is having a blast and I can really see her growing from the first class to the next one. read more
